Julia's anger was evident as she spoke but there was nothing she could do. "I'm so sorry you had to go through this."
"I'm fine Julia, it's alright. It's all in the past now and I have plans…"
"I was going to suggest you take the money and start life afresh somewhere else but I'll miss you. I doubt someone as powerful as he is wouldn't be able to find you."
"I have something better in mind." Aurora said with a brilliant smile.
"Tell me about your plans." Her interest obvious, she drew closer to Aurora as it to prevent any word from escaping her hearing.
Scanning the room with her eyes to make sure none of the men were close by, she proceeded to give Julia details on her plans.
"You're right. They deserve to pay and I'm here to help along the way if you need me. Honestly, I love this version of you. They wouldn't know what hit them." She smiled and took a sip of her drink.
They spoke for some time, ate tacos and went for a little shopping and called it a day.
"Take care of yourself Aurora, call me when you get home."
"You too, Love you. After disengaging from the hug, Aurora watched Julia get into her car and drive off, Then headed straight to her car, she couldn't bring herself to call it that.
Someone pulled her right when she was about to get into the car.
"What do you want Celine?" Aurora asked, obviously dreading the encounter with the brat of the Kingstons.
"Hello swine! You look good, I must confess. I hope your husband isn't treating you badly?" She asked sarcastically.
"Cut the crap! You and I know you'll be more than happy if that were the case. Wasn't that the plan?"
Aurora turned to leave, she had no interest in the conversation and started walking over to the car, not before doing a proper eye roll. Celine just couldn't stand being ignored. She pulled Aurora back forcefully.
"Bítch I'm talking to you. How dare you walk out on me?"
"I think you're forgetting who you're speaking to." Aurora signaled her security to take control of the situation. She didn't feel like touching this mess.
"Oh now you think you can do as you please because you're married to the richest man in the city? You're just a toy to him."
That stung. Celine was going to say more but her security stopped her before she could. She was dragged into a nearby mobile toilet and some filthy water was dumped on her.
'My team is quite creative, I wouldn't have thought of such a good punishment,' She thought.
"Thank you, let's go."
She couldn't wait to get home and talk to Nicholas about her plans of employing Mr. Preston.
A message from Nicholas popped up, 'I have a surprise for you, hurry.'
A surprise? She got a little too excited, maybe this was his way of asking for forgiveness? They got to the mansion and her bags were carried inside while she asked Adam of Nick's whereabouts.
"He wasn't feeling too well so he decided to work a bit from home today. He's currently in his room resting." She nodded at his response.
She didn't want it to look like she desperately wanted to be with Nicholas. Slowly, she walked away and then hurried her pace when she was certain no one could see her.
She got to his room and forgot to knock in her hurry to talk.
"Nicholas I… Oh my god!" Her husband was fucking another woman right in his bedroom and didn't even have the decency to lock the door.
"Oops. Sorry, I didn't know you'll be home early." It was the girl from yesterday.
"How?" She couldn't believe her eyes, she looked nothing like Aurora or the other girls in the journal.
"But..." She couldn't get the right words out.
She heard her laugh, "You're shocked aren't you? I'm not blonde or petite," She chuckled as she walked close to Aurora, not minding that she was stark naked.
"I wasn't a virgin either. He isn't my first but I'm his only love."
"Then why didn't he marry you? Why go through all of this?" Lina hadn't expected the girl to respond.
"I should be asking him the same question but I know what ever game he plays with you, could never come between us."
"Leave my house." Aurora said with the little confidence she had left.
"Your house? Not for long so enjoy it while it lasts."
"As long as I'm married to Nicholas, my word is law here, I don't ever want to see you here.".
"Fine. Soon you'll find out why he keeps chasing after girls like you for fun. When you find his truth, who and what he is, you'll pack your things and leave." Lina smiled mischievously. Then she strolled out, barely taking time to clothe herself.
Aurora turned to the man, her husband, hoping for some explanation but got nothing. He just laid there, eyes closed like he couldn't care less. It wasn't supposed to hurt like this but it did.
"You're a mistake of a man. Disgusting." Still, there was no response from him. "This is the surprise you have for me?" God, how she hated him.
She was tempted to smash his head with a pan or something but there was no need for that. He wasn't worth the effort.
Unable to stand the sight of him, she turned to leave the room. "Aurora...?" His voice sounded so weak.
Great, he exhausted all his energy while cheating and had the guts to say her name? She glanced at him in disgust,
"You're not worthy of saying that name." She had more to say but thought better of it and headed straight to her room.
Pacing back and forth, everything the girl had said kept replaying in her head. What could be the reason for his obsession with virgins? Was he really in love with that girl? What else was he hiding?
