Chapter 103 - Chapter 103 : The Donquixote Family's Great Upheaval

One week later, a group of unwelcome guests arrived at the Donquixote Family's base in the North Blue.

"Captain, we've arrived! This is the Donquixote Family's base!" A tall, lanky man with stubby limbs, a round upper body, and hair styled like a hammer gestured animatedly.

Sebastian, the Fish-Man/Giant hybrid, pointed a massive finger toward the shore.

The brawny man with a green beard, who had been drinking in the cabin, put down his glass with a heavy thud.

He casually wiped his face and emerged onto the deck.

Byrnndi World. The World Destroyer.

"The Donquixote Family's base... is quite large," World muttered, his eyes scanning the horizon.

Even from the ship, they could see Donquixote Family members bustling about the port like ants.

In the distance, a magnificent, palace-like structure perched high on a cliff, overlooking the sea with arrogant grandeur.

"Let's go meet this kid who's been developing so rapidly," World declared arrogantly, cracking his knuckles.

As the massive pirate ship, flying the Jolly Roger of the World Pirates, advanced toward the docks, a sudden hush fell over the port.

"Lord Trebol! A group of pirates has arrived at the port!" A Mafia member rushed quickly into the Donquixote Family's operations hall, sweating profusely.

"They appear to be... the recently notorious Byrnndi World and his crew!"

Trebol, who had been sipping tea with the other executives, nearly choked.

"Neeee! What?!" He was extremely frustrated.

Of course he knew about Byrnndi World—the Donquixote Family's intelligence network was excellent.

For major pirates like him, they would receive updates constantly.

However, usually, they tracked the last known location.

No one had expected that Byrnndi World, after disappearing at sea for a week, would suddenly manifest directly at their doorstep.

"Call all the Family executives!" Trebol ordered, slime dripping from his nose in agitation. "Let's meet this Byrnndi World."

With Doflamingo absent—busy playing courier for Raleigh—Trebol was the one steering the ship. He had no choice.

"Whether he's some legendary pirate or not," one Mafia member whispered to another, "once he sets foot in the Donquixote territory... he better behave."

"Yeah. If the Young Master were here, would he dare to swagger in like this?"

They weren't clear about Byrnndi World's strength, but they worshipped Doflamingo.

Their confidence was high.

Perhaps too high.

Before long, Byrnndi World and his core crew appeared at the entrance of the Donquixote Family's base.

Trebol, Diamante, Pica, and Vergo stood at the heavy doors, fully prepared for combat.

"Wahahahaha!" Byrnndi World laughed heartily, his voice booming like a cannon shot. "Looks like my arrival has put you all under a lot of pressure!"

Trebol and his group remained expressionless, only their eyes betraying caution.

"Byrnndi World," Diamante stepped forward, his cape fluttering. "It seems we haven't offended you, have we? Why the unannounced visit?"

"Hmph. Offend me? Are you even worthy?" World sneered. "If you had, I'd have wiped you out long ago."

He waved a hand dismissively.

"Enough small talk. I'm here to discuss a major deal—a collaboration."

Seeing that Byrnndi World had no intention of starting a fight immediately, Trebol subtly signaled to his subordinates.

The hidden snipers and assassins quietly withdrew, though they kept their weapons ready.

World noticed the movement but paid it no mind.

He was confident that in a backwater like the North Blue, nothing could threaten him.

"At least you know your place," World grunted.

Trebol clenched his fist tightly before forcing himself to relax.

'Patience,' he told himself.

Soon, the two groups were seated in the Donquixote Family's opulent conference hall.

A slightly damp sea breeze drifted in through the open windows, swaying the expensive velvet curtains.

Trebol and his executives sat on spacious leather sofas, observing the few members from Byrnndi World's ship across from them.

"Might I ask, World," Trebol began, cutting through the tension, "what kind of weapons are you here to purchase?"

The Donquixote Family dominated the North Blue arms market.

If World was here, he must need something special.

"I want to buy a cannon," World said, downing a drink served by a trembling attendant. "And it has to be a big one."

Trebol felt somewhat relieved.

"Our family currently has pre-cast cannons ready. Excellent quality. Would you like to take a look?"

Diamante nodded confidently. "Our foundry is top-tier."

World chuckled darkly. "Those cannons might be treasures in your eyes, but to me, they're nothing but trash. What I need is a cannon that can destroy a Marine warship—no, an entire island—with a single shot."

Trebol paused.

He outright refused. "If that's the case, our Donquixote Family doesn't have it. You can try looking elsewhere."

"Unless it's an organization like the Marines installing fortress guns," Trebol explained, "no one makes cannons that size. The resource cost is terrifying. It's not profitable."

Hearing Trebol's refusal, World's expression changed instantly.

BANG!

He slammed his empty beer mug onto the table, shattering it.

"Are you saying we came all the way to the Donquixote base for nothing?"

"World," Trebol said, suppressing his anger. "We're businesspeople. We don't have it. Aren't you asking for the impossible?"

"Hmph. I am asking for the impossible," World growled, standing up. "And your Donquixote Family must produce this cannon for me."

"So there's no room for negotiation?" Trebol's voice dropped. "Our Donquixote Family isn't to be trifled with either."

Outside the council hall, the Donquixote Family members rushed in, surrounding the pirates with rifles.

"What?" World laughed. "You think you can threaten me with a few sticks? Where's that little brat of yours? Tell him to get out here and face me!"

"How dare you insult our Young Master!" Diamante roared, losing his composure.

"Open fire!"

BANG! BANG! BANG! Bullets rained toward Byrnndi World.

He merely stood casually in front of his frail brother, Byorftjack, making no move to dodge.

Clang! Clang! The bullets struck his skin and sparked as if hitting solid steel.

They flattened and fell to the floor, useless.

"Armament Haki!" Trebol gasped, seeing the thick, gleaming black sheen covering World's body.

"Quite knowledgeable, aren't you?" World grinned, his teeth flashing. "Too bad there's no reward for getting it right."

WHAM!

World moved faster than the eye could follow.

Diamante, standing at the front, took a massive fist to his abdomen.

His body bent into a U-shape, eyes bulging, mouth gaping in a silent scream.

"Diamante!" Trebol shouted.

But World was already moving.

A heavy boot slammed into Trebol's defenseless face.

BOOM!!!

Trebol was launched backward like a cannonball.

He crashed through the conference hall wall, exploding it into a gaping hole with a deafening roar.

Dust and debris filled the air, framing Byrnndi World's figure like a demon god.

"I KILL YOU!" Pica roared, his high voice screeching.

"Die, Byrnndi World!"

Vergo charged, his bamboo stick coated in his own Haki.

Their attacks landed on World simultaneously.

CLANG!

World didn't budge.

He stood there, tanking both hits with a cold sneer. "Is that it?"

"Impossible!" Pica shouted. "How is he not taking damage at all?"

"What the hell is wrong with that voice of yours!" World mocked. "Get lost!"

CRACK!

World's fists blurred.

Pica and Vergo were sent flying like severed kite strings, crashing through the furniture and embedding themselves in the far walls.

The once-opulent hall now looked like a war zone.

"Hah," World scoffed, dusting off his hands. "So this is the Mafia family that wants to rule the North Blue? Reckless ants."

Nairu surveyed the scene calmly.

"Boss. The Donquixote Family is the only group capable of custom-ordering this cannon. We need them."

"Relax, I know my limits," World dismissed. "That's why I didn't kill them."

He walked over to the groaning Diamante and snatched the Den Den Mushi from his coat.

"This should be it." He dialed.

Buru buru buru buru...

....

Meanwhile, in the East Blue.

Doflamingo was mid-slaughter, executing a squad of CP agents who had tried to ambush him, when his coat buzzed.

He paused, a bloody string still twitching between his fingers.

"Why is Diamante calling me?" he wondered. Usually, Trebol handled communications.

"Moshi moshi, what is it, Diamante?"

A wild, hoarse laugh emerged from the receiver.

"So you're that brat Doflamingo?"

Doflamingo's eyes instantly turned bloodshot.

"Who are you? What have you done to Diamante?"

This snail was exclusive. If a stranger had it, Diamante was down.

"Calm down, brat. I haven't killed your ants yet," World said, settling back on the sofa in the ruined hall, propping his boots on the coffee table.

"I want to make a deal. To build an enormous cannon. But your family didn't give me face, so they got what they deserved."

"You're the Young Master. I'm asking you—can you build this cannon for me? Remember, your subordinates' lives are in my hands."

A murderous aura exploded from Doflamingo, terrifying the nearby Marines he was escorting. He suppressed the urge to fly back and kill everyone.

"Fine," he hissed. "But you must guarantee their safety. If anything happens to them, the deal is off. And I will hunt you down myself."

"Tch. I don't care about your threats. If you can't deliver, none of you survive." World hung up.

"Boss," Sebastian the Fish-Man entered the hall. "I checked the warehouses."

"And?"

"The Donquixote Family's Fine Iron reserves are... extremely limited. Even combined with what we plundered, it's nowhere near enough."

"How is that possible?" World roared, grabbing the unconscious Trebol by his hair and slamming his head against the floor to wake him up.

"Where is the iron?!"

Trebol groaned, bleeding.

"We... just completed a major deal! All our Fine Iron was supplied to that big client! We're empty!"

"Damn it!" World smashed Trebol's head again. "Damn it all!"

"Don't be angry, World," Byojack spoke up, his voice trembling. "We can wait..."

"WE CANT WAIT! I need to fight Whitebeard now!" World turned to his brother. "Brother, you know everything. You must know where there's a supply!"

Byojack sighed inwardly.

He did know.

As the intelligence officer, he had heard the rumor Raleigh spread immediately.

But he didn't want to tell World.

Because that was a World Government ship.

Attacking Marines was one thing. Attacking a direct World Government tribute shipment? That brought down Admirals.

That brought down Buster Calls.

Byojack wanted to protect his reckless little brother.

But seeing World's desperate, rage-filled eyes, Byojack knew he couldn't hide it.

World would tear the North Blue apart looking for it.

"Sigh."

"A few days ago," Byojack whispered, "I received information. In the Eryoku Kingdom, there's a ship loaded with a full cargo hold of refined Fine Iron. It's about to be transported to Mary Geoise." He looked at World pleadingly.

"But that's a World Government ship! It's suicide World!"

After getting the information, Byrnndi World laughed heartily, a sound of pure, unadulterated madness.

"Brother! Don't worry about the World Government! Once I forge this cannon... even the World Government won't be able to stop us! Set a course for Eryoku!"
