Chapter 75 - Run away

A short, sharp crackle sounded, and scorching biological plasma rounds bounced in the dark catacombs.

This flickering sphere of lightning almost illuminated half of the catacombs.

Marquite hurriedly manipulated the surrounding plague zombies, these rotting corpses gathered together, forming a grotesque wall of flesh.

But the moment the bioplasma collided with it, the air was filled with the smell of burnt decaying flesh.

In the blink of an eye, the wall of flesh formed by the plague zombies was easily shattered, and the sphere surging with electric light rushed towards Alexander.

Alexander was not surprised by this at all.

Executioners among the Tyranid are equivalent to Dreadnoughts among the Astartes.

And the Screamer-Killer is the largest and most terrifying subspecies of the Executioner.

They not only possess four sharp and deadly claws but can also gather their infamous incandescent bioplasma in their esophagus.

This bioplasma scrapes against the grates in its esophagus, roaring out with a sharp, piercing low hum.

Even a Dreadnought, if hit by one of these, would be severely injured or killed.

A typical Dreadnought usually needs to be accompanied by a squad of Terminators to reliably hunt such a monster.

A mere group of plague zombies was like chopping vegetables for a Screamer-Killer.

Without hesitation, Alexander grabbed Marquite, took out a Any Ring from his embrace, and clasped it onto the wall.

He pulled Marquite and entered the Any Ring.

The scorching plasma arrived and exploded the next second, blinding electric arcs whistled around, and the high-temperature impact directly melted the steel forming the walls, leaving a pool of molten iron dripping down.

However, between the molten iron and the splashing plasma, Alexander and Marquite were nowhere to be found.

The surrounding plague zombies let out sharp, piercing roars, their flesh further swelled, becoming stronger.

Plague zombies, armed with various weapons, twisted their mutated bodies and charged towards the Screamer-Killer.

The Screamer-Killer violently vibrated its four blades, and crackling static electricity sparked, with scorching plasma arcs coiling around them.

The Screamer-Killer could not only release bioplasma through its esophagus but also generate scorching electric arcs through the electrostatic fields on its blades.

Its blades swung like light, and the electric arcs were as blinding as whips, instantly carving out a circle of charred corpses in the midst of the plague zombie encirclement.

While wielding its four blades, it searched for traces of Alexander and Marquite.

Its keen biological senses subtly detected that Alexander and Marquite might have hidden themselves in the pipes within the wall using some method.

It twisted its enormous head, followed its senses to locate the two within the wall, and once again began to brew scorching bioplasma in its mouth.

The behemoth intended to directly blast through the wall and roast the two into charcoal.

However, Alexander's figure suddenly flickered, appearing above the Screamer-Killer's head.

Alexander, relying on his understanding of Tyranid biological forms, swung his fist, wearing Superman Gloves, at the 'bald' spot on the Screamer-Killer's head, which was not covered by chitinous armor.

But the Screamer-Killer displayed a flexibility almost impossible for its size, suddenly twisting its body, causing Alexander's fist to strike the thick carapace on its back.

A series of crisp sounds emanated from the carapace, and cracks appeared on the behemoth's thick armor.

But relying on the perfect biological carapace designed by the Tyranid, it stubbornly withstood Alexander's punch.

The Screamer-Killer shook its body, dodging away from Alexander's fist with a flash.

Alexander's figure flickered again, disappearing from beside the Screamer-Killer.

However, the Screamer-Killer's agility was extremely high, and its reaction speed was unnaturally fast.

It almost instantly located Alexander's position after the teleportation, and its seven-to-eight-meter-tall body was in front of Alexander in the blink of an eye.

Its sharp claws descended simultaneously from four directions with a speed that no mortal could match.

The hunting knowledge deep within the Screamer-Killer's genes told it that the hunt for this small creature was successful.

Even the genestealer patriarch, hiding in the shadows and extremely cautious, almost believed he had won.

Ding

A crisp sound rang out.

In the shadows, under the astonished gaze of the genestealer patriarch,

Alexander raised the hand holding the toy-like short sword, blocking one of the Screamer-Killer's claws with completely inhuman posture, speed, and strength.

Then, he deftly parried the claw and almost simultaneously blocked the other three claws.

The Screamer-Killer's four sharp blades once again swung down at high speed, leaving streaks of afterimages in the air.

But Alexander seemed to be at ease, the hand holding the Sword of Light. Denkōmaru seemed to move on its own, effortlessly blocking every attack from the Screamer-Killer.

The balanced, deadly, and swift blades of the Screamer-Killer, from the Leviathan hive Fleet, having undergone countless genetic iterations,

And the Sword of Light. Denkōmaru, a 9+ children's toy sold in the Future Department Store from the 22nd century,

The two collided in the dark catacombs, seemingly evenly matched, neither superior to the other.

This scene made the genestealer patriarch, lurking in the darkness, feel a bit numb.

The Screamer-Killer was the pinnacle of the Tyranid Executioner design.

All four of its arms had evolved into pure blades, completely abandoning all types of Tyranid ranged bio-weapons.

The instinctive swordsmanship integrated into its genes was something many lifeforms could not cultivate even after hundreds of years.

But now, this human, who had not undergone any modifications and possessed only an ordinary human body,

Was actually fighting the Screamer-Killer to a standstill with a blade that was not sharpened and looked like a toy.

The genestealer patriarch even suspected that the genetic sequence information sent to him by the hive mind might have been a stripped-down version.

In reality, if it had been an Executioner equipped with ranged Tyranid bio-weapons or another Tyranid Behemoth,

Alexander would not have had such an easy time fighting.

But the Screamer-Killer, apart from its extremely deadly bioplasma, which required time to charge,

Had almost all its abilities invested by the hive mind into close-quarters melee with its blades.

And the Sword of Light. Denkōmaru in Alexander's hand, as long as it had power, was not afraid of such close-quarters combat.

In melee at zero range, it was also very difficult for the Screamer-Killer to seize an opportunity to release bioplasma.

The genestealer patriarch did not know these things.

Watching Alexander fighting the Screamer-Killer to a standstill, his vigilance greatly increased.

This guy seems a bit dangerous. A thought of secretly running away arose in his mind.

If it weren't for the fact that it still seemed to have the advantage, the genestealer patriarch might have actually run away.

He quietly moved his huge body, moving silently in the shadows, and stealthily crouched behind Alexander.

The genestealer patriarch wanted to find an opportunity.

Such intense close-quarters combat consumes a lot of energy.

He would launch a sudden attack when Alexander and the Screamer-Killer were in their most intense confrontation and least able to guard against a sneak attack.

Now!

The genestealer patriarch suddenly lunged out of the darkness, pouncing on Alexander with his four claws.

"Behind you." The voice of the winged figure sounded.

Alexander calmly turned his head to look at the genestealer patriarch who was ambushing him.
