Chapter 27: The Harsh Reality of the Ninja World
Tsunade smiled pleasantly.
After all, she understood that when she herself struck, she sometimes didn't know how to hold back — and it could easily get out of hand.
If she could learn that man's way of hitting people so confidently… she wouldn't have to restrain herself anymore!
Aoyama Ryuun grinned.
"Relax, it's easy. You'll probably master it in just a few days."
"That's great!" Tsunade replied happily.
With those two together, there was truly no one in Konoha who dared to provoke them.
Most importantly, both Aoyama Ryuun and Senju Tsunade were immensely powerful — so much so that even the Third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen, sometimes couldn't control them.
"Ahem!"
"Let's not talk about beating people anymore. First, get Elder Koharu to the hospital," Hiruzen coughed awkwardly.
He trusted Tsunade's medical skills… but looking at Koharu's weak breathing, he was genuinely worried that if he blinked, she might just stop breathing altogether.
From what he'd heard from the Anbu, he could only sigh helplessly at Aoyama Ryuun.
How could he even discipline a man like that?
Discipline him? Don't make him laugh. If Aoyama Ryuun could be controlled, he wouldn't be Aoyama Ryuun.
Punish him?
With that kind of strength, the entire village could only tolerate him.
Of course, it also helped that Ryuun had never caused a real disaster.
As long as no one died, even if he scolded the elders to their faces, no one would truly dare to stop him.
That was the truth of the ninja world — strength was everything.
"The old man shouldn't get angry," Ryuun said, scratching his head casually. "I think Elder Koharu just needed a bit of rest. Sending her to the hospital will do her good!"
"…"
After finishing the post-war discussions, everyone gradually dispersed.
Originally, Ryuun had only wanted to rough Koharu up a bit, but somehow things had gone much further…
Later that evening, when Ryuun and Tsunade returned home, Senju Nawaki was already waiting for them.
Seeing both of them unharmed, he let out a breath of relief.
Tsunade rolled her eyes. "Don't look so nervous. I've been on enough battlefields — I know how to handle myself."
"Hehe, I was just worried, that's all," Nawaki laughed sheepishly.
He knew full well how strong his sister was, but he couldn't help but worry anyway.
"You really need to grow some courage," Tsunade snorted. "Sometimes I wonder if you're even a member of the Senju Clan. Since when did we become so timid?"
Nawaki had heard that line so many times before that he was used to it.
"I still think being a teacher is pretty good," he said quietly.
Tsunade froze for a second.
She had always hoped to train Nawaki into the next pillar of the Senju clan — but now he wanted to stay in the ninja academy as a teacher?
What kind of future was that supposed to be?
"I think it's great!" Ryuun interrupted, patting Nawaki's shoulder approvingly. "Teaching and guiding the next generation — that's meaningful work!"
"But…" Tsunade frowned.
"What, would you rather see him die on some battlefield one day?" Ryuun asked, his tone calm but sharp.
"…"
"…Fine. I won't say anything."
"Hahaha!" Ryuun laughed heartily, raising a fist toward Nawaki.
Nawaki grinned and bumped his own fist against Ryuun's.
"Victory!"
Watching their childish gesture, Tsunade crossed her arms and smirked coldly.
"Tonight, your bed is the sofa," she said to Ryuun. "Figure out why yourself."
If she didn't keep him in check, Nawaki would turn out just like him — reckless and smug.
Ryuun just chuckled. "Alright, alright."
"It's getting late anyway," he said with a mysterious smile, glancing at Nawaki. "What matters isn't what you drink tonight… but who you drink with."
"Huh?" Nawaki blinked in confusion — then slowly realized what he meant.
Some things, you didn't understand until you lived them.
