"I also have a message for you from Hayashi-sensei," Yuriko said, and Nach already guessed what Kyoko's message could be:
"Please find and save those students who were left behind."
Yuriko then explained that only two buses from Fujimi Academy arrived at the Takagi estate last night—the first bus with Kyoko as the driver, and the other driven by Takuzo.
Yuriko's news shocked everyone in Nach's group, terrified by the memories of their encounters with the undead and understanding that those who were left behind had very little chance of survival if they encountered something similar to the undead horde led by a horny undead—quoting Nach's words.
Nach already knew that, of course, since he had seen it through the Reader's Viewpoint after Shizuka fainted in pleasure, which ended their intimacy last night, right before he fell asleep himself.
Surely, asking him to find and save those students left behind would be too much of a favor, even if Kyoko had already agreed to be his lover. Regardless, Nach couldn't blame her.
Kyoko was a dutiful teacher who cried and grieved for the students who were trapped in their classroom and devoured, becoming undead themselves because of her instructions back at the school.
Leaving behind those students on the third bus—who were running after them, screaming and begging for help—would make her feel guilty and ashamed of herself.
At least, that was how Nach comprehended the mortified look on Kyoko's face while watching that event last night.
For Kyoko to ask such an unreasonable request, Nach could only see it as her attempt to atone for and ease her guilt—not that it was really her fault, since the three buses had agreed not to help each other if an incident occurred.
Either way, he was planning to go and save at least Miku, Toshimi, Misuzu, and Morita—maybe even the teacher Takayama—while still thinking about what to do with Takashi.
Maybe kill him together with Shido, he thought, taking a peek at the Reader's Viewpoint and seeing that Takashi was sticking with Shido as they continued to move and hide from place to place.
"Pervert-sensei…" Saya murmured, getting Nach's attention.
Looking at Saya, who had the same worried look as everyone else in their group, Nach gave his response.
"Alright, I'll go and find them then—take everyone who's still alive, until we make it to your house," he said, earning admiring smiles from everyone, even Yuriko.
It works in his favor as well, realizing that Kyoko asking such an unreasonable request—and him agreeing to it—made him more trustworthy to everyone.
"And don't worry," he added, directing his remark—or rather, teasing—toward Saya.
"I'll also find your crush."
Nach's remark instantly made Saya blush, confirming she still had lingering feelings for Takashi.
I guess I really should keep him alive, Nach thought—not only because he assumed Takashi was needed for the story to keep moving forward according to the original plot, but also for Saya's sake.
"Don't say something stupid, pervert!"
While Saya was lashing out at him, Nach at least gave some thought to how to proceed with Kyoko's request, until Saeko stood beside him and spoke up to offer her help.
"Please let me come with you, Nach-sensei," she said, flashing her sweet, gentle smile. But Nach couldn't help noticing the faint leer curving on her lips, and he instantly knew what it meant.
Having someone who could fight would be helpful—at least, that was Nach's first reason—as he patted Saeko's head and gave his response.
"I'll take your offer then, Saeko."
"I'll come with you as well, Nach," Shizuka said, grabbing Nach's left hand as she leaned toward him, unintentionally pressing her large soft breasts against his arm.
"Tsk!"
Saya's retort—clicking her tongue in annoyance at what she could only think of as flirting between the two perverted adults—made Shizuka slightly back away from Nach and awkwardly avoid Saya's glare.
Nach would have liked to have Shizuka accompany him, of course, so she could treat the students if any of them got injured, aside from undead bites—at least, that was Nach's first reason.
However, this time, he had no idea what might happen. He would be completely diverting from the original plot, and from what he had experienced so far, every time he did, something unexpected and dangerous tended to occur.
"This time, it would be better if it were only me and Saeko," he said, directing his response not only to Shizuka but to everyone else in the group, explaining that it would be more effective since they could both look after themselves.
With the decision made that only Nach and Saeko would go find and save the students left behind, Nach prepared to leave.
"You're not taking the Humvee?" Saya asked, watching Nach load some snacks and water into his backpack from the trunk.
"It would be a shame if we ended up abandoning it due to traffic," Nach replied as he finished packing the supplies.
"Besides, haven't you taken a liking to it?" he added, teasing Saya about her newfound hobby.
"You're pretty close to Nach-sensei, aren't you, Saya?"
"Of course not!"
While Saya was being teased and made fun of by her own mother, Kohta took his turn to speak to Nach.
"Aren't you gonna take at least one rifle, Sensei?"
"We'll just pick some up along the way, so don't hesitate to spend some bullets and teach others how to shoot properly," Nach replied, assuring Kohta that he would bring more guns back.
"Please take this then, Sensei," Rei said, offering her revolver to Nach, only for him to hesitate.
"How many bullets are left in there again, Rei?" Nach asked, prompting Rei to check her revolver.
"There are two left," she said, and that made almost everyone—including herself—understand why Nach refused to take it: it was as if she were giving those two bullets to Nach and Saeko as a last resort.
"That's not what I meant!"
"It's not like you're jinxing us."
To ease Rei's worries, Nach took her revolver, removed one bullet, and returned it to her.
"This should be enough, right?" he said, hinting at what he meant and whom he intended to use that single bullet on.
Despite the doubt clearly visible on her face, Rei nodded, understanding what Nach would do for her.
As Nach expected, Hisashi was clueless about what he and Rei were talking about.
"Are you sure I shouldn't come with you?" Shizuka approached Nach again, still wearing the same worried look as before.
"We'll be fine, Shizuka. Besides, isn't there something you need to talk to Kyoko about?"
Nach's remark instantly changed Shizuka's expression—still worried, but for a completely different reason.
"Tsk!—Stop flirting and just go already," Saya said, handing him a city map her mother had given her—one Kyoko had marked with the location where they left the third bus—along with the phone she had charged while Nach and Shizuka were getting intimate last night.
"I'll call to update our situation so you won't worry about us, Saya," Nach said, knowing the Takagi household number was already saved on the phone—though what he said earned him another harsh, flustered remark.
"Stupid pervert!"
"Look after each other, everyone," he added, looking at Imamura, Alice and her mother, as well as Karen and Zeke.
"Good luck, Nach-sensei!"
"Arf!—Arf!"
"Cut all the undead, Saeko-oneesan!"
With Alice and Zeke sending them off, Nach and Saeko took their leave. And comprehending Saeko's murderous intent—hidden behind her usual sweet smile—Nach knew that it wasn't only the undead she was hoping to cut down with her katana.
