Cherreads

Chapter 32 - ~27~

I don't remember how I ended up asleep on the bed, but by the time I woke up, a single crimson red rose and a note had greeted me. It was neat handwriting from my wife, which I grew to love.

Don't be mad when you wake up, and I wasn't by your side. There's a sudden emergency at the eastern border. I had to check it out, and maybe later, around lunch, I'll be at the academy. See you later at school.

Your wife, Mirxa

Subconsciously, my lips curved into a smile before I shook my head, smelled the flower before I put it in a small vase, and placed it on the bedside table. "Right, school. It's my first day today..." I recalled, and I did my usual morning routine before freshening up. By the time I was done, I opened the shared walk-in closet to check my clothes, which mostly Talia had bought for me. I sighed. "I'd better mix and match than stick to her taste."

Before Allison could knock on my door, I was already up and fully dressed according to my liking. I was in a navy blue trouser suit, a burgundy blouse, and heeled boots, which were completely different from my thick oversized sweater, loose pants, and thick eyeglasses. It was a different me. I even tied my hair up in a ponytail and wore my new eyeglasses, making me look like a smart boss rather than a college student.

"Wow, you look smarter than being just a geek." Allison praised me for how differently I looked.

"Thank you, Ali." I thanked her politely because these clothes weren't just something Talia bought for me. It was also a type of clothes that still speaks to me – a clever person.

"Pleasure, and after a quick discussion about what happened to you at the library, you're in the special class with us. There are no uniforms, only a color dress code to indicate who they are." She chuckled, briefing me a little about the school's dress codes for special students. I nodded, noticing I hadn't received any uniform before giving me a box, "And we shouldn't forget this."

"What's this?" I asked as I saw a necklace, a brooch, and a chain pin once I opened the box. The necklace was an infinity cross thorns with a rose at the center, while the brooch chain pin was a Knightrose symbol, a shield with a sword and a rose.

"This necklace has been worn by Knightrose's mates…" Allison answered as she helped me wear the necklace around my neck before putting the lapel at the upper left chest of my blouse, saying, "…and this pin to indicate you're a Knightrose now, which is prone to a little trouble."

"Well, I've been in worse," I said, shrugging my shoulders, since I've been bullied and it got bullied there, there was nothing new then.

"But don't fret; nobody will bully you if you don't let them." She told me before adding serious advice, "But if you decide to let them think you're still weak, be sure you know how to handle the worst people as possible and put them into their rightful places with words. Held yourself strong, the same way you talked back to the queen and managed to defeat three fighters." Then she patted my back, saying, "And besides, you're with us."

"What do you mean?" I wondered as we headed out of my room.

"Lady Almira is there too, and some Knightrose's servants and knights studied there, though they were in different departments, but we do have a few classes with them," Allison answered with a grin, and I sighed.

"Why did I feel that my arrival had been announced before I even appeared?" I mumbled, making her giggle.

"That's Lady Almira for you." She chuckled and headed to the car that was waiting for us. "Let's go, the car is waiting, and we can have breakfast at the school's cafeteria."

The Blood Knight Rose Academy was a castle like I was thrown back in Medieval time because knights were marching, securing the school's perimeter from inside and out. There were also training grounds where shouting and clashing swords echoed, but what caught my attention was the persevering nature around the school grounds. It made the strong walls a little softer with rose bushes, trees, and gardens where most of the students hang out or study during free time. But speaking of students, they were all looking at me like I was a plague. I shivered and walked closer with Allison.

"Don't be chicken or they might bite like what you'd been through, and you don't want that to happen again, am I right?" Allison whispered lowly, making me sigh because she was true. I came here to change and to leave the past behind me.

I nodded and composed myself before whispering back. "You're right. I have to own me."

"There you go." Allison chuckled, but quickly stiffened when I walked to my locker because jocks and jerks, potential bullies, blocked our way. "They're the varsities of this school."

I frowned as I noticed Allison cower a little. She didn't like it, but the superiority of blood between a noble and a servant made her bow. But her bow was polite, giving respect and not submission. But they were grinning, using their authority and power over her, and I don't like it. I hate it, but since I'm new here, I don't know the full story or the status of everyone here until one of them, the jock-jerks, teased her.

"Finally, our maid is here." An arrogant werewolf man greeted with his mischievous grin. Then he teased Allison, saying, "Allison, carry our bags to our class." He laughed with his friends, but Allison just bowed and ignored him as we headed to our lockers. But it didn't stop him and started blocking her way - our way, spatting, "Are you deaf? I'm commanding you to bring my bag to the class after all, we're classmates and…"

Honestly, I want things to be unfolded, but Allison is assigned to me as my servant, and I don't like anyone close to me being pushed around more than me. As the hidden flame kicked in, I interfered with a winter storm, which perhaps came from Mirxalyn's intimidating coldness.

I stepped in front of Allison without thinking of the consequences. I felt hot, furious. "And who are you to disturb and order my servant than I should?"

My voice came out much colder than a pile of snow with authority, catching everyone's attention in the locker area. All trembled. I didn't realize that my tone would be strong and modulated. I wanted to hide, but I didn't because of Allison. I'm protecting her, so I didn't back down.

They looked at me, narrowing their eyes until the man towering over Allison sniffed the air around me, and he began grinning. He knew who I am, and this is going to be a nuisance.

"Ohhoo, I didn't know Allison is serving a weak omega." With a vicious little sneer, he commented. Somehow, when he called me omega, I felt nothing aside from anger swirling around my chest, ready to burst until he mentioned who I was back in my pack. "Ah, I remember the rumors about the Moon's Gypsys pack, they had what they called Sigbin, the weakest of all omegas in history. I didn't realize it was real. I bet they had fun with you."

I should felt something when he mocked me, but I didn't. I felt nothing. His mockery felt empty, and I internally liked it. I felt light because it was a sign that I was healing in this kind of environment. Yes, there were times I felt threatened, shaking, but the desire to help and protect someone I care about, it'll be different. But, this man would be able to get away from saying ill about my family and the people who treated me well when I was still in the pack.

My blood burns under my skin, and instead of morphing, my mark showed up. I smell blood from it, but it was not dripping. Then the malicious and threatening rotten scent that I'd inherited from my Sigbin draped around them. They flinched, but in the blink of an eye, my hand was over the man's collar, slamming him with force to the floor. Due to the impact, the vibration cracked the ground, stunning the man beneath me.

"Don't play with the Sigbin, you had no idea at all." Menacing, I spat lowly, but it was clear enough for everyone in the hall to hear. "You'd better watch what you're saying. It could bite worse than you least expected." I warned, and it was my temper talking. It has been kicking inside around my unpredictable wife, and now, I have come to realize that it would come out not only with my wife but also to anyone I care for. Then, with a warning growl, I spat again, "You better stay away from me, Almira or Allison."

"WHY YOU!" He growled, trying to fight back when I released his collar, but I quickly dodged his attempt. And with defensive reflexes, with force around my palm, I pushed his chest, making him stumble on his feet before landing badly on the lockers, hardly. "I'LL GET BACK AT YOU, OMEGA!"

I looked at him with an enigmatic expression, making him step back a little. Then I said coldly, "Am I now?"

He growled and was about to attack me when a commanding voice echoed through the hall.

"THAT'S ENOUGH, SENTINEL."

Almira's commanding voice was superb, making everyone in the area respectfully give way and bow to her. She held authority as she walked gracefully, owning the hall as she approached our spot.

I was dumbfounded as I didn't realize Almira could also emit Mirxalyn's dangerous facade even by speaking. "Don't even think about hurting her without knowing who she has become." Her voice was cold and dead serious as she warned them. But she grinned as soon as she turned to me, announcing my position in their family. "She's a Knightrose's mate." Luckily, she didn't mention my marriage to her elder sister, the queen of their clan. Then, she turned to everyone, commanding. "Go to your respective rooms; classes will start in a few."

Everyone in the locker hall scattered, rushing to their respective rooms, leaving us three until Almira gave me a very tight hug, reminding me of Talia, which calmed me down. I tapped her back, making her let go before releasing a sigh, since they both gave me a knowing smile, making me shy all of a sudden.

"We know so, don't be shy. You're just changing, Bernila." With a teasing tone, Almira said proudly, and I could not believe what she told me. Then she continued, "I saw what you did, and it'll spread to school later on. So don't be surprised if either trouble or new potential friends come to you. Oh man, I could already imagine the jealousy from my sister."

"I agreed, she will be more possessive than she already is." Allison teased me too, making me roll my eyes despite the blush on my cheeks.

"Oh, please, don't remind me." I groaned, pouting, but she chuckled and pinched my cheeks.

"But, this is the second phase you needed to face after getting used to the household." Almira turned serious as she reminded me of a new challenge I had to face. Then she advised. "You must fully overcome the monster in your closet. If not, be the master of it." I could only nod and let them drag me to another locker area, which had a shower and my section.

To my surprise, a jersey was waiting for me, and I looked horrified at it. "You've got to be kidding me."

They grinned, but Almira said. "Go and change, it'll be fun."

I groaned. "Where's the fun if you don't like anything that has to do with combat skills?!" I protested internally, but I couldn't do anything about it and wore the full set of Blood Knight Rose Academy jersey. Then, against my will, I was dragged to our same special class. "Can somebody save me from this?"
