The rain fell like shattered glass, each drop a cruel echo of a life stolen. My grand mansion, a mausoleum of broken promises, stood silent witness to the ruin within. They stripped me bare—my fortune, my name, my very breath—leaving me a ghost in yellowed silk, haunting the halls of my own undoing. I felt a light tap my shoulder I turned to it's direction. Zainab stares at me concerned. " Hey Zainab you okay? I coughed, the kitchen was filled with thick black smoke. " Where did all this come from?


Zainab gestures to the gas cooker, black smoke emanated from the pot. " Oh my God! I hurried over to the pot, the rice inside it were blackened burnt to crisp. " Oh... I'm going to prepare another one.


" What's the matter Samantha? You seem lost. She sat down on the stool by the island. " You've been zoning out lately. Last night you smashed a glass with your bare hand, this morning you left the heater on and this evening alone you burned the food. 


I wiped the heat off my forehead with the back of my palm. " It's nothing I've just been preoccupied lately. 


" Preoccupied? She inquired sounding unconvinced but I didn't care, I couldn't just tell her anything. " You've handled a lot of things but never done this before there's something eating you up.
