A translucent, blue status panel appeared in front of him.
Jin was stunned, rapidly blinking twice before realizing that his Eye of Insight had activated.
But wait—
His Eye of Insight could even see through unhatched Miras?!
"Are you interested in that egg?"
Dawn followed his gaze and saw the green-scaled egg.
"A little. Which Mira's egg is that?" Jin asked curiously.
"I don't know," Dawn chuckled, his next words making Jin's heart skip a beat.
"But if I had to guess, it might be related to reptiles. If you're lucky, then it might be a Dragon!"
"There are dragon eggs here?!" Jin's eyes lit up.
"No."
Dawn extinguished his fantasy immediately. He shook his head. "Dragon eggs are almost a legend… in fact, they can't be found at all. It is said that even as eggs, they are born with extreme consciousness, so they only appear to those whom they find worthy."
Hearing that, Jin rubbed his nose, a little embarrassed. "I thought too much."
"Hahaha! It's fine, young men should dream big," Dawn laughed. "Well, I think it's about time I introduced you to your special privileges as an ability user…"
"Please do." Jin nodded.
Dawn didn't waste any more time and began to explain. "First and foremost, the place we're in is the Elite Breeding House. The Mira eggs here are different from the ordinary Miras we give or sell to the public.
"Each of the eggs here was obtained from breeding two elite Miras, or found in elite-level Secret Realms. The potential of each egg is, at minimum, C-rank!
"After you choose one, it will be hatched immediately. You'll be given an elite Training Manual for the Mira you obtain, covering most of the knowledge you'll need. Besides that, you'll also receive a subsidy of 100,000 Emira per month."
Jin's eyes widened. That much?
He wasn't familiar with the other terms, but an allowance of 100,000 cash per month was something he could understand easily.
"Think it's too much? If I'm being honest… it's still low compared to offers you could get from private companies," Dawn said, shaking his head. "But we offer something invaluable compared to them, freedom."
"I understand."
Jin nodded, restraining himself.
"Alright, that's pretty much it," Dawn smiled. "You can explore for a while and choose one that suits your taste. After you choose, just talk to any of the researchers here. They'll hatch it for you."
Jin raised his brows. "Are you going, Mr. Dawn?"
"I'd like to accompany you until the end, but I have a meeting to attend." Dawn nodded, putting his hand on Jin's shoulder. "Good luck, young man. I hope we meet again in the future."
"We definitely will." Jin smiled, bowing slightly. "Thank you, Mr. Dawn!"
After saying a few words, Dawn left the lab room.
Jin first approached the green-scaled egg to take a look. Based on Dawn's words, since the potential of the eggs here was at minimum C-rank, this egg had to be a cut above the rest with its A-rank potential.
[Mysterious Egg]
[Species: Serperance]
[Potential: A-rank]
[Description: Touch to analyze further.]
He reached out his hand, palming the large green-scaled egg.
[Description: Hailing from the Southern Ecnologia Primitive Realm, they are known as the descendants of the False Hydra. In adulthood, they grow up to 8 meters. With the blood of the False Hydra, they are capable of controlling wind and earth.]
'False Hydra?'
Jin furrowed his brows, his heart skipping a beat. Regardless of the 'false' part, the description still sounded very impressive.
If he remembered correctly, a Hydra was a mythical eight-headed dragon. While there were no dragon eggs here, this one was pretty close to one.
He walked towards the nearest researcher and called out to them politely.
"Excuse me, did some of the eggs here come from the Southern Ecnologia Primitive Realm?"
"Huh?" The researcher was surprised, then she nodded. "Did someone tell you that? Well, it's not exactly secret knowledge... but yes. Some of them did come from that secret realm."
"Then, is there a Serperance here?" Jin's eyes shone.
"Serperance..." The researcher touched her lips. "It's not impossible, but very rare. We're not exactly sure either, since eggs are randomized. But it is possible."
Jin nodded slightly. "Thank you!"
"No problem!" The researcher smiled. "A Serperance is very rare, but also very strong. If you want to get one, I suggest choosing from the scaled eggs."
Jin thanked her once more before keeping the green-scaled egg to himself.
Although he was tempted to pick this one immediately, he decided to look around first.
With his improved Eye of Insight, he'd be stupid not to look at every egg before deciding…
'No rush, no rush…'
Jin grinned and looked around, but his smile immediately disappeared. There were at least a thousand eggs here…
***
After a couple of hours and enduring some strange looks and advice from researchers, Jin finally managed to check all of the eggs in the room.
In the end, he found a couple of A-rank eggs, but unfortunately, there weren't any S-rank ones.
It seemed he had been dreaming too much initially.
'Well, A-rank is still good.' Jin comforted himself.
If anyone heard his thoughts, they would definitely turn red with anger.
A-rank Mira eggs weren't just something people could get because they wished for them. In fact, when A-rank Miras were sold in the market, their prices reached up to 5,000,000 Emira. Eggs were generally much more expensive and could reach as high as 100,000,000 Emira.
With such a price, usually only private companies and high-ranked Mira Trainers were able to keep one.
As for S-rank Miras?
Throughout history, only twenty S-rank Miras had been discovered so far, half of them ownerless.
They were never sold to the market, except once.
That one exception, the price reached up to 1,000,000,000 Emira!
Unfortunately, Jin wasn't knowledgeable enough to know any of that yet…
But he was smart enough not to voice his thoughts out loud.
'Serperance, Abyssal Butterfly, Tempest Wolf, Sword Jaws…'
Besides the Serperance egg, he had found only three other A-rank eggs.
He wasn't knowledgeable enough to differentiate the strengths and weaknesses of the four, so he asked around in the lab in a subtle manner.
The Serperance was a rare serpent-type Mira known for its incredible strength and mysterious origins. But they were rarely owned due to the general unpopularity of reptile Miras and the harsh conditions required to acquire one.
As a result, the Serperance was a Mira that rarely appeared in battles, but when they did, they made sure to haunt their opponents like a never-ending nightmare.
The next one, the Abyssal Butterfly, was also a Mira that seldom appeared. They possessed both the power of darkness and the abyss, and it was said that each flap of their wings created a gust of curses that could cause the cells of a living being to decay.
The Abyssal Butterfly was even rarer than the Serperance, with only a handful of trainers in the entire world capable of owning one. This was because not only did they rarely appear, but training them required extremely precious resources.
The third one, the Tempest Wolf, was one of the most popular Miras. Due to their appearance and strong elemental skills, they were favored by many Mira trainers. It was also relatively easy to acquire one, although most of those circulating in the market were merely C-rank.
An A-rank Tempest Wolf was a different species entirely. If nurtured properly, it was certain to become a Wolf King, a creature that struck fear with its kingly aura and extreme talent.
The Sword Jaws was also strong. Similar to the Tempest Wolf, it was a relatively popular Mira, but it excelled more in water battlefields than on land. Its jaws could crush through anything, and once it got hold of its opponent, it was game over for the other side.
Its A-rank potential could allow it to grow as big as 18 meters.
Jin thought of the four eggs with A-rank potential, wondering which to pick.
"Which one, which one…"
