All of these were the conclusions Uzumaki Kyuushin reached based on his analysis of the situation. After confirming his line of thought, he felt much more at ease.
He looked up and asked Mito, "Grandma, what is the Nine-Tails like?"
"Do you want to see it?" Mito asked him in return.
"Can I?"
"Come." Mito placed her hand on his forehead. "I will take you to see it."
Uzumaki Kyuushin felt his vision blur, and in the next instant, he arrived in a space filled with roiling lava. Strangely, he didn't feel any scorching heat.
Mito appeared beside him. "This is the space where I have sealed the Nine-Tails. Look up."
Kyuushin looked up and saw a large mass of hardened lava suspended in the middle of the space. The Nine-Tails was completely sealed within it. Compared to the seal Naruto would have in later generations, the Nine-Tails at this time appeared utterly miserable. In addition to his four limbs being firmly bound by chakra chains, his head was also locked onto the lava, unable to move. His nine tails and belly were all pierced by sealing script that resembled an extension of Wood Release. The great beast was completely locked in a spread-eagle position, rendered utterly immobile.
"He seems a bit pathetic," Uzumaki Kyuushin said, and he truly meant it.
"The Nine-Tails' power is too strong, so I cannot be careless in the slightest," Mito replied, looking at him with a somewhat strange expression. "You haven't seen the immense power of the Nine-Tails when it's outside. Even Hashirama had to exert a great deal of effort to subdue it."
"The Nine-Tails has intelligence, right? Can it talk to people?" he asked.
"Old woman, is this the next vessel you've chosen?" A deep, tyrannical voice echoed through the space. It seemed the Nine-Tails had discovered them.
"That's right." Uzumaki Kyuushin took a step forward. "Let's get acquainted. My name is Uzumaki Kyuushin, and from now on, I'll be your host."
"Kyuushin..." Mito held him back. "I haven't decided yet."
"Grandma, I'm more suitable than Kushina. Let me do it," he said firmly.
Mito shook her head. "There's no need to rush a decision. Although the Nine-Tails seems docile within me, that's only because I'm restricting him with powerful sealing jutsu. Most people probably can't even get close to it."
"I want to try. Can I look at it up close?"
Mito nodded, and their figures rapidly ascended, reaching the same height as the Nine-Tails before moving closer. At this position, they could already feel the Nine-Tails' vast and tyrannical chakra. Even though Kyuushin was mentally prepared, he still couldn't help but feel a tremor in his heart. The feeling was like an ordinary person standing at the mouth of an impending volcanic eruption, with wave after wave of pressure washing over his spirit.
"How is it?" Mito asked.
"It's indeed very powerful, and also very frightening," Kyuushin replied honestly.
"Come here, little one... come here and let me eat you!" The Nine-Tails' malevolent crimson eyes were fixed on him, its tyrannical voice sounding again.
"This Nine-Tails seems a bit simple-minded," Kyuushin commented.
Mito, who had intended to stand in front of him to shield him from the unsettling gaze, couldn't help but be stunned for a moment. The tyrannical aura seemed to pause, but then it was followed by the Nine-Tails' even greater fury. "Human brat, I'm going to eat you!"
Mito waved her hand, and the oppressive aura couldn't advance. She turned back to Kyuushin. "What do you mean by that?"
Kyuushin spread his hands. "I'm not an idiot. Why would I obediently go over and let him eat me?"
Mito couldn't help but smile at his words. She noticed that Kyuushin didn't seem to feel much fear when facing the Nine-Tails. Instead, he maintained a calm state of mind and even had the presence of mind to joke with her.
Kyuushin looked at the Nine-Tails. "Why do you want to eat me? I'm not the one who locked you up."
"Humans! Damn you all! When I get out, I'll destroy every last one of you!" the Nine-Tails roared.
Kyuushin showed a disappointed expression. "I originally thought the Tailed Beasts were intelligent. Now it seems they're not much different from wild animals."
The Nine-Tails' roars grew louder, but Kyuushin continued, turning to Mito. "Grandma, think about it. The Tailed Beasts have lived for hundreds of years. In such a long time, even a pig would become incredibly powerful. I've heard the legends of the Three Great Sage Regions, founded by a snake, a slug, and a toad. They have lived for thousands of years and are revered as sages. Now look at the Tailed Beasts. They've also lived for so long, yet they've ended up in this state. Don't you think they're brainless? I bet they just eat and sleep all day. What's the difference between them and wild beasts?"
Mito hadn't spoken yet, but the Nine-Tails couldn't hold back anymore. He roared loudly, "Shut up, human! If I hadn't encountered those two, how would I have ended up like this!"
"And you say 'humans'. Have you ever stopped to think that two mere humans cultivated for only a few decades, while you've wasted hundreds or thousands of years? You can't even defeat two humans, so who can you blame for ending up in this situation?"
The Nine-Tails was practically fuming. In all his long years, it was the first time he had heard someone talk to him like that. But he couldn't come up with any counter-arguments, only impotent rage.
Mito, on the other hand, laughed heartily after hearing Kyuushin's words.
After deciding to become the Jinchuriki, Kyuushin's first problem was how to get along with the Nine-Tails. He was very different from Naruto and couldn't use the same innocent, outgoing approach. He had to resort to unconventional tactics. The Nine-Tails was rebellious, arrogant, and a classic tsundere. Trying to please it would only earn its disdain. Only by acting differently, by severely provoking it, would it take him seriously. This was how Naruto had eventually won its cooperation.
These words were all part of a deliberate plan to crush the beast's arrogance and incite its curiosity. Once the Nine-Tails felt that Kyuushin was different from other Jinchuriki, there would be an opportunity for a real dialogue. In addition, Kyuushin knew the Nine-Tails could sense the malice people had towards it. But since he came from another world, he genuinely held no ill will. Who doesn't love a giant, fluffy creature? The Nine-Tails was still in a rage now, but later, it would surely sense his lack of malice and become curious. And once curiosity arose, that would be the beginning of it falling into his trap.
*Hmm? That last word seems a bit inappropriate.*
