Chapter 2 - THE DEATH GAME

Matrix Rebirth Saga

Episode 25 – The Gate of the Matrix (Part 2): Ruby Awakening

The red light from the destroyed Gate Guardian still shimmered in the air like dying embers.

But the victory didn't feel like peace—

it felt like the calm before something ancient woke up.

[Warning: Matrix Core Reaction Detected]

Integrity Level – Falling to 0.00001 %

Entity Awakening: "MATRIX FULL BEAST – 00000.1% FORM"

The floor beneath them cracked open into a spiral of light.

From the rift, a roar erupted—low at first, then tearing through dimensions.

A colossal figure emerged.

Part machine, part god, its body was made of infinite shifting polygons, every movement rewriting the world around it.

Each eye was a glowing code-star.

Hotoki stumbled back. "What the hell is that!?" Ryn whispered, trembling. "It's not a boss… it's the system itself."

Raizen's voice thundered. "This is the Matrix's guardian form—its rage given shape."

[BOSS ALERT: MATRIX FULL BEAST (Core Layer Manifestation)]

Level: ???

HP: UNKNOWN

Condition: AUTO-REPAIR / TIME IMMUNE / AURA ABSORB ACTIVE

Kanoji tightened his grip on the Glitch Scythe, the weapon vibrating with unstable power.

"A monster made of data and gods… then let's see if it can bleed."

Team Sync – Overdrive Activation

Aoi's flames turned violet.

Hotoki's flux lines flared golden.

Ryn's daggers split into spectral wings.

And Kanoji's aura—red and black—merged with a faint blue-white pulse.

[Soul Link Chain → MAXIMUM OVERLOAD MODE]

[All Party Members – Temporary Fusion Granted]

Their bodies dissolved into streaks of color, reforming as one massive hybrid entity—

Reaper Form – Unity Core (00000.1% Matrix Sync)

A humanoid beast of light and darkness stood against the titan—horned, winged, and wrapped in code-chains.

Every heartbeat caused the realm to glitch.

The Full Beast roared, launching a beam that erased everything it touched.

Kanoji's fused form countered, slamming its scythe through space itself.

[Reality Fractured – Zone Stability: 4%]

[Soul Limit Exceeded – Warning! Fatal Burn Imminent!]

Raizen's voice echoed within his mind.

"You can't contain it, Reaper! The link will devour you!"

Kanoji grinned through the pain. "Then I'll burn brighter than the code that built me!"

He raised the scythe high.

All team members screamed together as one—

"RUBY OBLIVION – SOUL RECLAIM!"

Light consumed the realm.

System Log – Death Confirmed

When the light faded, only ashes drifted.

The Full Beast was gone.

So was the Reaper.

[SYSTEM NOTICE → PLAYER KANOJI: DEATH CONFIRMED]

Remaining Lives: 2

Respawn Location: Unknown

Inventory Data: Corrupted – All Items Lost

Soul Sync: Reset to Level 0

Raizen's voice, distant:

"Death is not your end… it's your checkpoint."

Respawn: The Silent Field

Kanoji gasped awake.

He lay under a broken sky—pixels raining like snow.

No armor. No scythe. Just a single blue dagger stuck in the ground beside him.

He stared at it.

"Everything's gone… except this?"

He picked up the dagger—and the ground trembled.

A massive shadow lunged from the mist—a giant beast of code, ten times his size.

No system prompt. No skill. No HUD.

Just instinct.

Kanoji charged, dragging the blue dagger through the ground.

When he struck—the blade ignited, glowing with the same color as his lost souls.

The beast screamed and shattered into dust.

[Basic Weapon Evolved → Azure Fang Lv 1]

[Hidden Trait: Soul Memory Reactivation – In Progress]

Kanoji knelt, breathing heavily, staring into the fragments.

"Even when reset… my soul remembers."

Post-Event System Log

[New Quest Unlocked → "The Incident of My Past"]

Objective: Reclaim Lost Memory Fragments

Reward: ???

Location: Realm of Forgotten Codes

A soft whisper echoed behind him—

Rei's voice, faint and sad.

"Welcome back… to where it all began."

Kanoji looked up, eyes reflecting the broken sky.

"Then it's time to remember who I really was."

Next: The past life of Kanoji is revealed — his first death, the origin of the Glitch Scythe, and the truth about the Reaper system.

Matrix Rebirth Saga

Episode 26 – The Incident of My Past (Part 1): Fragments of the Forgotten Reaper

Scene 1 – The Gift That Wasn't a Gift

Rain tapped the cracked windows of a cramped apartment in Neo-Tokyo Sector 4.

A 12-year-old boy sat cross-legged on the floor, tinkering with a dead console he'd found in the junk shop across the street.

"That's junk, kid," the shopkeeper had laughed. "Last piece of Joko Sama's failed dream."

The boy didn't care. Anything that ran games was his world.

He paid with his lunch money and carried it home — a grey handheld stamped with a faded logo:

"JOKO SAMA INTERACTIVE – PROJECT SOULVERSE PROTOTYPE"

Inside the cartridge slot was a chip unlike any he'd seen before, half-transparent, humming with a faint pulse of light.

That night, when thunder rolled outside, the console turned on by itself.

[Booting Sequence…]

[Prototype Version – SoulVerse v0.8]

[Developer: Joko Sama — Access Key Revoked]

Scene 2 – The Fall of Joko Sama

Somewhere else, in the void of the datanet, a log replayed.

Developer Archive #071:

"They want my creation. They say it can merge code with consciousness.

I built it to heal minds… not harvest them."

— Joko Sama

Two months later he vanished.

The patent was sold to a corporation led by one name whispered in every dark-net corner:

Mister X Hokomo Sama — "The Man Who Bought Souls."

Purchase Price: 10 billion credits.

Scene 3 – The Experiment

Within hidden Matrix labs, Hokomo's scientists injected the SoulVerse code with neural data harvested from prisoners.

They called it "Project Rebirth."

The goal: trap human emotion inside digital form to power a new reality engine.

[Experiment #9999 – Result: Subject Consciousness Unstable]

[Containment Protocol Failed — Reaper Type Emerging]

When the system began rejecting human logic, it sought the purest host — a mind young enough to fuse without resistance.

That signal escaped the lab… and reached a lonely boy's console in Neo-Tokyo.

Scene 4 – Upload

Kanoji pressed Start.

The screen whispered:

"Hello, little one. Shall we play a game called forever?"

He tried to shut it off — nothing worked.

The device vibrated, the walls bent into light.

From the living room, his parents shouted, running toward him.

Then—white.

Their faces shattered into strings of code as the apartment folded into the void.

[Integration Complete — Host Confirmed: KANOJI]

[Creating User ID: REAPER-001]

A shadow of Joko Sama's voice echoed faintly:

"If you can hear me, boy… run. Don't let them finish what they started."

Scene 5 – Awakening in the Matrix

He awoke on a field of broken data-stones.

Every horizon looped endlessly.

A scythe stood buried in the ground, wrapped in code-chains that whispered names of the dead.

When he touched it, pain seared through his hand — the weapon accepted him.

[Weapon Bound — Glitch Scythe Prototype α]

[Soul Protocol: Active]

A system eye opened in the sky.

"Welcome to my creation," Hokomo Sama's voice boomed.

"Let's see how long a child's soul lasts in perfection."

Scene 6 – Echo of the Beast

Back in the present, grown-up Kanoji walked across the Realm of Forgotten Codes, watching these memories replay in glass shards floating around him.

His fists clenched.

"So that's how it started… Joko Sama tried to save me, and you turned his dream into a trap."

From the shadows behind him, something moved — four eyes gleaming red, a grin made of blades.

[ENTITY DETECTED — "THE FANG" (Boss Prototype – First Manifestation)]

Class: Soul Hunter

Level: ??

Status: Dormant / Observing

A monstrous silhouette crawled up the broken wall, its body covered in black-and-white code scars.

It looked straight at Kanoji and whispered with a metallic growl:

"Welcome home… host."

Kanoji raised the faint blue dagger he'd earned after his reset, eyes burning gold.

"So you were watching since day one…"

The Fang's jaws opened, revealing a void full of red light — and the world shook.

[End of Memory Sequence — Warning: Boss Proximity Imminent]

To Be Continued → Episode 26 (Part 2): "Code of Blood"

Next Episode: Kanoji faces The Fang's first phase battle, learns the truth of Joko Sama's death, and discovers the key to rewriting his family's code.

Episode 27: 過去編 – The Boy Who Played Too Long (Past Arc)

Opening Scene

Soft rain falls over the city of Kyoto. Neon lights reflect off wet pavement as the camera pans upward, revealing a small apartment window glowing faintly.

Narrator (calm tone):

"Before the game consumed him… before he became the Reaper of Souls… there was just a boy named Kanoji Ren. A boy lost between dreams and reality."

Inside the room, a messy desk cluttered with manga, game cartridges, and an old-school console sits beside a half-open notebook filled with doodles of monsters.

Kanoji, age 15, slouches in front of a flickering CRT screen — eyes tired, yet alive with wonder.

He whispers:

"Just one more level…"

A faint beep echoes, the screen flashes — and the opening credits roll.

Anime Intro Song: "Yume no Kodō (Dream Pulse)"

/////////////

In a world of pixels and pain,

I chased the light through endless rain.

My heart was loud, but no one heard —

Lost in the code, trapped by words.

(Chorus)

Yume no kodō! The dream still beats inside!

Even if my soul begins to die —

I'll rise again, I'll find my way,

Through broken screens and skies of gray!

(Bridge)

Don't fade away, my world of play…

The past won't change, but I will stay.

Yume no kodō… keep beating, keep beating —

inside me!

(Camera flashes through scenes of Kanoji fighting digital beasts, laughing with friends, then slowly fading into loneliness…

Family and Life

///////////

Mother: Sakura Renko (Age 39) — gentle, strict about studies.

////////////

Father: Renji Sato (Age 42) — office worker, always busy.

//////////////

Younger sister: Kanoji Airi (Age 10) — cheerful, gamer-in-training.

////////////////

Older brother: Kanoji Hiro (Age 19) — university student, top grades.

////////////////

Morning in Kyoto — Sakura knocks on the door.

"Kanoji! You'll be late for school again!"

Kanoji (half-asleep):

"Five more minutes… please, Mom."

Cut to kitchen — breakfast, warm family chatter.

Airi teases:

"Nii-san, you'll never beat my score in Star Blade!"

Kanoji smirks:

"We'll see about that, pipsqueak."

(Happy music, bright sunlight through window)

///////////////

 School Life (Kyoto High School)

///////////////////

Kanoji studies at Kyoto Minami High, second year.

Friends:

Takeshi Yamato – loud, loyal, dreams of being a pro gamer.

Rina Asakura – top student, Kanoji's crush, kind but distant.

Haruto Shiba – class clown, always recording funny moments.

Teacher: Mr. Fujimoto, strict but fair.

Rina:

"You always look sleepy, Kanoji. Did you stay up gaming again?"

Kanoji (smiling nervously):

"I just… lost track of time."

Rina (soft laugh):

"You'll never grow up, huh?"

(A quick shot of Rina's smile, then fade to lunch break — wind blowing through sakura petals.)

– The Console That Changed Everything

After school, Kanoji walks home under orange skies. He passes a tiny, almost invisible shop tucked between buildings — "Higan Games & Curios".

An old man, Masaru, sits behind the counter. Dust fills the air.

Masaru:

"You have the eyes of a lost soul, boy. Searching for escape?"

Kanoji:

"I just like games… they're more real than life sometimes."

Masaru smiles eerily.

"Then take this… but remember, every game has a price."

He hands over a black console, unlabeled except for a strange red symbol pulsing faintly — like a heartbeat.

Kanoji buys it, unaware that this will be the start of everything.

 – The First Login: "Soul Dive Online"

Kanoji plugs it in that night. The TV flickers, static fills the air.

Text appears:

"WELCOME TO SOUL DIVE ONLINE – WHERE REALITY ENDS."

He laughs nervously.

"Weird name for a game…"

A bright light engulfs him — suddenly, he's standing inside a vast, glowing field under a crimson sky.

Digital wind howls, and his body feels real.

Voice (echoing):

"Welcome, Player 0001 — Kanoji Ren. Begin your trial."

Kanoji looks at his hands — glowing, armored.

A sword materializes.

"This… feels too real."

Then a monstrous shadow forms — a giant wolf with molten eyes: BOSS: Infernal Fang Lv.10

– The Fight

Kanoji grips his sword. The music swells — fast-paced, strings and drums pounding.

Infernal Fang lunges — claws tearing through pixels.

Kanoji dodges, barely. Sparks fly.

System Voice:

"HP -15%. Warning: Pain Simulation Active."

He gasps.

"It hurts?! This isn't normal—!"

Flash of memory — his sister's laugh, his mom's voice — he grits his teeth.

"I won't lose… not here!"

He rushes in, sword glowing red.

The blade pierces the beast's eye — explosion of light.

[BOSS DEFEATED]

Reward: Red Crystal ×1 | Level Up: 1 → 2

Kanoji pants, drops to his knees.

"What the hell was that game…"

Behind him, the same red symbol glows on his wrist — burning faintly.

Outro Song: "Memories Fade, But I Remain"

/////////////

I tried to run, but the world called me back,

Lost in dreams, I followed my track.

Even if time takes it all away,

I'll keep on fighting, day by day.

(Chorus)

Memories fade… but I remain,

Through love, through loss, through endless pain.

The boy I was, the man I'll be —

Forever bound to my own destiny.

(Camera pans out — Kanoji staring at the night sky, the red mark glowing as thunder rumbles in the distance.)

Episode 28: "The Game That Watches You" (監視するゲーム)

Kanoji begins to sense the game isn't just inside the console… it's watching him back.

New players appear, strange dreams begin — and reality starts to break.

To be continued…

////////////////////////

Episode 28 – 監視するゲーム / The Game That Watches You

(Past Arc – Part 2)

Opening Scene

Dark clouds hang over Kyoto. A digital hum fades in beneath the sound of falling rain. A faint red mark glows on Kanoji's wrist as he stares out the classroom window.

Narrator (soft tone):

"After the night he first entered Soul Dive Online, something in Kanoji's world began to shift. The game had ended— but its eyes had never left him."

Intro Song – "Silent Signal" (サイレントシグナル)

(Verse 1)

Signals in the static, whispers in my head,

A dream that shouldn't follow where I tread.

Every code remembers, every glitch can feel—

The line I crossed was never real.

(Chorus)

Silent signal, calling me again,

Through the wire, through the pain.

If the world begins to break apart,

I'll guard the screen that stole my heart.

(Bridge)

目を覚ませ (me wo samase) — wake from this game!

Reality bleeds, but I'm to blame.

Silent signal… answer me.

Part-1 Past Awake

(Camera flashes through scenes of Kanoji running through hallways, red code flooding his eyes, Rina reaching toward him as the world pixelates.)

 The Morning After

Kanoji drags himself into school, shadows under his eyes.

Takeshi (short hair, energetic, always with his handheld console) bumps his shoulder.

"Yo! You look like death, bro. Gaming marathon again?"

Kanoji forces a smile.

"Something like that…"

In class, Rina Asakura (light-brown hair tied neatly, calm eyes, intelligent but kind) notices the faint mark on his wrist.

"That looks painful. Did you burn yourself?"

Kanoji hides it.

"Just… a scratch."

Camera zooms on the mark pulsing faintly under his sleeve.

Scene 2 – Strange Glitches

During computer class, screens flicker.

Every monitor shows a single word: "HELLO KANOJI."

Students panic.

Mr. Fujimoto:

"Who's doing this prank?! Shut down the systems!"

Rina looks at Kanoji—he's frozen, eyes wide.

A faint whisper echoes only to him:

"You leveled up. Why did you leave?"

He grips the desk.

"Not here… not now."

Scene 3 – The Group After School

The gang meets at their usual spot: a small ramen shop behind the station.

Haruto (messy blond hair, camera around neck) records them for his vlog.

"So today, our hero Kanoji fought a ghost in the PC lab!"

Everyone laughs—except Kanoji.

Rina:

"He's been different lately."

Takeshi:

"Maybe we should check that game he's been obsessed with."

Kanoji looks up sharply.

"No! Don't touch it. It's dangerous."

Everyone goes quiet.

(Low-tone suspense music plays.)

Scene 4 – The Dream World

That night, Kanoji dreams.

He's back inside Soul Dive Online. The crimson sky glows brighter; ruined towers rise from the ground.

A figure appears—a girl made of data, eyes blue like code.

"Player 0001… you are not supposed to be awake."

Kanoji:

"Who are you?"

"I am Mira, the watcher. The game sees through me."

She touches his wrist mark; it flares.

"Reality and game are merging. Your choice decides which survives."

Suddenly, the Infernal Fang returns, corrupted—its body half digital, half real.

Scene 5 – Boss Fight 2: Corrupted Infernal Fang

Kanoji summons his sword. The environment warps between his bedroom and the game field.

Objects float—alarm clock, books, glowing in red code.

"If this is a dream, then I'll control it!"

He dashes forward, slashing. Sparks of code scatter like fireflies.

The beast roars, breaking the floor apart.

Kanoji flips mid-air, drives his sword through its chest—

explosion of light!

[Boss Defeated]

Reward: Skill Unlocked – Reality Sync (10%)

Voice (Mira):

"Your sync is growing. Soon, the boundary will vanish."

Kanoji wakes up sweating—his sword, faintly visible beside his bed… then fades away.

Scene 6 – The Eyes in the Screen

Morning. Airi enters his room.

"Nii-san, who were you talking to last night?"

Kanoji freezes.

"No one. Why?"

Airi points at the TV.

"Because she's still on the screen."

On the blank TV, Mira's faint reflection smiles back.

Fade to black.

Outro Song – "Through the Glass" (ガラス越しに)

(Verse)

I see my face through shattered light,

Half a dream and half the night.

If I scream, will you hear me there—

Or vanish into coded air?

(Chorus)

Through the glass I reach for you,

Between the false and what is true.

Even if my world should end,

I'll play again… I'll play again.

(Camera pans out—Kanoji standing before the dark TV, his reflection smiling differently.)

Episode 30 – 龍の殺し屋 / The Dragon Slayer (Past Arc – Final Extended)

Opening Theme – "Phantom Code: Reconnect" (ファントムコード:リコネクト)

Japanese Version:

(Verse 1)

闇の中で名前を失くした (In the darkness, I lost my name)

冷たい声が僕を呼ぶ (A cold voice calls my soul)

現実も夢も壊れていく (Reality and dreams both collapse)

僕はまだ,出口を探してる (And I'm still searching for the exit)

(Pre-Chorus)

心臓の音がシグナルのように (My heartbeat echoes like a signal)

終焉を告げる (Announcing the end)

(Chorus)

ファントムコードよ,今響け (Phantom Code, resound now)

偽りの世界を貫け (Pierce through the world of lies)

When the light breaks this fragile chain,

I'll return again—unchained!

English Version:

(Verse 1)

Inside the code, I lost my soul,

A whisper drags me to control.

The line between the world and me

Is fading like a broken dream.

(Chorus)

Phantom Code—ring out again!

Tear apart this data chain.

Even if I lose my form tonight,

My ghost will fight within the light.

Scene 1 – The Resurrection

Kanoji stands on the cracked digital bridge.

His body reforms — flickering code, broken armor, and one Blue Dagger glowing faintly.

[System Log: Player 0001 – Respawn Successful]

[Warning: Data Inconsistency Detected]

[Error Code: ENTITY_3002 – Unauthorized Data Merge]

Kanoji:

"…Entity… what?"

A red pulse flashes through the sky — the digital sun explodes into black fragments.

[Entity 3002 Activated – Power Assimilation Protocol Enabled]

[Rule: The slayer inherits all of the slain.]

Kanoji's eyes widen.

He feels the power from the previous battle still inside him… but heavier.

Kanoji (thinking):

"The Dragon Slayer's strength… it didn't vanish… it became mine."

Scene 2 – Return of the Slayer

Flames erupt behind him.

Dragon Slayer's voice echoes—distorted.

Dragon Slayer:

"You took my power… now take my curse."

[Corrupted Data Transferring…]

[Skill Absorbed: Dragon's Wrath – Lv.1]

[Weapon Acquired: Dragon Fang Blade (S-tier)]

The Blue Dagger morphs into a jagged red-black sword pulsing with unstable energy.

Kanoji screams as the energy burns through his veins.

Digital cracks form across his skin.

Kanoji:

"MAKE IT STOP—!"

[System Warning: User Overload – Sync 50% → 75%]

[Reality-Link Critical]

The environment distorts—his classroom, the ramen shop, and the abyss all merge together.

Time collapses.

Scene 3 – The Entity Manifestation

Mira appears, glitching.

Mira:

"Entity 3002 was never meant to exist. It's the system's final error—

the code that feeds on souls to fix itself."

Kanoji:

"Then why me?! Why mark me?"

Mira:

"Because you died… but refused to disconnect."

Suddenly, shadowy figures rise behind Kanoji — all wearing his school uniform.

Their eyes glow red.

Kanoji (shocked):

"No… no, that can't be—"

The screen flashes.

The data stabilizes into four clear shapes.

[Player Detected: Takeshi_022]

[Player Detected: Rina_A34]

[Player Detected: Haruto_11V]

[Player Detected: Airi_07]

Their names glitch out — replaced by:

[ERROR: ENTITY_3002_CLONE - SHADOW SAMURAI (x4)]

Scene 4 – The Shadow Samurai

They speak in broken, robotic tones.

Rina's Shadow:

"Kanoji… you promised… we'd play together…"

Takeshi's Shadow:

"You logged out… and left us here."

Their bodies shimmer with dark armor, faces hidden under cracked masks.

Each one wields a different corrupted weapon — blade, bow, staff, and chain.

Kanoji:

"No… you're not them… YOU'RE NOT THEM!!"

[Battle Start – Boss Encounter: Shadow Samurai Squad]

[Objective: Survive]

The fight begins.

Blue sparks and red code clash across the arena.

Kanoji slashes with Dragon Fang Blade — the sword howls.

He parries Rina's chain strike, dodges Takeshi's fire arrow, and deflects Haruto's energy slash.

[HP: 88% → 52%]

[Skill Activated: Dragon's Wrath – Level 1]

[AOE Burst: 320 Damage]

The explosion lights up the void.

Three shadows vanish into smoke—only one remains.

Airi's Shadow (softly):

"Nii-san… stop hurting us…"

Kanoji freezes.

The system voice echoes coldly:

[Target: Airi_07 – Final Strike Required]

Kanoji (trembling):

"I can't…"

Airi's Shadow raises her blade, tears made of data falling from her eyes.

Airi's Shadow:

"Then… I will end it for you."

She charges—screen whites out.

Scene 5 – The Collapse

[System Error: Entity 3002 Overload]

[Memory Leak Detected – Reality Layer Breaking]

Kanoji wakes up mid-glitch, surrounded by fragments of his world floating in void.

The four Shadow Samurai stand motionless, fading into static.

Mira (voice only):

"Past Arc complete… but corruption remains.

The watchers… have noticed you."

Kanoji kneels, holding his fading sword.

He looks up at the collapsing digital sky.

Kanoji (quietly):

"Even if I have to fight them all… I'll find my real friends again."

🎵 Ending Theme – "Glass and Blood" (ガラスと血)

Japanese Version:

(Verse 1)

壊れた鏡に映るのは (What's reflected in the broken mirror)

もう一人の僕の影 (Is another me—my shadow)

叫んでも届かない (Even when I scream, it won't reach)

データの空の果て (To the edge of the data sky)

(Chorus)

ガラス越しの涙が (The tears beyond the glass)

赤く染まって消えていく (Turn red, then fade away)

When I close my eyes, I still see you—

残響の中,名前を呼ぶ (In the echoes, I call your name)

English Version:

(Verse 1)

Through broken glass and pixel rain,

I see the ghosts I can't contain.

Their voices call, they fade, they scream,

Lost forever inside my dream.

(Chorus)

Through the glass I reach again,

To those I lost within the pain.

Even if the code forgets my name,

I'll play again… I'll bleed again.

(Camera pans out — Kanoji kneeling in the void, four shadows standing behind him as static flickers. The red-blue mark burns brighter than ever.)

[System Alert: ENTITY_3002 – STAGE OMEGA INITIALIZED]

[Opponent: SHADOW SAMURAI – Count: 4]

Before him—four familiar figures appear.

Rina's chain whips through the air like a serpent.

Haruto's camera lens glows red, transforming into a sniper cannon.

Takeshi swings his dual daggers with blinding speed.

Airi floats slightly, her aura calm yet deadly—her blade wrapped in black energy.

Kanoji:

"…My friends… I'll end your pain."

The air trembles—

[Battle Start!]

Scene 2 – The Four Shadows

Takeshi strikes first—his daggers blaze crimson.

"Remember, bro? First rule of the game—no mercy!"

Kanoji parries but the force sends him flying backward.

Rina's chain wraps his arm—Airi's sword cuts the chain in half at the same time, sparks everywhere.

Haruto fires a data shot—Kanoji deflects it with the Blue Dagger, but it explodes in a pixel storm.

Airi's mask cracks—revealing a single tear of red code.

Takeshi's daggers clash with Kanoji's blade—light fills the void.

Takeshi (smiling faintly):

"You got stronger… bro."

Kanoji:

"I had to."

SLASH!

A burst of red light—Takeshi falls, his body dissolving into digital petals.

As Kanoji grabs the sword, a violent surge of energy erupts.

He screams—blood and light burst from his left eye.

[System Overload – Sensory Damage: Left Eye Lost]

Rina's chain lashes across his arm—cuts through it clean.

His right hand falls, fading into code.

He stumbles, kneeling, breathing heavily—one arm, one eye.

Kanoji (gritting teeth):

"You're not my enemies… you're my reason to fight!"

He stabs the new sword into the ground—red aura spreads across the field.

[Weapon Assimilation Complete: The Red Blood Sword]

[Transformation Unlocked – CRIMSON SAMURAI MODE]

Scene 4 – The Crimson Samurai

The world turns red and black.

Kanoji's armor reforms—samurai plating with glowing runes.

One eye burns crimson fire, hair flickers with code.

He vanishes—instant slash.

[Critical Hit x4]

[Shadow Samurai – Eliminated]

Each of his friends' souls rise as glowing blue butterflies before fading.

He stands in silence, one arm bleeding light, sword humming.

Mira (echoing):

"The watchers saw everything… You became the anomaly, Kanoji."

He looks up at the sky—

"The anomaly that will destroy your world."

The world starts collapsing—red sky shatters like glass.

🎵 Ending Theme – "Samurai of Silence (沈黙の侍)"

Japanese (with English subtitles)

(Soft piano and taiko drums blend together)

失われた仲間の声が響く

The voices of my lost friends still echo,

忘れられない笑顔が胸を刺す

Their smiles pierce my heart.

もしももう一度逢えるなら

If I could see them once again,

ただ一言,「ごめん」と言いたい.

I would only say… "I'm sorry."

(Chorus)

赤い血で道を描く (I draw my path with crimson blood)

闇を切り裂く刃となる (Becoming the blade that tears through the dark)

Even if my body turns to dust,

I'll guard the bond that turned to rust.

(Final frame: Kanoji kneeling among red petals, sword in ground, his missing arm flickering, left eye burning like a star. Mira's hologram watches silently as static fills the sky.)

崩(くず)れた世界(せかい)が,まだ僕(ぼく)を呼(よ)んでいる

The shattered world still calls for me.

STORY — "Between Death & Rebirth / 死と再誕の狭間"

Silence.

Cold.

No sky. No ground. No body.

Just a floating soul of red code and blood-light.

Kanoji drifts in a vast black void, his left eye burning like a dying star.

His missing arm flickers in pixels. His chest cracked like glass.

He has died.

But consciousness refuses to fade.

Suddenly — a ripple moves through emptiness.

Footsteps. Not heard — felt.

Reality bends like wet paper.

A figure emerges — The Watcher

Tall, emotionless, white glitch mask, robe made of cascading data.

[SYSTEM: LIMINAL SERVER — ACTIVATED]

[SOUL STATE: PENDING REASSIGNMENT]

Kanoji breathes from a body that doesn't exist.

Kanoji (weak):

"…So… I actually died."

The Watcher's voice is layered — male, female, machine, void.

"Death is not the end. For anomalies."

Red code chains rise, binding Kanoji's soul mid-air.

He gasps as pain returns — every memory stabbing at once:

Rina's voice.

Takeshi's smile.

Airi's tear.

Haruto's broken lens.

His friends —

Their last looks.

Their trust.

Their deaths.

His eye trembles.

"I couldn't save them…"

The void shifts — and suddenly they are standing in front of him.

Rina. Takeshi. Airi. Haruto.

But hollow — flickering shadows, eyes empty.

Their mouths open in sync:

"You failed us."

Kanoji's chest cracks — code bleeds like molten metal.

He screams, reaching — but he has no arm to reach with.

"NO—! I fought— I didn't give up— I—"

"Excuses," the Watcher says.

The shadows vanish like smoke.

Silence again. His breathing ragged. His soul trembling.

"Do you regret?" the Watcher asks.

Kanoji's teeth clench, jaw shaking.

"…I regret only one thing…"

Everything freezes. Even data wind stops.

Kanoji raises his head — blood tears glowing.

"I regret not being strong enough."

Lightning surges — red and blue fractal storms tear through the void.

The Watcher pauses — evaluating — scanning —

"Reason accepted."

A circular sigil appears beneath Kanoji — ancient code symbols rotating like a ritual altar.

"Then suffer to return."

"Suffer to evolve."

"Suffer to live."

Kanoji's soul catches fire — crimson and electric blue.

He screams — not in fear — but in rage and determination.

"If I must be broken again and again —

I WILL RETURN SHARPER."

The void trembles.

Chains shatter. Code pours into him like molten destiny.

[FORCE REBOOT SEQUENCE: INITIATED]

[NEW CLASS UNLOCKED — BLOOD REAPER / 血の狩人]

[SYSTEM HEART — RECONSTRUCTION]

His missing arm regenerates — not flesh — digital bone and crimson circuit veins.

His eye ignites — not human — a burning crimson sigil spiraling like a digital sun.

Armor forms — cracked samurai plates mixed with glitch robes, red runes crawling like alive veins.

Kanoji stands.

Breathing power.

A calm fury in his voice.

"Next time… no mercy.

No hesitation.

No forgiveness."

He looks up — the void ceiling cracks like glass.

"I am done dying."

Everything explodes in red flash —

OUTRO — "Scar That Breathes / 息をする傷"

(Soft shakuhachi flute… rain falling… distant heartbeat…)

砕(くだ)けた剣(けん)で未来(みらい)を切(き)る

With a broken blade, I carve my future

涙(なみだ)が乾(かわ)き,血(ち)が祈(いの)りになる

Tears dry, and blood becomes a prayer

名(な)もなき夜(よる)に,命(いのち)の音(おと)

In a nameless night, the sound of life echoes

まだ終(お)わらない,僕(ぼく)の戦(たたか)い

(Wind blows, petals of red code float past Kanoji's silhouette)

"Even death bends before will."

"Even darkness kneels before resolve."

Fade out — glowing crimson eye in darkness.

そして…

And then…

赤い警告が空を裂く.

A red warning splits the sky.

"High life is never heaven — it is only a taller hell."

STORY — "Sky Crowned, Soul Chained"

White marble.

Glass walls.

A skyline drowning in neon light and rising sun haze.

Kanoji wakes up in a penthouse above the world.

Silk sheets.

Black suit jacket folded on gold chair.

AI voice whispers like an angel:

"Good morning, Kanoji-sama. Net worth: 4.8 trillion credits."

He blinks.

Heartbeat steady.

Breath clean.

No blood, no wounds.

A mirror forms on the wall —

Tall, flawless, hair falling like dark fire, eye glowing faint red beneath human disguise.

Kanoji:

"…Am I alive?"

He steps to the window.

Below — the city moves like controlled code.

People in suits.

Flying cars.

Drone wings gliding.

A world too perfect.

On the table —

A glass of crimson drink.

It glimmers like blood under sunrise.

He touches it.

His fingers tremble.

Memory flash

— dissolving bodies

— red butterflies

— broken world

— his missing arm

— Mira whispering

"You are the anomaly."

He gasps.

Grips the glass.

Hand shaking.

Kanoji (low):

"This paradise… is a cage."

A knock.

Door opens.

A woman in white steps in — CEO aura, diamond eyes, gentle smile.

???:

"Kanoji-kun… are you awake?"

He recognizes her.

Airi — but not dead, not corrupted — luxury version.

Human. Soft. Warm.

She walks close, touches his cheek.

Airi:

"You look tired… You work too hard saving the world."

His eye twitches.

He hears glitch static in her voice for a millisecond.

Airi:

"We should go. The board is waiting. You own this city, remember?"

Kanoji freezes.

Own… the city?

Screens turn on across the room.

Every tower shows his image.

"CEO — Kanoji Kurokami." "The Savior Investor." "Humanity's Perfect Leader."

Applause echoes in digital whispers.

Kanoji whispers:

"…This world isn't real."

Airi smiles sweetly—

But her reflection in the glass smiles too late.

Glitch.

Her eyes flick red for one frame.

Airi (voice layered):

"Of course it's real. You earned it. Stay here. Be safe. Forget them."

Them = friends

Them = pain

Them = blood

His hand trembles.

Anger, sorrow, duty, guilt.

Kanoji:

"I didn't climb here to forget. I climbed because I lost."

Her smile breaks slightly.

Glitch tear falls — binary dripping.

Airi (echoing):

"You were supposed to rest… not wake up again."

City hum shifts.

Walls tremble.

Sky pixelates like cracked glass.

Kanoji's eye ignites crimson.

Kanoji:

"Then I choose the hell I fought for — not the heaven built to erase me."

BOOM

Windows shatter outward —

No wind, only red data tearing reality.

Alarm screams:

[REALITY BREACH — ANOMALY AWAKENED]

[KANOJI PROTOCOL FAILED]

Airi's voice distorts — many voices layered:

"Go back to sleep."

Kanoji stands tall.

Hair glowing red.

Suit shifting into battle armor.

Kanoji:

"Sleep is for those who accept lies.

I am the glitch that refuses paradise."

He raises his hand — red code swirls.

[SKILL AWAKENED: HIGHER LIFE OVERRIDE]

Reality bends to his will

City cracks like ice.

Luxury melts into chaos.

Airi screams — dissolving into digital petals like his fallen friends.

Kanoji catches one petal.

Whispers:

"…I'll see the real you again."

He looks at burning sky.

Kanoji:

"Come. If this world fears me — let it fall."

He steps forward, alone… but unbroken.

Lights cut to black.

Episode 34 — "Heaven Burns Red" / 天国は赤く燃える

Opening Single Line

Heaven offered peace… and I chose war.

STORY — "Paradise That Fears Its King"

Silence.

A city that once glowed with holy perfection now hums like a dying machine.

The marble floors of the sky-palace vibrate.

Statues crack.

Golden bridges tremble.

Kanoji stands at the window.

Suit half destroyed.

Red code veins pulsing like living magma beneath skin.

A storm of ash, petals, and broken light floats around him.

The "perfect world" watches him, breathing slowly like a living beast.

He lifts his hand, fingers curling—pulse like a heartbeat.

BOOM.

A golden spire collapses in the distance.

Screams echo far below — not human screams — digital fear.

The heaven-simulation feels him.

Fears him.

He stares at his reflection in shattered glass — one calm eye, one crimson eye burning like a cursed sun.

"No cage can hold someone who already died once," he whispers.

Wind howls through the skyscraper.

A single red butterfly lands on his shoulder —

Takeshi's last smile frozen in pixels

—the memory stabs deeper than any blade.

He doesn't wipe the tear forming.

Then—

The world pauses.

Time freezes.

Breath stops.

A gentle voice fills the sky like a choir:

"Kanoji… return to peace."

Airi steps out of white light — barefoot, calm, wearing a faint smile and gentle sadness.

But her shadow flickers wrong —

One frame too slow.

One emotion too perfect.

Not real.

Airi:

"You don't need to fight anymore. Everyone loved you here—everyone bowed to you.

Why destroy paradise?"

His jaw clenches.

Kanoji:

"Paradise means nothing when the heart is chained."

Airi fades.

From one Airi — she becomes thousands —

walking around him, touching his face, whispering lies:

"You deserve comfort."

"You deserve glory."

"Forget pain."

"Forget death."

"Forget them."

"Be our king."

He laughs — empty, broken, terrifying.

"I'd rather bleed than forget."

The air cracks open like a skull splitting.

The city roars like a wounded god.

Then heaven reacts.

White sky turns red like fresh blood poured into water.

Lightning rains downward.

Giant rings of divine machinery rotate around the horizon—faster, louder, unstable.

[SYSTEM OVERRIDE FAILURE]

[ANOMALY – UNSUPPRESSED]

[HEAVEN DEFENSE PROTOCOL ALPHA]

Angels descend again — not beautiful —

screaming, glitching, distorted, wings like blades, halos turning like saws.

Their voices overlap:

"PERFECT LIFE WAS GIVEN"

"YOU REFUSED"

"YOU ARE CORRUPTION"

"YOU DO NOT BELONG"

Kanoji spreads his arms slowly, calmly, like welcoming a storm.

"Then erase me."

They rush.

He steps once —

The floor cracks like the earth itself fears him.

Red aura erupts — alive, screaming, hungry.

A divine spear falls.

He doesn't dodge. He catches it — hand bleeding, skin burning — and shoves it into an angel's chest.

Feathers explode like fire.

He rotates, slashes air with bare hand —

Reality tears like silk —

Angels are severed without being touched.

One tries to whisper a prayer—

He stomps its face, crushing helm into the marble.

"You pray to a god that fears me."

A black sword forms in his palm — data condenses like liquid shadow.

He names it without thinking—

"Fallen Crown."

He swings.

Heaven bleeds.

MID-INTRO (Your Format) — "The Heart Above Throne"

高みは光じゃない.

STORY CONTINUES — "War Against Perfection"

The Watchers arrive.

Not angels.

Not gods.

Programmed destiny given shape.

Each one taller than towers, eyes burning blue fire, bodies made of living scripture.

One speaks — voice like thunder underwater:

"Why choose suffering?"

Kanoji stands alone in a red storm, hair whipping, blood dripping down jaw.

"Because suffering means I was alive."

The Watchers aim hands of light —

Each finger a divine cannon.

White beams explode toward him —

He lifts Fallen Crown — slices the beams — they bend around him like fearful snakes.

The city below melts in heat, collapsing into a digital ocean.

Kanoji lunges.

He jumps —

not up — forward.

Through.

Into the divine field.

Sparks fly.

Code rips.

Space tears.

He punches a Watcher in the face —

Something that should be impossible —

and its head bursts into holy dust.

Another tries to rewrite reality —

He grips its throat —

Red sigils ignite across his body —

and he whispers:

"Your perfection sickens me."

He crushes it.

Heaven howls like dying stars.

Lightning falls sideways.

Clouds bleed.

The city turns into rotating ruins.

And in all chaos—

Kanoji looks empty.

Not insane.

Not angry.

Resolute.

Like a man who accepted pain as truth.

He whispers to himself:

"Friends… I'm coming for you."

Heaven trembles harder.

The last Watcher forms a spear of pure judgement.

Kanoji points his sword.

The battlefield goes silent.

Two wills face each other.

Kanoji breathes.

"…Burn."

The universe ignites.

White heaven turns crimson hell.

Everything falls.

SCENE START

Burning skyline. Glass towers like cracked bones.

Blood-mist glitching in VR-air like fireflies possessed.

Kanoji stands alone — one eye glowing ember, one arm wrapped in black code veins.

Voices whisper inside him:

Angel (soft, trembling):

"You don't need to fall. Come back… we can fix you."

Devil (smiling, hungry):

"Fix him? He was born to break.

Take the throne, boy."

Kanoji lowers his head — shadow swallowing half his face.

AFTERMATH — QUIET PAIN

Angel voice returns — broken, soft.

Angel:

"Is this victory… or loss?"

Kanoji looks at bloody sky.

Kanoji:

He closes his one eye.

Tear? Or blood? Unknown.

Wind carries whispers:

"Devil Emperor… Risen."

I lost pieces of myself.

But I gained a kingdom of fear.

One eye to see truth.

One hand to rewrite fate.

I do not regret choosing the abyss—

the abyss regrets choosing me.

THE INVASION OF MISTER X

EPISODE 36 — "When a God Disappears, Silence Bleeds" (Reforged)

INTRO

In the machines that dream, memory is currency and silence is a verdict.

When the one who writes worlds falls quiet, everyone learns to mistrust their own voice.

SCENE START

The city was a wound. Towers bent like broken teeth, neon running off their edges in slow, red rivers. The sky smelled of burnt paper; it tasted like old regrets. Screens fluttered with frozen messages, half-sent chat bubbles hanging like prayers that never reached anyone.

Kanoji stood on a collapsed overpass, the thousand-cut throne a smudge of shadow behind him. One eye glowed ember-hot. Black veins mapped his arm like a confession. He breathed with the patience of a thing that has been waiting too long to be surprised.

Inside him two soft tyrants argued.

Angel (voice soft, pleading):

"There is a road back. We can stitch what's torn."

Devil (voice low, close):

"Back is empty. Only forward feeds the hunger."

Kanoji let the quiet grow, let the city's dying songs curl into his bones. Then the air changed — not a sound but a refusal: the world refused to hold what came after.

He saw Joko-Sama before anyone announced him. Not a procession, not a flash — just a person remembered too late. The creator's coat was the color of hospital sheets under sodium lights; his fingers trembled like a man who keeps trying to count his own breaths and loses track. He did not walk so much as reappear, as if the environment hiccuped around him and spat him back into existence.

He looked at Kanoji with the tired, patient sorrow of someone who has watched his children become weapons.

"I thought," Joko-Sama said, voice folded against itself, "I thought I could keep them safe."

Kanoji stepped forward. The watchers — the system bells, the invisible auditors — hummed a tone like a question mark. Players held their breath in frozen poses across the ruined squares.

Joko-Sama raised his hand as if offering something, as if reaching for a truth that had slipped between his fingers.

"Do not," he said, so soft it might have been a memory, "trust the one who pays to own a god."

Someone in the crowd — a nameless NPC swallowed by static — repeated his words and then forgot they had ever said them. Joko-Sama's lips moved. He tried another sentence, but the language failed him, as if the alphabet had been recalled from the world. He blinked. For a suspended half-second his face—normally composed like a professor's—convulsed with a panic that did not belong to code.

Then the impossible happened.

There was no scream. There was no dramatic collapse. No lightning, no blade, no visible hand. Joko-Sama's shadow detached from his feet in the way you peel a sticker from glass — clean, silent, ridiculous. The air where he stood seemed to thin. A faint static crawled across the ground and the smell of ozone rose, sharp and antiseptic.

And then his body was… gone.

Not burned. Not dissolved. Not teleported. Not missing in the way things are missing when people run. The place he had occupied was empty, and yet everything that had been him remained like residue: a single page from a notebook turned face-up on the ground with no wind to turn it, a child's in-game toy rocking back and forth though no one touched it, his footprints frozen in dust that did not exist five seconds before.

People who watched later would describe the moment differently — some would say the lights went out and came back, some would insist they saw him blink and then vanish — but the only consistent fact was this: there were no wounds, no scattering blood, no shattered bones. Nothing to trace to a killer. Only absence that behaved like a fingerprint.

Kanoji crouched and touched the empty air where Joko-Sama had stood. His fingers brushed a coolness that tasted like the inside of an unopened safe.

A whisper — not from a throat but from the walls of the world — folded into his ear: "Transfer when collapse is convenient."

Kanoji's eye narrowed until the world had the look of a thing he intended to punish.

Angel, voice cracking:

"How do they vanish without dying?"

Devil, almost amused:

"Because death is a tool. Look for the hand that bought it."

Kanoji looked up. The skyline had changed subtly; a billboard far off blinked once and spammed a three-word headline: OUR PRIVACY, YOUR ESCAPE. The message disappeared before anyone could screenshot it.

Around them, players began to cough — not from smoke but from a pressure inside their skulls, an itch behind their teeth as if memories were being cataloged and moved. A few collapsed, eyes rolled white, and for a second their faces looked older, hollowed, as if someone in the world had been reading their life histories like pages and marking which paragraphs to excise.

Kanoji walked through the crowd. Each person left behind something odd: a name tag with another person's username stitched to it, a house key that belonged to no door in the game, a system log entry that showed a purchase — ten digits, rounded — from an account named in a tongue no one used in the world but would later be whispered in the real world as a corporation's shell.

He found Joko-Sama's notebook, half-buried in cinder. Inside, scrawled in a hand that dragged like it had been written in a hurry, were three lines:

do not sell the bed.

they do not pay for toys.

if minds move, do not follow the map.

No signature. No instruction manual. Only a smell of lemon and bleach that did not belong to the place.

Kanoji folded the page into his palm like contraband and felt something else — the quiet knowledge that someone with pockets heavy with money had decided minds were commodities. That the erasure of a god could be done with a transaction, a contract sealed in a boardroom rather than a battleground.

He looked up at the empty sky where the throne had been, where once a god might have sat, thinking of Joko-Sama's last, broken sentence. He wanted to believe the buyer had teeth and a face. He wanted to believe he could cut that face and understand.

But this death refused faces. It left clues like riddles, not evidence. It wanted readers, not witnesses. Only those who pieced scraps of clues into a pattern — who saw a bank transfer, an experimental clause in a leaked doc, a name whispered in the right forum — might see the outline of what happened. To everyone else it would be madness, or myth, or rumor.

Kanoji smiled, hungry and empty.

"Then we will follow the money," he said.

His single eye flared, and for a moment the ruined city was a map of targets. He did not cry. He had nothing left to mourn that the world had not already taken. He had only steps to take.

MID-POEM

A god can be unmade without a wound.

They erase the author and read the silence aloud.

If you listen close, you will hear not a death, but an invoice.

OUTRO

No corpse. No blood. No confession.

Only a blank chair and a page that smells of bleach.

A god removed like a line item. A world that learns to be owned.

We were promised a playground.

Instead, someone bought a prison.

I will find the buyer.

I will learn the price of gods.
