Chapter 3 - The Curse, Ignored.

Magic, the natural wonder of this world.

Every creature possesses at least a small amount of mana in their hearts, but it is not enough to truly weave magic.

Only those who are blessed with an abundance of mana can easily become a sorcerer.

Vernesa chatted softly, a gentle gaze in her eyes, hoping Mordred was listening to her.

Magic? Is this a new dialogue about the world's lore?

"So, magic. Is it any good for burning things, like meat?"

"Meat? Is the Lord Dragon capable of feeling hunger?" The beautiful face looked slightly surprised.

Me? No, not really...

Mordred felt that he would not grow hungry, and this body seemed destined never to starve. It made sense; this was only his dream.

Seeing Mordred suddenly look sullen, Vernesa hastily extinguished the fire magic surrounding her body.

She quickly diverted her gaze elsewhere.

"Lord Dragon, you want to go there, correct? It is quite dangerous. Why not remain here with me instead?"

Hearing this, Mordred's mind visibly shuddered.

The dragon's massive body shifted slightly, and the gigantic, blazing orbs of his eyes slowly widened their irises.

In his view, Vernesa had not just insulted him—she wanted to kill his fun!

"Stay with you, in a miserable place like this? That is a horrifying idea!!!" Mordred's voice sounded slightly maniacal.

Slowly, a thick, oily black liquid began to form around his gigantic metallic scales, quickly vaporizing into the air. In a split second, this black vapor began to spread and stretch from Mordred's monstrous body, filling the surrounding view.

"Are you a sorceress hunting for a Dragon's heart?"

Mordred's gaze was serious. In his perception, the NPC before him must harbor malicious intentions, appearing suddenly and then chattering indistinctly.

He felt that it would be easier if he just killed her now and forced a new storyline to appear.

From Mordred's perspective, Vernesa's face seemed to smile more beautifully—no, she was smiling more wickedly.

Vernesa gently tucked a stray lock of hair behind her cold ear, staring at the world's strongest dragon. She displayed no fear whatsoever on her face at this moment.

"Perhaps that is a good idea, Lord Dragon. The Dragon's heart is rumored to possess the special ability of the Dragon Language. Whoever consumes it will supposedly gain that power."

Mordred was mildly stunned; he hadn't expected his guess to be correct. This is exciting!

"But that is only a myth, Lord Dragon. No one truly wishes to become Dragon Kind." Vernesa touched her lips innocently, looking at Mordred—who appeared shocked, angry, and disappointed—with a small smile before continuing.

"The Dragon Kind Curse is a terrifying affliction that transforms the consumer into a Dragon Kind: a creature whose mind is enslaved by the obsession of its predecessor dragon."

"And Dragons are among the strong in this world. Apart from the highest ranks and the most powerful individuals in the human world, no one can even scratch their scales."

"But in ancient times, a Hero once ate a Dragon's heart and went mad, wreaking havoc in the human world. He was eventually punished by the Dragon Gods. The Dragon Kind Curse leaves one filled with eternal hatred, for Dragons are creatures protected by the gods."

"To slay them is to offend the deities, except for Vesanuss, a Dragon so powerful that he was not bound by any god. But regardless, Dragons appear to be the mounts of the gods."

Vernesa's mouth stopped speaking. Her circular pupils began to sweep across Mordred's entire monstrous body before her, scanning him from head to tail as if assessing a treasure trove.

"Except for you, Lord Dragon. It seems you are a special Dragon."

Mordred felt slightly flattered by the praise. Isn't that obvious? I am the creator of this dream world, kekekeke.

Isn't it clear that I created your grandmother? Mordred flexed his massive dragon bicep .

"Ah, let's skip all that."

"So, Sorceress, you have genuinely piqued my interest in this world now. Due to your encouragement, I'm starting to think about seeing the Eurasia continent you mentioned earlier."

"So, how do I get there?"

The small, blue lips smiled.

Vernesa began lifting the slender arm beneath her black robes. Her small finger started carving a magic circle in the air.

Swiftly, the air around the fingertip began to slowly distort, spinning and opening a chasm. Within the chasm, a colorful, scattered network, like shattered glass, became visible.

It began to spread, forming a massive 100-meter-wide hole. The opening blurred the cold air around it, and a gentle wind rustled Vernesa's aquamarine hair, revealing her face—which appeared flat and cold.

"Lord Dragon, you may enter here. However, this magic is unstable, and the place where the Lord Dragon stands may deviate slightly from the primary destination."

"Does the Lord Dragon mind?" She slightly cocked her head, attempting to gauge Mordred's current reaction.

She was only slightly shocked to see the gigantic body vanish before her, even though she had seen the dragon's comical face just a second prior.

It seems the Lord Dragon did not wish to listen to me...

A cold, beautiful smile played on her face.

A spatial tear slowly began to appear from the darkness.

The fractured space wounded the air, displaying colorful light that illuminated a humid and dark underground tunnel.

From within the spatial wound, a colossal, scaled black shadow began to show its terrifying face.

Slowly, the massive body violently dragged itself out, causing the entire tunnel to flicker and shake tremendously, triggering a severe earthquake beneath the ground.

The fierce tremor lasted for several seconds before the entire spatial circle in the air quickly shrank and vanished into nothingness.

"Haaahhhhh...."

"The aroma of wet soil and animal fertilizer. I have arrived!!!"

A piercing roar from the gigantic shadow fiercely shook the entire underground tunnel.

Crkkk—

Crkk—

The rocks above could no longer withstand the powerful tremor. They slowly cracked and began spewing rock debris from the ceiling onto the shadow below.

A landslide, thousands of meters in scale, quickly slid down toward the monster beneath.

The strong wind and the added sound of impact from the falling rocks and debris made the underground tunnel increasingly chaotic.

And the gigantic shadow was swiftly buried by the relentless landslide that struck its body like a waterfall.

For several minutes, the rocks seemed to spew and fall until they finally stopped, completely covering the space with earth and a mound of stones hundreds of meters high.

Yet, that hundreds-of-miles-long mound seemed to throb like a heartbeat.

Inside the earth, Mordred felt sullen. He found the situation painfully familiar. Isn't this exactly what happened when I first woke up in this dream...?

Well, this wasn't just a welcome from nature smelling of wet earth and animal fossils.

This ground was actually sentient enough to try and build his grave.

"Enough with the jokes."

Mordred's voice reverberated beneath the earth.

And his slightly hunched body began to straighten. As if feeling no weight whatsoever, Mordred quickly walked forward.

From outside, the gigantic mound violently shook until a crack slowly opened in the front.

It revealed the gigantic dragon face, which was smiling annoyedly, his sharp teeth tightly clenched.

"What an utterly unfriendly welcome. Is this the continental bird droppings? This continent is really massive."

Hmm...

No, this doesn't look like that continent. Mordred realized something was wrong.

In his current view, this continent... No, this wasn't a continent at all. This was an underground cave...

Well, it's a tunnel, brown in color with stalagmites and stalactites that make the cave look like a dragon's teeth, and the passage Mordred saw appeared endless.

Besides the stalactites and stalagmites, he also saw gigantic Green and Purple crystals that glowed brightly around the tunnel. In Mordred's view, this place looked exactly like a Dwarf's cave from legend.

Ah, this place is better described as a treasure-hoarding dragon's lair.

It was undeniable why he thought so. Gigantic crystals of various colors, towering high, appeared like hills and mountains. Even compared to the height of these crystals, his massive body was nothing—he looked like an ant under an elephant.

"Well, that's the right word. I can't believe that sorceress was a liar! She didn't just send me to a new place; this place is far from what I hoped for! Damn dream sorceresses are untrustworthy!!! "

Mordred leaned against a gigantic Blue crystal in confusion. Since this didn't align with his goal and expectations, he was now utterly lost on what to do.

"So, that concludes today's chapter."
