Aunt Celia's radiant expression soon cooled after Bianca started eating. She reached out to touch her cheek.
"Do you think this was an accident?" she blurted, an intense look on her face.
Bianca paused, staring at her as she thought.
"I don't know," she decided. But from her aunt's expression, she felt she should be worried and definitely be thinking deeper.
"Your last boyfriend went through an accident with you the same time as this one, B," her aunt sighed. She removed some papers from her bag and showed her. "For some reason I just felt like it was best to search this. The same thing happened to your other 2 boyfriends, if you remember. And you eventually broke up after that."
Bianca felt confused and bothered as she looked through the files of her ex-boyfriends and the accident they had while with her. "What? Are you saying that this is all…my fault?"
Her aunt shook her head when she looked at her. "I'm saying there's something going on here. Something supernatural."
Nobody in the family had ever really talked about anything that had to do with the supernatural world with her. She knew her aunt was some kind of witch who practiced something dark- she'd seen her study and the dark books she read, and knew that there was something unique about her family, but she never mentioned anything. Because her life was normal and there was no reason to be bothered. If there was a problem, she would be told. Her family always did their best to protect her anyway.
She closed the files as she searched her mind. She didn't feel panicked because she knew her aunt would never lie to her, but she did feel worried. Really worried. Because if something around her was the reason the accident happened, it meant that there was probably something wrong with her.
"Am I… like you?" Bianca uttered.
She saw something flicker in her aunt's eyes, but it was so fast that she wasn't able to analyze what that was. But she knew that was some sort of answer.
Her mind went to Celestine and somethings started to make sense. It all had to do with him somehow, she knew. But she didn't know if she could ask her aunt or just wait to ask the man directly. Would he give her honest answers? And how was she sure that he would reach out anytime soon? She wasn't even sure if he was real at this point.
"How did you guess all of these though?"
"When I got in here the first day…" Celia took a deep breath before she responded, "I smelled death."
Bianca's eyes widened. She did die. But she was brought back to life.
"Celestine brought me back," she mumbled.
"What? Who is Celestine?" Celia questioned, grasping her arm that was still holding her rice pudding. "Did he do something?"
"He's a guy…" Bianca tried to find the words. "...he… I saw him before I woke up. He… didn't tell me who exactly he was, but he just told me his name. I don't really know if I believe that's his name, but I accepted his conditions before he brought me back to life."
"What?" Celia looked so alarmed that Bianca felt worried. Was Celestine a bad guy? Did she do something wrong? Was there something wrong?
"What did you notice about him?" Celia asked seriously.
Bianca never really intended to say anything, but with the way everything was unfolding, she felt like it was only right to tell her aunt who's obviously a witch the truth. "He was pale and… had darker eyes than mine… he didn't really say much. But he did tell me that he would let me stay in the space and be dead in the human world if I didn't do what he wanted."
"And what is it that he wants?"
She shrugged. "He never told me what exactly he wanted, just that I should find some people. I have a feeling he will soon though."
Celia sighed loudly as she let go of her niece, standing up to pace about the room, leaving Bianca even more confused.
"Auntie, is their something wrong?" she wondered. "I mean, I know it doesn't sound too good but he did save my life and-"
"Althrough your accidents," Celia interrupted. "You've never had an accident that almost killed you. Or that killed you. This time was different." She had a torn expression on her face as she walked towards Bianca, caressing her face in sadness. "She told me to protect you and keep this from happening to you, but I failed," she whispered, her voice cracking. "I shouldn't have let you go out with him."
Bianca's brow furrowed as she tried to understand her aunt's words. "What are you saying?"
"You dying means your abilities have awakened. Which also means that the angels are going to contact you soon if he's already done that."
Bianca had never been more confused than she was at the moment. Her food was no longer appetizing to her and were instead, covered up as she tried to pick up what she was being told.
Angels, death, abilities… awakened.
"Abilities?" she asked, feeling her head hurting. A headache was coming.
"Yes. Abilities. Supernatural ones. Abilities that no other being has ever had in history, even when I was being taught about all the most powerful creatures made from the beginning of the world."
Bianca felt like she was being spoken to in parables because each of her questions were responded with lengthy answers that she didn't expect.
"Bianca," Celia said firmly. "I want to let you know that you're not human and the person you saw wasn't either. He's in fact, one of the most powerful creatures to ever exist. In heaven and hell.
Celia continued, a stern expression replacing the worried look on her face as she decided something internally. "The man you met… was definitely the devil; Lucifer."
