Chapter 18
Under the silver moonlight, Yuzurei sat alone in the garden, his expression blank but his eyes sharp. The night was quiet, filled only with the soft whisper of wind brushing through the leaves.
Musukoni walked in quietly.
Musukoni: "Yuzurei, why are you here?"
Yuzurei: "Huh? We've got a mission today. I'm just waiting for the others."
His tone was calm, but the irritation in his voice was clear.
Meanwhile, inside the wooden house, Yusikuna was preparing for his first solo mission. He adjusted his gloves and smirked confidently.
Yusikuna: "Sensei! I'm excited! My first solo mission!"
Shioinkin: "Don't get too excited, boy. Be careful out there."
Yusikuna left the house, walking down the moonlit path until he reached the mission spot.
The air was still. No movement. No sound.
He scanned the area carefully but saw nothing suspicious.
Hours passed before he returned, his expression puzzled.
Yusikuna: "Sensei!!!"
Shioinkin: "What?! Why are you shouting?"
Yuzurei: "What a mess…"
Musukoni: "Seems like something happened."
Jin Yuan: "Huh…"
Yusikuna: "Sensei, there was nothing there! The whole place was completely quiet!"
Shioinkin rubbed his beard, thinking for a moment.
Shioinkin: "Maybe we got a false report."
Yuzurei burst out laughing, clutching his stomach.
Yuzurei: "Ha! All that talk, and it was nothing!"
Musukoni couldn't help but chuckle, while Jin Yuan remained silent, watching them like a shadow—unmoved, unreadable.
Later that night, Jin Yuan returned to his room. The house was peaceful again, but something about the silence felt... too heavy.
