Monstrous heatwaves swept through, and the demonic beasts that had originally nearly filled the entire city of Orleans were completely helpless before such flames, instantly turning to ash.
Whether human or Heroic Spirit, all would be rendered speechless before this sea of fire that resembled an apocalypse.
"Why... does Jeanne possess such a Noble Phantasm?"
Queen Marie muttered blankly to herself; she could not imagine that the Saint, Jeanne d'Arc, possessed such a side.
Perhaps that fire had indeed changed her somewhat.
Suzuki Makoto frowned slightly; from the other end of the contract came a sensation of shattering and release. It seemed this Noble Phantasm consumed not just magical energy, but Jeanne's Saint Graph itself.
He immediately invoked the second Command Spell. Countless amounts of magical energy instantly seeped into Jeanne's damaged Saint Graph, forcibly reconstructing the original Saint Graph.
The sea of fire gradually extinguished, and Jeanne walked out from the ashes. That abrupt sharpness forced everyone else to avert their gaze; the exhausted Ritsuka Fujimaru's eyes even teared up from the stinging sensation.
"What is going on?"
Dr. Roman's voice was somewhat flustered. The current Jeanne, compared to the Saint from before, looked more like the Witch summoned by that evil Caster.
"I apologize. Using this Noble Phantasm comes at the cost of my Saint Graph, but Mr. Suzuki used his magical energy to reconstruct a new Saint Graph for me. This allows me to remain in this world, but the current situation is a result of the nature of Master's magical energy causing a change in the Saint Graph itself."
Jeanne's face was full of apology, and the banner she had always used as a lance had disappeared, leaving only the sword at her side.
"What terrifying magical energy... to be able to forcibly alter a Ruler's Saint Graph? It seems even her Class has changed? Jeanne's current Saint Graph appears to be that of a Saber."
Leonardo da Vinci looked at the data on the screen, her curiosity about Suzuki Makoto growing even stronger.
At the same time, golden particles suddenly began to rise from the bodies of all the Heroic Spirits, as if they were slowly dissipating.
"The Singularity has been repaired. We summoned Heroic Spirits must return to the Throne of Heroes. Savior of Chaldea, you should depart as well."
Jeanne looked at Ritsuka Fujimaru.
"Is it done? Goodness... I feel like I was just making up the numbers this time."
Not to mention Ritsuka Fujimaru, even the Heroic Spirits felt the same way. Everyone simultaneously focused their gaze on the man before them.
"I was also just making up the numbers, actually. After all, even without me, the conditions for victory were all present; there would have just been a few more twists and turns."
Suzuki Makoto had always believed in the saying that humility is a virtue.
"First we had to repel seven Servants, then kill Fafnir, and finally defeat the Witch Jeanne and the Caster behind her. Even after all that, there was this terrifying wave of monsters... Is a Singularity such a frightening thing?"
Ritsuka Fujimaru grumbled, though no discouragement could be heard in her voice.
The Heroic Spirits bade them farewell one by one, then returned to the Throne of Heroes.
"Thank you for everything you have done for this world, Sir Suzuki Makoto."
"You are welcome. To fight alongside the Saint Jeanne d'Arc was also a marvelous journey."
The Saint smiled and waved goodbye to the man, then scattered into points of light.
"This is for you, Miss Fujimaru."
Looking at the golden cup in Suzuki Makoto's hand, Ritsuka Fujimaru hurriedly shook her head.
"No, no, no, this is your spoils of war, Mr. Suzuki."
"Isn't this the Holy Grail of your world? I recall it being quite famous—like, drinking from this cup grants immortality or something."
Suzuki Makoto looked at the cup in his hand. He remembered there seemed to be a drop of water inside earlier, but it was gone after Jeanne used her Noble Phantasm.
Did it evaporate?
"It's not that. Dr. Roman said this Holy Grail is just a mass of magical energy; the true Holy Grail is still missing. It's just called a Holy Grail because the magical energy is so vast it can grant many people's desires and wishes. Although rare, it's not unique; I brought one back before."
Ritsuka Fujimaru explained to him, but then her eyes lit up.
"Since Mr. Suzuki is human, could you Rayshift back to Chaldea with me?"
"I apologize, that is not possible. However, if you find yourselves in dire straits in the future, I will still come to assist you."
Suzuki Makoto voiced his refusal before they could offer a feasible plan.
"Eh... Alright. I will definitely train hard using the regimen you gave me, Master Suzuki!"
The man smiled, waving goodbye to the two. A vortex of time and space opened, and he stepped back into the world of Demon Slayer.
"Dr. Roman, what do you think that was?"
"I don't know, but it certainly wasn't a Rayshift—and Mr. Suzuki has already left, so stop hogging my seat, Da Vinci-chan."
"Tch, boring man."
Leonardo da Vinci looked at the spot where Suzuki Makoto had vanished, seeing no trace left. Only then did she reluctantly initiate the Rayshift, bringing Ritsuka Fujimaru and the others back.
While the Chaldea staff celebrated the successful correction of another Singularity, Suzuki Makoto was turning things over looking for the Holy Grail.
"Strange. Did it disappear after crossing worlds?"
The man clicked his tongue in pity. That cup was quite pretty; he had intended to give it to Shinobu as an ornament.
Unexpectedly, the thing he cared about vanished, while the thing he didn't care about remained—Suzuki Makoto looked at the single remaining sword-shaped crest on the back of his hand, feeling somewhat puzzled.
He used one to let Jeanne unleash her Noble Phantasm, and another to repair her Saint Graph, so indeed one was left. But why did the Holy Grail disappear after he left that world, while this did not?
Forget it, it's not important. If fate allows him to visit that world again, he'll ask Ritsuka Fujimaru and the others.
Looking at the Butterfly Mansion not far away, Suzuki Makoto revealed a happy smile.
"Eh? Makoto, are you not leaving?"
Shinobu Kocho, who was forlornly tending to the garden, saw her husband return and immediately trotted into Suzuki Makoto's embrace.
"I am back."
"Eh? But I feel like you only just left a moment ago."
"That's right. I didn't stay long in the other world either. The bad guy there wasn't as good at hiding as Muzan Kibutsuji; I came back right after clearing him out."
Suzuki Makoto princess-carried his wife.
"Eek! Put me down! I still need to weed the garden."
Shinobu pounded Suzuki Makoto's chest, feeling somewhat shy.
"You can weed later."
"Wh-wh-what are you doing! It's still daytime!"
"Didn't Aoi and Kanao go to Tanjiro's place together?"
"Th-there are still those three little ones!"
The petite wife covered her face, her voice so soft it was almost a whisper.
"Go... to the innermost room."
