Chapter 8 - "The Upper-Class Escape Plan"

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________

"Then I'll head back now, Uncle Bardock."

After a long talk with Bardock—long enough to get every piece of information he'd been after—Harry finally said his goodbyes.

"Yeah. Don't forget to come by for dinner tonight."

Bardock watched him leave without another word. When the boy's figure disappeared down the street, his eyes unconsciously drifted toward the room where Kakarot's incubation pod rested. His expression darkened.

He'd deliberately avoided certain topics during their talk, feeding Harry only harmless details about missions and logistics.Because Bardock knew something Harry didn't.

A storm was coming—one that could wipe Planet Vegeta and the Saiyan race from existence if they took even a single wrong step.

"Could it really just be a coincidence? …Let's hope I'm overthinking it," Bardock muttered under his breath.

That Elec guy might not have been the most trustworthy source, but his intel, combined with the sudden attack on the royal palace last night, had Bardock connecting the dots. The pattern pointed to only one suspect—Frieza.

After turning it over in his mind for what felt like forever, Bardock made up his mind.Whether the Heeta Organization's warning was real or not, he had to be ready for the worst.

If it was true, he needed to act before it was too late—at least to get Kakarot and Harry safely off-world.If it wasn't, he could always bring them back later. The only thing lost would be a bit of time.

Raditz, on the other hand, was with Prince Vegeta's squad and scheduled to leave soon anyway. Bardock didn't need to worry about him.

"Unless… King Vegeta already got wind of something himself," Bardock thought suddenly. "Could that be why he's sending the prince and his team out to conquer another planet right now?"

The more he considered it, the more it felt like a calculated move—to get the prince away from whatever was about to happen.

——

Leaving Bardock's home, Harry's uncertainty faded. His mind was sharper now, his thoughts organized.

Back at his place, he started carefully planning everything he'd need to escape Planet Vegeta.

At this point, there was no going with the flow—he had to make a plan.In this universe, only strength allowed you to do what you wanted. Without it, you were just another pawn.

"A large-class ship's off-limits for someone at my rank… but as an upper-class warrior, I might be able to get a mid-size one through Bardock's connections. That should be enough."

He spoke to himself while jotting down mental notes.

"With that, I can carry a decent amount of supplies. The priority's definitely medical-grade healing potions and restorative fluid. Best case, I can also grab some raw materials—enough to research and replicate them later."

As he muttered, his thoughts aligned, turning into a neat, step-by-step plan.

"Wait… I could try to get some Saibaman seeds too," he added, eyes lighting up. "Those little guys have a power level of twelve hundred, totally loyal to whoever plants them. Perfect for protection."

The only problem was that Saibamen were restricted tech—reserved for elite warriors, even among the upper class.

Still, just because he couldn't get them didn't mean others couldn't.Bardock might have a way. Maybe even Raditz could pull some strings with his current status.

Harry smirked. "To be fair, Raditz isn't doing too bad right now. Having a father with a power level over ten thousand makes it hard not to stand out."

He'd even overheard other Saiyans flattering him:"If Bardock's just a low-class warrior and he's that strong, Raditz'll definitely surpass him someday."

"Surpass Bardock, huh…" Harry chuckled softly.Maybe that dream wasn't impossible—if the Saiyans weren't doomed to annihilation.

But after Planet Vegeta's destruction, the Raditz in the original story had no one left to guide him. He became weak—pathetic, even. Two decades later, his power level barely reached fifteen hundred, not even a tenth of Bardock's peak.

——

More than an hour passed as Harry refined his plan, cutting unnecessary items and tightening logistics.

Then his thoughts turned to the hardest part—how to take Aunt Gine with him.

Technically, as an upper-class warrior, he could requisition a few lower-class soldiers for assistance on missions. But there was one major issue—he was still just a kid.

And this mission would be a solo planetary conquest, a mid-level target at that. Not exactly something a "child" should be requesting backup for.

"If it comes to that, I'll have to ask Bardock to put in a word. If Aunt Gine knows I want her along to look after me, she won't refuse."

Right now, Gine's only real attachment was Kakarot. Once the baby was sent away, she'd have no reason to stay behind.

"If I tell her we'll head to Earth afterward, she might even be thrilled," he murmured.

Bardock, though… there was no saving him. Not realistically.Once he realized what was coming, he'd definitely stay to face it. That was who he was.

Even if Harry revealed he was a time traveler, showed him everything that was about to happen—it'd only backfire.Bardock would probably think he'd gone insane, or worse, attack him for "possessing" his nephew's body.

After all, if Harry hadn't reincarnated here, this body would've belonged to Bardock's real nephew. To Bardock, that'd make him an invader.

"Forget it," Harry sighed. "Once I reach Earth—or maybe Namek—I can just use the Dragon Balls to wish Bardock back to life."

That was the only realistic path. There was no taking Bardock with him. No matter how he twisted it, the man wouldn't leave.

If only he were stronger—strong enough to surpass Bardock. Then he could just knock him out and drag him along by force.

But right now, that was just a fantasy. If he wanted freedom, he had to get stronger—so strong that no one on Planet Vegeta could stop him.

"Reality's cruel," he whispered. "Frieza's power level is over five hundred thousand. He doesn't even need to transform—a single energy blast could wipe out the entire planet."

"If the Saiyans knew that number, they wouldn't even think about rebelling."

Harry took a deep breath, clearing his head. He sat cross-legged on his bed, eyes closed, and began to focus inward.

After his breakthrough in training yesterday—and the talk with Bardock today—his understanding of ki had deepened.

Without realizing it, the afternoon slipped away as he meditated, refining his energy control.

By the time night fell, Harry finally opened his eyes, his aura calm and steady. His strength had grown again—especially his command over ki.

"..."
