Darkness.
Silent. Endless. Cold.
Lucas could not feel his body, only the echo of his own heartbeat. The last image burned into his mind was that monstrous figure from the event — a black silhouette shaped like a man, yet wrong in every possible way. Level 9999. Glitching. Smiling.
And then its voice.
Gotcha.
Those words kept echoing. As if the voice wasn't from the game... but from the other side of reality.
Suddenly—
A sound.
Ding.
A thin line of light cut through the darkness and expanded until a glowing text floated in front of him like a hologram.
Loading...
Lucas blinked.
His heart raced.
Wait... what? Loading?
This looks exactly like the game UI...
Before he could think more, another text appeared.
Welcome to the Game, Lord.
Touch anywhere on the screen to continue.
Lucas stared.
Touch the screen?
He hesitated... then raised his hand.
His fingers brushed against empty air, but the world reacted as if he tapped a screen.
The darkness shattered.
A bright flash swallowed everything.
Lucas stood in an enormous hall — a white cathedral-like space floating in an endless sky. Marble floors reflected the light of floating mana orbs. Giant circular doors surrounded the chamber, each one inscribed with a number.
Floor 01. Floor 02. Floor 03.
Exactly like the Be a G.O.D.O.C lobby.
No... it was that lobby.
Lucas swallowed hard.
"This can't be real. I must be dreaming."
He touched the floor. Cold. Solid. Real.
Tutorial Activated
Once upon a time, the God of Destruction and the God of Creation fought.
That battle corrupted the world of Nordia.
In that chaos, a power was born.
The power to destroy all...
or create all.
Lucas froze.
I know this text. I have seen this tutorial screen a hundred times.
But this time... he wasn't watching a screen.
He was inside it.
You must claim that power.
You will either destroy Nordia... or create it anew.
The future is in your hands, Lord.
Lucas shook his head.
"No. No no no. I am not the Lord. I am the player. Lucas. IGN: Odin."
A new window appeared.
Name: Levi
Rank: 1 Star Hero (Common)
Role: Swordsman (Basic)
Lucas stared at it.
"...that's not me."
He was supposed to be the Lord — the one who summoned heroes, strategized, commanded.
Instead...
He was the summon.
A low tier.
A disposable pawn.
Footsteps echoed.
Lucas turned. A ghostly figure stood behind him — faceless, glowing with a mist-like aura. A presence without voice, without emotion, without identity.
The Lord.
Lucas tried to speak.
"Um... who are you?"
No answer.
Only a message window appeared in front of the Lord.
Click to begin tutorial battle.
Lucas felt the floor beneath him shift.
A blinding flash swallowed his vision.
Tutorial Zone — Goblin Nest
The world snapped into existence.
A forest.
Rotten trees.
The smell of mud and blood.
A goblin screeched, holding a rusty dagger, saliva dripping from its mouth.
Lucas froze.
"This is not a cutscene... this is real."
The goblin lunged. Lucas panicked.
"I dont know how to swing a sword. I am going to die. I am actually going to die."
His body suddenly moved on its own, like strings were attached to him. His sword slashed forward, cutting through the goblin's throat in one clean motion.
The goblin collapsed.
Lucas stared at his own hands, shaking.
I did not do that.
My body moved like I was... programmed.
Tutorial Complete.
Another window appeared for the Lord.
Hero Summon Available.
Perform Heroic Summoning?
Lucas looked up at the faceless Lord.
"Hey... maybe don't do random stuff without telling me?"
No answer.
The Lord pressed yes.
Magic circles burst open above the ground. Wind roared. Light gathered into a pillar.
A swordsman stepped out.
Tall. Beautiful silver hair.
Sharp blue eyes.
Armor shining like polished glass.
New Hero: Simon (4 Star — Swordsman)
Lucas's jaw dropped.
"A four star? In Heroic Summon? That's only a three percent chance."
Simon kneeled respectfully toward the Lord.
"I am called Simon. My sword belongs to you."
Lucas finally felt relief. Someone who was not a faceless god or a monster.
Simon glanced at Lucas.
"So... you are a hero too? Let us survive together."
For the first time since waking here, someone acknowledged him.
Lucas nodded.
"Yeah. Together."
They cut through goblins effortlessly. Simon's swordplay was graceful. Lucas followed, learning to move on instinct. For a moment... Lucas felt safe.
He was not alone.
After clearing the nest, a new message appeared.
Tutorial Phase: Synthesis
Sacrifice one hero to power up another.
Lucas felt his blood turn cold.
Sacrifice.
He slowly turned to Simon — a 4 star — and then to himself — a 1 star nobody.
"There's no way... he will choose me."
He waited for the Lord to pick the trash hero.
Him.
Silence.
A cursor appeared in the air.
Moving.
Selecting.
Lucas exhaled.
"Yeah... I figured."
But—
The cursor stopped.
On Simon.
Lucas froze.
"No... that must be a mistake. He wouldn't..."
The Lord dragged Simon's portrait into the Sacrifice Slot.
Simon looked confused for half a second.
"Huh?"
Light exploded from beneath him. He began dissolving into particles of glowing dust.
"W... wait... what are you doing? I just arrived."
Lucas ran toward him.
"Stop! Stop the synthesis. He selected the wrong one. It should be me."
Simon reached out, voice trembling.
"I do not want to disappear. I... I have not even—"
The light consumed his legs, rising.
Lucas grabbed his hand.
"I am sorry. This is my fault. I should be the one sacrificed."
Simon shook his head slowly.
"Live... whoever you are. Please... just live."
The last of his body faded into pure light.
And then he was gone.
Synthesis Complete
Hero Levi has absorbed power.
Lucas collapsed to his knees, trembling.
"He... he killed him. The Lord killed him. By mistake. Just like deleting a file."
No emotion.
No hesitation.
No apology.
Just silence.
Lucas felt a shiver crawl up his spine.
He was nothing here.
Just a pawn.
Worse—
A replaceable pawn.
He clenched his fists.
"I will escape this world. I will find out why that monster dragged me here. And I will destroy anyone who treats me like trash."
The air trembled.
A final message appeared.
Beginning main game.
Climb the Tower.
Become the God of Destruction... or the God of Creation.
The massive doors of Floor 01 opened slowly.
Lucas stood up, eyes burning with a newfound fire.
"Fine."
"If this world wants a God..."
"Then I will become one."
