As I walk into the large hallway, I can see many drones doing some kind of repair here and there, with others carrying parts used for the autonomous maintenance system. Each step I take brings me closer to the Storage Bay. As I walk, [ Silver, I have uploaded the full mapping of the Ark Noir into your Ring. You may see it after you are done creating your suit. Well then, farewell Mr.Fool. ] said EVE before walking forward and disappearing as she passes through the hall.
I look at the path where she walked and shake my head as I continue forward. I do not see EVE in any way, or maybe my brain hasn't developed enough to think of her that way, 'but God, please no.'
I look down at my Ring and see the holographic menu. I notice a new folder has been uploaded, well, it's my first folder, so I open it up. Inside is a list of the decks the Ark Noir has and each chamber within it, each with a detailed description of its function. I also know it's the compressed version, as EVE would understand that a kid of thirteen wouldn't grasp all of this. Still, I decide to look over it for a moment before closing the document.

Located near the ship's mid-lower spine, the Reactor Bay houses the NSD (Nexa Singularity Drive) a one-of-a-kind energy reactor combining Maternum and a rare neutron-star residue element.
Reactor Bay Structure:
Central Chamber: 600m tall cylindrical structure housing the NSD core.
Containment Arms: 24 massive stabilizers that maintain reactor alignment.

As I walked past the door connected to the fourth deck, I saw the gate toward the storage bay. I was about to ask EVE how to open the door, as I did not see any button or handle on it, but before I had the time to open my mouth, some kind of scan passed through me. Then, a mechanical sound could be heard from the speaker [ Identity confirmed / Welcome Mr.Fool ], and the door opened. What I saw there was majestic, a space so large I could never even imagine.
From a glance, I could see drones and bots arranging some kind of part and raw material in a coordinated way. I assumed it had just started now as EVE had only recently activated the maintenance protocol. While I was looking around, I saw one robot approach me. It was a humanoid robot giving a polite bow when it looked at my shorter frame before speaking [ Welcome Mr.Fool, I am Stone, the A.I. who just got activated and am given the task to handle the storage bay. May I know what you are looking for? ] asked the robot named Stone.
'I thought A.I. this smart is supposed to be rare? Why do they appear everywhere?' was my thought, and then I remembered this kind of A.I. only handled a certain task and did not need any more brain capacity to perform others. Like EVE, for example, she was one complex A.I. with at least more than 24 terabytes of raw processing systems that helped her, but an A.I. like Stone would need less than 1% of EVE's computing system to handle a task like the storage manager, which Stone handled.
"I need to find some element or material to make my suit." Silver said. He then checked himself as he felt that his injured hand was already healed. 'Hmm, the regeneration features really are quite groundbreaking.' I thought briefly as Stone finished calculating the best material I needed to create my suit.
[ Calculations complete / As of now, the best materials that are present and can be used for your suit are as follows, Mr.Fool / 5 kg Military Grade Mercurian Alloy, 14 kg Medium Grade Martian Steel, 12 kg of Compressed Chrobites, 20 g of Nexa Residue Lattice Dust, 80 kg Pure Tungsten Steel, 2 kg of Maternum Dust, 5 kg of Pure Gold Ingots, 7 kg of Nanite Karbite / And for the element that you can get to power it, we only have 1 miniature fused Maternum core, but it is deactivated / So what would you get, Mr.Fool? ] asked Stone after he told me everything that was available. I knew some of those materials, but many I had just heard for the first time, which made me feel dizzy.
I then remembered something, those pictures of men wearing suits of some kind of clothing back on Earth. "EVE, can you read what I am thinking?" I asked into the air, and in less than a second, EVE's holographic body appeared near me, walking toward me.
[ Yes, I can do so, if you allow me to see what you are imagining via the Neural Link. ] answered EVE after some thought processing.
"Cool. See into my mind, and create something like what I am thinking using every available material here. It does not need to be similar, just create it while making that as a base. The color? Well, make it the same as The Fool. Can you do that?" I asked after focusing on the picture that I saw in some news and fantasy novel I had read back when I was just a 7-year-old kid.
[ I will do my best. ] EVE nodded as she closed her eyes, thinking of creating a design for my suit using my imagination. 'Having an A.I. this powerful feels really nice, I feel like I can just lay around and be a lazy pig.' I thought as five minutes passed. EVE, who was in a deep processing state, finally opened her eyes slowly, and gracefully sent the data she had been creating into my ring.
After I looked through it, I saw that the material needed was far more costly than I would have thought, and it seemed my command was not precise enough, as the material EVE had listed for me to create my suit was far above what was currently available in the storage room. "Well, just create something using what is available, EVE. I think with the amount of material you're asking for, it could at least create half an Angel Frame, so just be real and use the material that's in the storage bay." I explained to her, not wanting to offend her effort, even though I knew she did not have feelings, but I thought it was the best way to do it for her, as she had already helped me a lot.
[ I can do so, but Mr.Fool, the material that is required is available in this ship, and as you ordered previously, I used the best material that can be found here. ] EVE then explained herself as to why she included this material.
"Huh? What do you mean?" I said, confused and surprised, thinking EVE was planning to dismantle The Fool Angel Frame in half. "No, don't use The Fool just to create a suit!!" I said, shock in my voice as I imagined The Fool being dismantled because I wanted to be cooler.
[ Affirmative, Mr.Fool, but the material I mentioned is not from dismantling or taking any part of Angel Frame The Fool. There is another Angel Frame left here in the Ark. I must say, half of an Angel Frame, Mr.Fool, and after I tried to identify the Angel Frame, I found something interesting. The lower body that I found is the lower body parts of Arcana Type Angel Frame Codename: The Judgement. As the frame is broken beyond repair with its engine core gone, you can use the material to create your suit, but I think your ring would not have enough energy to do that. ] EVE explained, and after I heard it, it blew my mind, another Arcana Type engine.
I was afraid that my luck for the next 20 years was being used up for this very day, resulting in me not having any luck in the future. "Hmm, that would be best, but how do I counter the energy consumption? Can you find me some solution?" I asked EVE another question, asking her to create some solution.
[ Affirmative. ] EVE answered slowly, then began to close her eyes again, but now it only lasted for ten seconds. [ I found some solution. We can use the Nexa Residue Lattice Dust combined with Nanite Karbite, creating ten additional rings. As you already have one, we can change one ring to become an earring or any other form of accessory. We can do that or... I think that would be the best solution. It can generate enough energy to power your combat space suit for seven hours. ] EVE was about to say something but stopped. I knew there was another solution she found, and she should have no reason to hide it from me. So why was she hiding it?
"You said some solution, meaning there is more than one, and you were about to say something. So say it, EVE." I said, not wanting anything hidden from me.
[ ... ] She was quiet for some time. After five whole seconds, and just as I was about to snap, she decided to open her mouth. [ Changing your heart, that would be the best, and in my calculation, would be the optimal solution, as it would generate energy like how your heart generates blood for organic beings. It would also give you a boost in every aspect of combat, like reflex, balance, strength, focus, and many others that would only be possible if you changed your heart into something else. ] EVE explained the reason she hesitated.
'Changing my heart into something which is not flesh? My heart? Would that make me into something that is non-human?' I was fighting with my thoughts. I had lost everything, my father, who was blown up by a stray Angel fire, my mother, who died after giving birth to me, and many of my friends who were kidnapped and killed on the battlefield after being forced to fight. So I was thinking, 'Would I exchange my own humanity to earn power? Should I forsake my heart just to obtain power?' My brain felt like it was burning. Seconds felt like an eternity. My legs gave up on me, and I slumped down onto my butt as I felt like I lost all my energy. I did not pass out, I was still conscious, so I decided to rest my back against the nearest wall and calm myself down.
It seemed my energy had been used up after the nanobytes in my bloodstream used it to heal my injury, so I sat down to gather my strength and think. 'Would I do that? Would I give away my heart for power?' The question repeated over and over in my head as I decided to let my eyes close and fell into a deep sleep without even realizing it.
