Chapter 21 - Meeting Alexis

Aurora's POV

"Your sister?" I blurted out.

"Yes, same parents, same blood." He cleared me.

"How come she's..."

"I have no idea." He interrupted me. "Let's hope she wakes up, and then we'll both have an answer to our questions."

"What should we do to keep her alive? because she looks like someone who's hardly breathing," I said.

"Didn't you hear when I called her my sister? Same blood? She's a wolf and will make it alive; she just needs a little rest." He blurted out.

We didn't utter a word to each other, as all his focus was on his uncooperative sister. He made fire beside her, placed a worm cloth on her forehead, and used some traditional leaves on her.

"Now, you've got to share his attention and love." Camel giggled.

"Please shut up, camel; it isn't funny." I blasted her.

"He really loves his sister, or don't you think?" She asked.

I knew she was his sister, but I couldn't help but feel a little jealousy. My heart was burning in jealousy as I watched him take care of her.

"What if she doesn't like me? What if she has a friend for him?"

Different thoughts kept ringing in my head.

"Aren't you tired of standing? Come sit with me," he said, interrupting my thoughts.

"I'm fine." I forced out a smile, declining his offer while he scoffed.

"She doesn't bite," he said, reading my thoughts again. "But if you insist on standing, So be it," he continued watching her.

I frowned as my brows furrowed. Not replying to his late statement, I stormed out of the house.

"Was Camel right? Would he no longer have my time and return to being strict like the first time I met him?" I thought.

"Watch over her while I go search for food. You complained of being hungry." He spoke out from behind.

"What?" I exclaimed.

"You heard me; what over her?" He walked past me.

I sluggishly walked into the house as I walked towards where she lay and sat next to her, observing the resemblance.

She looked so pretty asleep, just like him; they had similar noses and lips, though hers was smaller.

My heartbeat increased when I observed her fingers moving. She let out a heavy sneeze as she slowly opened her eyes. She darted her eyes towards me as she tried to sit on her buttocks.

"Careful," I said, as I helped her up.

"Who are you?" She forced herself to say it as she blinked her eyes.

"My name is Aurora."

"And how on earth did I get here, and what's this place?" She asked as she scrolled her eyes around.

"Your brother brought you here; he'll be here shortly; he..."

"My brother?" She exclaimed in shock, cutting me off.

"Yes, your brother." I repeated.

She let out a resounding laughter as she left a stare on me. Before I knew what was happening, her hands were around my throat as I coughed and tried tapping her.

"Did they send you to me, huh? Speak up!" She yelled at me.

I wondered where she got such strength from, as I was already chocking and I felt life leave my body.

"Tell me who sent you, or I'll kill you just like they killed my brother!"

"Camel, camel." I called because I was already too weak to be in my human form, but the camel couldn't shift with her hands on my neck.

"Alexis!" Alzred called as her grip left my neck.

"Alzred!" She yelled and ran towards me, but he pushed her aside and ran to where I was, coughing.

"What got into you? You almost killed her!" He yelled at his sister.

"I didn't mean to. I thought she was one of the rogues sent by the par."

"Have you been under attack?" he asked, letting go of me.

"Yes, I have, and I barely survived the last one." Her face bore emotions.

"Hold on. What are you even doing outside the park?" He asked furiously.

At that moment, I felt what Camel said to be true, and I was definitely going to share his attention. He totally forgot I was in pain, and his attention was on his sister.

"I was given the option to live at the barn as an omega or leave the pack, banished."

"What?" He exclaimed, "Why? You had nothing to do with any of it."

"The elders said that I share the same blood with you, and for that reason, I'm nothing but bad luck."

"They have no right to do such to you!" He roared in anger.

"What is done has been done. I only survived by the grace of the moon goddess, or else I would have given up on my own life. All thanks to my wolf, who kept me going," she said as she stared at Alzred for a few seconds. "Why aren't you dead?"

I saw Alzred's eyes glitter as I felt that he gave her a sign to keep quiet as she darted her eyes towards me.

"Who is she?" She asked bluntly.

"My bad. I totally forgot to do a proper introduction. Alexis, meet Aurora, my girlfriend, and Aurora, meet my sister, Alexis."

"What? You're girlfriend? You got a girlfriend! that's impossible." She laughed heartily while I found myself burning in anger, wondering what was so funny.

"Alexis, behave yourself, and what's so funny?" Her brother frowned at her.

"What is so funny is having a girlfriend in the middle of nowhere. Come on, Alzred, you and I know that you're hardly into women. Now tell me who she is, your mistress. Because that's what you're good at."

My heart burned in pain upon hearing that.

"I don't think she likes you," the camel said, but I was too hurt to reply to her.

"Enough Alexis! I won't watch you talk about her in that manner." His voice echoed, leaving his sister in shock, which was written all over her face.
