Chapter 278 - MTC Chapter 278 Leisure Time

Ian lazily waved his hand, signaling the two elf therapists to step down.

He looked at Lin Qiye. "How about it, little bro? The package your big bro ordered for you isn't bad, right?"

Lin Qiye stretched his limbs, and a series of crackling sounds echoed from within his body like popping beans. An unprecedented sense of power surged through his limbs and bones.

He had to admit that although the process was hard to describe, the results were astonishingly good.

Ian looked at his lingering expression of fear and put on a serious face.

"This is called 'breaking before building.' It's a tempering process every powerhouse must endure."

Lin Qiye twitched the corner of his mouth and said nothing.

He just wanted to know if this "tempering" was only for him, or if Ian had experienced it himself.

As soon as he finished speaking, Ian casually snapped his fingers.

The door to the private room was pushed open again, and another group of beast girls of various races with graceful figures walked in.

They carried an assortment of uniquely shaped plates and vessels, and a strange, appetizing aroma instantly filled the entire room.

An exotic feast commenced.

A crystal-clear, colorful pudding that was still slightly wriggling like jelly was served in front of Lin Qiye.

"Try it. It's a Rainbow Slime Pudding."

Ian picked up a spoon, scooped a large chunk for himself first, and looked thoroughly satisfied.

Urged on by Ian, Lin Qiye cautiously poked the thing with the tip of his spoon, harboring a bit of vigilance.

The pudding felt cold and bouncy, melting the moment it entered his mouth.

An extremely refreshing current slid down his throat. It wasn't cloyingly sweet as he had imagined; instead, it was like a clear spring that instantly rushed into his mind, washing away his mental fatigue.

His consciousness, which had nearly scattered from the earlier tempering, became incredibly clear at this moment.

Next, a fox-eared girl brought over a plate of meat skewers served on a pitch-black volcanic rock slab.

The skewers were still sizzling, emitting a rich meaty aroma mixed with a faint trace of sulfur. The surface of each piece of meat displayed a bizarre dark red hue.

"Roasted Fire Salamander Skewers."

Lin Qiye didn't hesitate this time. He picked up a skewer and took a bite.

An incredibly overbearing, fiery energy instantly exploded in his mouth, burning all the way down his esophagus into his stomach before transforming into a violent, scorching current that surged throughout his body.

Under the impact of this hot current, his newly reconstructed muscles and bones actually began a subtle reinforcement and metamorphosis, becoming even tougher and brimming with explosive power.

Finally, a bunny girl brought over a massive, partially bloomed white flower bud.

She gently peeled back the overlapping petals, revealing a handful of nectar in the center that was as clear as liquid moonlight and emitted a soft glow.

"Elven Moon Dew Nectar."

With one sip, a massive yet gentle life energy instantly enveloped Lin Qiye's entire body.

It felt like soaking in the purest spring of life. Every cell in his body cheered with joy, leaving him completely relaxed.

The violent energy brought by the Fire Salamander meat was perfectly neutralized by this gentle force, completely integrating into his body.

After eating and drinking his fill, Lin Qiye felt completely rejuvenated from body to spirit, reaching an unprecedented peak state.

Ian let out a satisfied burp and led Lin Qiye out of the pink building.

This time, they arrived at an even more magnificent location.

It was an immensely colossal colosseum, shaped like a giant inverted bowl.

Inside, the roars of creatures from various races, the clashing of weapons, and the tsunami-like cheers of the audience intertwined into a deafening cacophony.

The scent of blood and fanaticism rushed at their faces.

However, just as they took their seats in the VIP section with the best view, an unexpected accident occurred in the battle at the center of the colosseum.

A captured Hundred-Eyed Demon Spider from the abyssal plane suddenly went berserk.

On its massive body, nearly a hundred scarlet compound eyes lit up simultaneously as it let out an ear-piercing shriek.

Its opponent, a muscular warrior with a turtle's head and a human's body, didn't even have time to react before being instantly torn to shreds.

Immediately after, the energy chains binding it shattered inch by inch under its berserk strength.

Regaining its freedom, the Hundred-Eyed Demon Spider began frantically attacking the audience stands, instantly plunging the scene into massive chaos and panic.

The surrounding guards were completely unable to stop this out-of-control monster.

Ian yawned, seemingly entirely uninterested in the chaos unfolding before him.

He pointed at the demon spider slaughtering everything below and spoke to Lin Qiye.

"Go on."

"Perfect time to test out your newly acquired Black Myth Mod."

Lin Qiye looked down at the chaotic scene below. Feeling the surging power within his body, an intense will to fight welled up from the bottom of his heart.

Without the slightest hesitation, he leaped from the VIP seats tens of meters high, plummeting like a cannonball and landing squarely in the center of the colosseum.

"Boom!"

His feet stomped two deep craters into the hard ground, sending spiderweb-like cracks spreading in all directions.

This impact instantly drew all eyes amidst the chaos, including those of the berserk Hundred-Eyed Demon Spider.

With a thought from Lin Qiye, an unadorned, even somewhat rust-mottled black iron rod appeared out of thin air in his hand.

Facing the roaring Hundred-Eyed Demon Spider charging at him, he didn't dodge.

Just as the sharp spider legs were about to pierce his body, he sidestepped at an inconceivable angle to evade them.

"Ape Agility."

At the same time, the black iron rod in his hand was raised high. He initiated a zero-frame Smash Stance strike, bringing it down viciously onto the demon spider's head with the force of a mighty thunderbolt.

"Boom—!"

A deafening crash rang out.

The Hundred-Eyed Demon Spider's hard carapace, capable of withstanding cannonballs, shattered on impact.

Dark green, foul-smelling fluids mixed with brain matter splattered wildly in all directions.

Lin Qiye's fighting style was wide and sweeping, filled with a primal, barbaric aesthetic of violence.

His combat instincts were completely awakened at this moment.

Succeeding with one strike, he didn't pause for a moment. The iron rod in his hand blurred into streaks of black afterimages, smashing frantically onto the demon spider's body, strike after strike.

"Thump! Thump! Thump!"

With every strike, carapace shattered and flesh flew.

After just a few strikes, the previously arrogant Hundred-Eyed Demon Spider had been beaten alive into an unrecognizable pile of minced meat.

The entire colosseum fell into a dead silence.

Everyone stared dumbfounded at the figure in the arena, holding an iron rod and covered in demon spider fluids.

After a brief silence, thunderous cheers echoed to the heavens.

In the VIP seats, Ian nodded in satisfaction.

"Not bad. Barely a passing grade."

Two days later, Ian had taken Lin Qiye to experience almost every worthwhile spot in this plane.

He grabbed Lin Qiye's shoulder, and the surrounding space instantly distorted.

In the next second, they had returned to the Night Watchman temporary camp at the foot of Cangnan Mountain.

Then, Ian shoved the cluster of the Mortal Divine Realm that he had previously "scooped" out back into Lin Qiye's body.

In the distant Lunar Sanctuary, the Seraph Michael, who was resting with his eyes closed, suddenly jolted.

He snapped his eyes open, anger burning in his golden pupils, but it instantly turned into a profound sense of powerlessness.

He closed his eyes in humiliation, not even daring to harbor a single thought of resistance.

Just then, Hong Ying and the others rushed out of the command center.

Their faces held no joy of a long-awaited reunion; instead, they were filled with solemnity and anxiety.

Hong Ying ran up to Lin Qiye, pointing toward the empty city in the distance, her voice trembling uncontrollably.

"Qiye, something terrible has happened!"

"Cangnan... the entire city is being evacuated!"

At almost the exact same time, the highest-level red alert sounded within the camp, the piercing sirens tearing through the night sky.
