Chapter 2 - Time to Stop Going Solo!

Yuji: "Wait, wait, wait! You're telling me a K-pop idol group collects positive energy from human souls to maintain some world barrier? Do people even feel that? And what does this have to do with me?"

HU5: "That's what we want to explain next. We'd like to introduce you to one of the main hunters from the previous generation — the mentor of the current one and the official guardian of their leader."

HU6: "Miss Celine, I believe it's time."

POV Yuji

A lot was running through my head. Honmoon, K-pop idols as demon hunters, demon kings… and now they want to dump all of that on me.

The explanation had already dragged on longer than I wanted, but there was nothing I could do. History, nuances, and questions had to be sorted out first. Still, one question cut through everything else like a blade: Why me?

This is my home — Japan, my country, my responsibility. Curses are mine to exorcise, pain mine to shoulder. I can't just leave it all and go on a little "adventure."

The assistant's voice interrupted my thoughts.

Assistant: "Please come in, Mrs Celine."

A woman stepped into the room. The moment she crossed the threshold, I felt it — a strange energy radiating from her. Not cursed energy. This was something completely different. Positive. Warm. Healing. Even reversed cursed energy never felt like this.

So this is what they meant by the power of human souls.

Celine: "Good evening, Mr Itadori! It's an honour to meet the legendary warrior who defeated the King of Curses."

Yuji: "No need for that, Mrs Celine. I just landed the finishing blow. But tell me — how does a demon-hunter mentor even know about Sukuna?"

Celine: "It's quite simple. I was once a musician myself — my group was called Sunlight Sisters. We were demon hunters, too. My duty to train the next generation forced me to study our shared history. Sukuna's name echoes through that history. The demon kings across the world either tried to make him submit or to bribe him, and all met the same end. When he was finally sealed, they celebrated in fear. Ever since, no demon king dares to set foot in Japan."

So even unintentionally, Sukuna might've slaughtered dozens, maybe hundreds, of demon kings… doing humanity a favour for once. Shame it doesn't cancel even one per cent of the horrors he caused.

Yuji: "Would you mind explaining how your world of demons and hunters operates — how human souls are connected to all this?"

Celine: "Of course. As your higher-ups said, our first duty is to protect Honmoon — a barrier covering the entire world, sealing breaches between the demon realm and ours. It's not absolute; smaller demons can still slip through. But the large-scale invasions are stopped."

Like Master Tengen's barrier, I thought, but on a planetary scale. The energy cost must be insane.

Celine: "To sustain Honmoon, we hunters gather positive energy through music. Each culture has its own style — ours uses the emotions stirred by performance to unite and uplift people. That positivity feeds the Honmoon. In return, it empowers hunters, granting them weapons and strength to fight demons. The stronger the emotion, the stronger the barrier."

Simple but effective, I mused. A system that heals instead of curses — the mirror image of jujutsu.

Yuji: "I have a better grip on a situation now. However, there is a question which can not be ignored. Where do I fit in? Why send me all the way to South Korea?"

Celine: "Because something unprecedented is happening. After your victory over Sukuna, the remaining special-grade curses united. They're afraid — if the King of Curses can fall, then so can they. They've allied with demon kings. Since then, cursed activity in South Korea has skyrocketed. Our hunters can't handle the strongest ones."

Yuji: "An alliance between curses and demons… that's new. What's each side getting out of it?"

Celine: "Demons crave the strength of curses. Each special grade rivals a demon king. Plus, restrictions placed on special grade curses at the moment are way lower than what demons experience due to Honmoon. Together, they plan to break the Honmoon, unleash chaos, and then wage war against jujutsu society, no, all humanity! They must be stopped!"

She handed me photos — blurred images of monstrous shapes caught mid-battle. Unregistered special grades. The kind that kill sorcerers in seconds.

My hands trembled. Anger surged through me like wildfire, and cursed energy spilt out before I could stop it.

Yuji: "Fwooooh…"

I exhaled slowly, forcing myself back under control.

Celine: "A-are you… Alright?"

She'd stepped back, shaking slightly. I'd scared her.

Yuji: "I'm sorry, Lady Celine. I didn't mean to show that side."

Celine: "It's fine. It only shows that you care — that you have a heart. Only from that I can tell that I have made the right choice coming here!"

Her words grounded me again.

Refusing wasn't an option anymore. Several special-grades working with demons — Gojo-sensei wouldn't have hesitated, and neither will I. Yuta and others can handle things here if something comes up.

Yuji: "I'll help. Whatever's happening there needs both of us. If demons and curses can ally, then so can we. Tell me when we leave."

Celine: "Thank you, Yuji Itadori. Together we'll protect the Honmoon. Your priority, besides fighting, is to protect the three girls of Huntrix — the new generation of hunters. Their final world-tour concert is in Seoul next week. After that, you'll meet them — VIP ticket included."

Yuji: "Got it. One week. Can you tell me more about them? I'll be working closely with these girls."

Celine: "I'll brief you on the way. For now, handle your preparations."

Yuji: "Deal. I look forward to working with you, partner."

Celine: "Likewise."

We shook hands — the first alliance between a jujutsu sorcerer and a demon hunter. The path ahead was clear: new battles, new lives to protect… and maybe, just maybe, a new beginning for me.
