Chapter 7 - The Cursed King’s Mate

But no one moved, not even her father who called himself a king while one of his subjects laid down in his own blood.

Elora felt her rage increase. If she could deal with anyone here, she'd start with her useless father

Azazeal walked down the steps of the throne, each footsteps echoing with menace.

He stopped right in front of her, crouching down to her level, his eyes locked on her tear stained cheeks. Even with this position, he still towered above her, his presence overbearing.

Elora stared up at the person in front of her, he emanated coldness. A sort of coldness that was chilling.

Half of his face was covered with a mask, but but red eyes burned her with intensity. He was the devil himself!

"My wolf," he began, his voice raspy and chilling beneath the mask, "does not appreciate seeing our mate cry over another man."

Her eyes revealed her disbelief, lips parted in shock.

What the hell did he just say? . Mate?

She didn't dare breath. Her body stiffened in silent dread.

He leaned in closer, his crimson irises now glowing inhumanely. "And I" he continued his voice edging towards a growl," i'm barely holding myself back from causing a bloody massacre."

His words didn't come out like mere threats.

They sounded cold and dangerously real.

The whole room went terrifyingly still. And Elora could hear someone inhale sharply.

But Elora's anger only intensified.

As much as she wanted to put this monster in his place, it wouldn't do her or Kenan any good.

Taking in a deep breath, she spoke up, her voice trembling but determined.

"He only hesitated for my sake… He didn't mean any harm. He shouldn't have to die, is this how you people treat others and you call this a fair ruling?."

The subtle snarkiness in her tone didn't go unnoticed by everyone in the room, from the corner of her eyes, she could see her father's eyes widen with fear.

Good. If I'm going down, I'm taking him along. The wolf king should at least lock him up somewhere. Half of my soul will be appeased that way.

There was pin drop silence, the entire crowd in the room held their breath and for a moment, Elora's tongue could smell her death for the second time, but when she looked up to see what the monster was doing, her lips parted in shock.

The wolf king only stared at her as if memorizing every detail of her face, as if he was transfixed and he heard nothing of what she had said.

Then, as if he was under a spell, he nodded his head in agreement.

"Bring the guard a healer," he ordered curtly.

This time, the people in the room couldn't hold in their gasps.

They couldn't contain their shock as the impossible unfolded right in front of them.

The infamous Demon king Azazeal, known for his fierce nature and cruel decrees, was bending to the wills of a mere human.

He didn't punish her for her insolence but rather…

 He was saving a life ! .

It was as though the world was about to end as every wolf in the room watched with baited breaths, not sure wether to believe their eyes or not.

Elora was the one who felt the most shock

He agreed? My head will remain intact on my head ?!.

Wait… something must be wrong somewhere."

Her thoughs were all over the place and stared at him in disbelief.

Well, there is a mask on his face, this probably isn't the wolf King, maybe it's just a person here in his behalf. Afterall, no one has ever fully seen the demon's face. They've only seen how brutal he is on the battlefield. And they feared him for his cruelity.

The person in front of her radiated a powerful aura, his skin was as pale as the undead, and his black robe was half -unbuttone, revealing a glimpse of his skin and a black tattoo was on his chest, the half-face of a wolf etched into his pale skin.

Elora's breath dipped as her gaze lingered on the tattoo, this was the infamous wolf drawing on the skin of the wolf king. No other wolf had the symbolic drawing on their chest. She couldn't help but wonder if the full image of the drawing would be as stunning as the half she is seeing.

Her fingers clenched at her sides, her chest filled with unease as she but her lips to stop her from screaming in fright.

Even in her past life, she had never encountered anyone with such an overwhelming aura. It was as if he could ruin her entire life with a simple glance.

She fiddled with her fingers staring uneasily at the large person who hasn't said a word to her. She expected him to ignore her, or worse punish her for the words she'd spilled earlier.

Instead, Azazeal's gloved fingers reached out slowly, gently brushing her cheek.

Unfamiliar sparks raked through her body, the overwhelming urge to press herself in his arms and never let go hit her strongly.

She had heard when he mentioned being his mate earlier, but she had hoped she was mistaken and had heard something else.

Her lips parted and a gasp escaped her lips at how his touch calmed her instead offiimg the opposite, a sudden glint appeared in his eye at her response to his touch.

Then, without a word or explanation, he reached out and pulled her to his side.

He claimed her.

Everyone present in the hall saw it. Everyone felt the shift.

The Crimson Sky pack council erupted in stunned whispers. And prince Regan who stood at the sides looked like he had swallowed glass.

Elora's father, King Haze had an icy calculating look in his eyes. While the ministers and high ranking officials stood frozen, eyes wide with disbelief.

And before he could be stopped by anyone, before they could comprehend the whole event.

Azazeal turned with her and walked away.

No words. No explanation. No Apology.

She was his.

And as they passed the stunned crowd, his large hands holding hers gently, Enid could barely hear anything over the thudding of her heart, she could feel her head throb with each step she took.

She felt the man next to her stop for a moment to check on her, his brows were furrowed in concentration as he watched her sway slightly.

Elora was sure that if that mask wasn't on his face, she would see the concern on his face clearly

Her vision darkened, but she barely heard one whisper before her vision went black

"The cursed king has found his mate."
