"What an intense light." That brilliant radiance left Dark Dagomon stunned, but the greedy gleam in its eyes flared even brighter. It stared at Kari with a scorching gaze that felt like it could melt her. "That light will be mine."
"Then it depends on whether you've got what it takes to beat us." Tai gritted his teeth and snarled, lifting Holy Sword: Genesis Blade as he charged again.
"My body's overflowing with power again… this familiar strength." WarGreymon felt heat surge through every part of him, and he couldn't help roaring.
"WarGreymon—battle mode conversion!"
The Greymon Sword in his right hand swept out, and the runes along the blade lit up. Wherever it passed, the tentacles were sliced apart as easily as tofu. WarGreymon raised the Greymon Sword with both hands, condensed a massive energy blade, and cleaved the tentacle prison wide open. The remaining arc of energy slammed into Dark Dagomon's chest, carving a gigantic wound across it.
"Hrrk… hrrk…" Dark Dagomon panted, drawing energy from the Dark Ocean as the enormous injury rapidly closed. "You should all die."
"T.K., I feel like I'm bursting with power!" Patamon fluttered excitedly, bright eyes shining.
T.K. lifted the glowing Crest of Hope around his neck into his hand, staring in disbelief. "The Crest of Hope is glowing…"
"Patamon—Warp Digivolution to MagnaAngemon!"
"An angel!" Davis's jaw practically hit the ground—but then a key thought struck him. "Ophanimon and MagnaAngemon… and Angewomon and Angemon!!!"
With a feral look, Davis grabbed Veemon in both hands. "Veemon, did you hear that?! Next time you'd better evolve into SuperAngemon, got it?!"
He shook Veemon so hard its eyes turned into spinning swirls.
"Air Sefirot Crystal!" Ophanimon clasped her hands to her chest and summoned fifteen crystal spheres, arranging them into the shape of the Tree of Life. One after another, the crystals struck Dark Dagomon's body. Every impact erupted with dazzling holy light, corroding the black flesh and burning out hole after hole.
"Firepower Storm!" WarGreymon's Chrome Digizoid armor shifted and opened, missile ports snapping apart across his body. Endless Greymon Missiles launched in rapid succession. Dark Dagomon whipped its tentacles, detonating the missiles one by one—but each explosion obliterated another tentacle.
"Soul Banish!" MagnaAngemon's left hand blazed with sacred light, firing multiple destructive beams. Wherever they passed, the tentacles melted away like ice against a red-hot brand. With that single technique alone, an uncountable number of tentacles were severed.
"Regalecus Trident!" With savage force, Dark Dagomon hurled a condensed black trident at MagnaAngemon. MagnaAngemon beat his wings and barely dodged it by a hair—but the trident, already past him, curved in midair and shot back toward him again.
"Holy Sword!" A blade of light extended from MagnaAngemon's right hand and collided with the trident. The sheer power drove MagnaAngemon backward through the sky. Sparks sprayed wildly where Holy Sword met the trident, and MagnaAngemon felt an unstoppable pressure surging through it. He couldn't halt his momentum at all—his Holy Sword was even starting to fail, a thin crack creeping along the glowing edge.
"Grah!" WarGreymon raised the Greymon Sword high with both hands and slammed it down onto the trident. The trident was cut cleanly in two. Light flared from MagnaAngemon's wings, purifying the dark power that formed the weapon.
Ophanimon spun Eden's Javelin in her hand, sending wave after wave of holy radiance outward and purifying every tentacle that lunged in. Dark Dagomon roared, then slammed its left hand down at Ophanimon.
Faced with that gigantic palm blotting out the sky, Ophanimon raised both hands and summoned fifteen crystal spheres in the Tree of Life formation again. "Air Sefirot Crystal!" The crystals shrieked through the air and detonated against Dark Dagomon's left hand, blasting it to pieces.
"Gravity Wave!" Tai unleashed destructive sword after sword again. The violently burning blades detonated across Dark Dagomon's body, blasting open hole after hole.
Dark Dagomon howled in madness, flailing both hands as it tried to crush Tai, WarGreymon, Ophanimon, and MagnaAngemon in a frenzy.
"Phantom Slash!" Tai's Holy Sword: Genesis Blade blurred in a rapid storm of strikes. Dozens of sword arcs focused on a single point—Dark Dagomon's right arm was severed cleanly at the shoulder. The torn limb splashed into the sea and dissolved into the black water almost instantly.
"Greymon Flame Sword!" Flames surged along WarGreymon's Greymon Sword as he hacked down hard onto Dark Dagomon's newly regrown left shoulder. A harsh sizzle rang out, and the shoulder dropped away in a clean slice.
Ophanimon and MagnaAngemon exchanged a glance, then began gathering their greatest power at the same time.
"Air Sefirot Crystal!" Ophanimon spread her hands and condensed fifteen massive crystal spheres in front of her, forming a colossal Tree of Life that shone brilliantly. Its light was so intense it completely obscured Ophanimon behind it—only the blazing Tree of Life remained visible.
"Light of Heaven!" MagnaAngemon's entire body—along with the golden wings behind him—began pouring out blinding radiance, gradually forming a gigantic diamond-shaped mirror of light.
The enormous Tree of Life slammed into Dark Dagomon—and right behind it came an unimaginably thick energy wave. The two attacks struck almost simultaneously.
There was no thunderous explosion. No roaring fireball.
Yet every part of Dark Dagomon that touched those two lights simply vanished—silently, cleanly, as if erased from existence.
"ROAR!" Dark Dagomon threw its head back and bellowed, trying to retreat. But behind it, WarGreymon and Tai kept hammering it with attack after attack, forcing its massive body forward. The light in front carried no explosive shockwave—yet it was far more terrifying than the blasts at its back. Dark Dagomon's body had already melted away by more than half, and what remained was disappearing second by second.
But MagnaAngemon couldn't hold on anymore. He was only an Ultimate-level Digimon—his energy reserves simply couldn't match a Mega, even though the battle intensity he was sustaining was on the same level as Ophanimon's. In the end, he released every last drop of light in his body in a single, final burst—one last strike—then his form turned into a streak of golden light that fell from the sky and landed before T.K.
The glow faded, and he had devolved into Tokomon.
"Tokomon… you did great." T.K. gently scooped Tokomon up, comforting him.
"It's okay, T.K…" Tokomon forced his eyes open into a thin slit. After those words, he passed out—the exhaustion was simply too much.
MagnaAngemon's final attack had dealt Dark Dagomon a heavy blow, but it was gone now. With one less pressure pinning it down, Dark Dagomon went berserk, condensing all its remaining energy into a pitch-black shield in front of itself. The Tree of Life shattered the shield almost instantly—but that tiny delay was enough.
Enduring Tai and WarGreymon's relentless attacks, Dark Dagomon forced its core straight into the Dark Ocean. The parts of its body it abandoned were pulverized by the Tree of Life and WarGreymon's Greymon Cannon, then purified into nothingness.
"Evil heart—don't even think about escaping." Ophanimon's entire body radiated sacred light, her voice booming across the Dark Ocean. She raised her holy spear. "Eden's Javelin, grant me the power to purify darkness—Holy Light Descends!"
As Ophanimon's voice rang out, the dark sky that had long been smothered in fog finally cast down a beam of pink light, striking the Eden's Javelin held high in her hand. Bathed in that radiance, the spear lit up from tip to base. One sacred DigiRune after another ignited, lifting off the weapon and circling Ophanimon in glowing rings.
The golden runes spun faster, gathering at the spearhead.
Ophanimon aimed Eden's Javelin at the Dark Ocean and shouted, "Eden's Needle!"
A blinding beam shot straight into the sea. The Dark Ocean—already heaving nonstop from the aftershocks of the Mega-level battle—went perfectly still in an instant. Starting from where the beam struck, the once-pitch-black water turned brilliant and luminous, the light spreading outward at frightening speed.
Stunned, the children watched as the ocean—black from the moment they arrived—became a sea of light. Only a single lump of darkness, not far from the battlefield, was rapidly fleeing away.
"Found you. This time, you're not getting away." Tai flew above the dark mass, his voice steady and absolute.
"Sacred Purple Light!" Ophanimon released a violet beam that shot directly onto Dark Dagomon's escaping remains. Dark Dagomon was horrified to find the purple light bound it completely in place.
"Damn it… damn it! How can I lose to a bunch of brats?!" Dark Dagomon thrashed and screamed, struggling wildly.
"WarGreymon!" Tai shouted.
"Got it, Tai." WarGreymon flew above Dark Dagomon. He withdrew the Greymon Sword and placed it behind him—his armor automatically assembled a sheath, locking the blade away.
WarGreymon spread both arms. The armor on his chest opened wide, revealing an enormous cannon port that took up nearly half his torso. The barrel rose slowly, and then the chest plating braced behind it. Golden light gathered from all across WarGreymon's body, pouring into his chest—until the cannon itself began to shine.
"Infinity Dimensional Energy Cannon—fire!"
With WarGreymon's roar, a spiraling seven-colored blast screamed forward, slamming into Dark Dagomon. Any seawater in its path was instantly vaporized. The seven-colored light struck with overwhelming force, completely swallowing Dark Dagomon whole.
