"That Raven Guard is so powerful it's frustrating," Titus thought to himself, a little silently, as his Chainsword took the life of the last World Eaters Berserker.
His Chainsword, innocence, was complaining to him, grumbling that Titus hadn't allowed it to claim the blood of the four most valuable enemies.
There was nothing he could do. Titus had witnessed the Raven Guard's strength many times. Although that one always humbly said he was just an unremarkable Raven Guard, and there were many stronger than him in the Raven Guard,
Titus knew it was just humility. If every Raven Guard truly had his level of skill, what would they need the Ultramarines for?
They, the Ultramarines, might as well follow their Primarch, Roboute Guilliman, to the Five Hundred Worlds of Ultramar and find a planet to farm.
"All the glory of this battle goes to the Man in the Shadows," Captain Karlaen said, a little dejectedly.
All the elite Terminators of their Blood Angels had taken high-efficiency pills, and after entering the battlefield, they were practically human meat grinders. Their battle with the World Eaters Berserkers was almost a massacre,
This also meant they had very little sense of experience, feeling there was no honor to be had in the battle.
"More than personal glory, I now care more about fighting for the Emperor, for humanity, for the Primarch, and for Saint Doraemon," Titus nodded slightly, smiling as he spoke.
"Ultramarines are truly serious," Captain Karlaen responded jokingly, "Let's proceed with the plan."
The War Council on the Light Lord and Lord Dante on Baal had jointly devised dozens of plans,
Among them, the twenty-second plan, blessed by numerology, was deemed the most suitable by the Truth and Falsehood Divination Machine.
According to that plan, the Ultramarines unit led by Titus would act separately from Karlaen's unit.
Acting separately within the unfamiliar, dim, and extremely complex Conqueror did not seem like a good choice, as it could easily leave their units isolated and vulnerable, leading to them being defeated one by one by the enemy.
But Karlaen and Titus felt no fear, for the gaze of Saint Doraemon always watched over them, staying with them like a shadow,
And in the shadows, in people's visual blind spots, they also had other allies.
In the void, the Light Lord was like a brutal and wild golden behemoth, constantly unleashing immense firepower in all directions, crushing the ships that tried to approach it. Countless carrier-based aircraft streaked through the void, cutting through their prey like a swarm of bees.
The World Eaters' ships could not get close to the Light Lord. This Emperor-class Battleship, once belonging to Macarius, was one of the largest, most heavily armed, and most sacred ships in service with the Imperial Navy fleet today. It continuously displayed its divine might in the void, its prow, adorned with the Emperor's holy effigy, pointing towards the Conqueror, which could only be seen on the augur array in the far distance.
Perhaps this ship inherited Macarius' personality, or perhaps it was simply the words of Khârn, who previously wanted the Conqueror to become Alexander's new flagship, that stirred its competitive spirit. This Emperor-class Battleship actually had an urge to compete with the Gloriana-class Battleship Conqueror.
But Alexander did not allow it to do so. According to the plan, the Light Lord would always maintain a safe distance from the Conqueror and would not engage in direct combat with it. The task of engaging the Conqueror was entirely left to the Blood Angels' fleet.
The Light Lord's duty was to keep Alexander and the Conqueror at a distance where an anywhere door could instantly reach.
Inside the bridge, Alexander sat in his designated seat, with four tracking image mirrors in front of him. Two mirrors reflected Titus' Ultramarines squad and Karlaen's Blood Angels Terminator squad.
They were steadily advancing through the Conqueror, which was filled with mutated flesh, and had not encountered any obstacles for the time being.
And the other two…
"My Lord, Lord Khârn, he…" Sol, the Primaris Space Marine Captain guarding Alexander, said with some hesitation.
Khârn in the mirror looked unwell. He stood in the Conqueror, wearing the Blind Spot Star, gripping his Chainaxe tightly, his body trembling slightly, seemingly moved, seemingly angry.
"Don't worry, he is Khârn," Alexander shook his head slightly, signaling Sol to relax.
Khârn would never falter when it came to hunting Erebus.
It was just that returning to the Conqueror and sensing that the Conqueror and Captain Sarine were being enslaved, the anger welling up in his heart became uncontrollable.
And this anger could be forged into a searing blade, to stab Erebus.
In this operation, Titus' and Karlaen's teams were both a feint. The real key still lay with Sarojin and Khârn.
Hearing Alexander say this, Sol also felt a little relieved.
Although Khârn was a traitor, he had taught Sol a lot these days. Sol was not a heartless person; he couldn't help but worry about Khârn.
'Senior Khârn, may the Emperor forgive your soul, and may He protect you from being consumed by anger,'
Sol prayed silently in his heart.
Damn…
Suddenly, Sol felt a pang in his head, and his consciousness blurred for a second or two,
But it felt like an illusion, as if nothing had happened.
He shook his head slightly, clearing his mind a bit.
Sol lowered his head and saw Alexander gazing at the tracking image mirror that reflected Karlaen's figure.
This First Captain of the Blood Angels seemed to have encountered an enemy.
The relic weapon in Karlaen's hand, Baal's Wrath, roared, releasing a brilliant blue energy field that brutally shattered the mutated crewman lunging at him into dust.
Karlaen hadn't encountered any decent resistance on this journey, which made him worry about Titus' situation.
But Saint Doraemon must be watching over them. According to the plan, if either Titus or Karlaen encountered an attack, Saint Doraemon would notify the other to come to their aid.
He wondered if Titus also hadn't encountered any decent resistance, or if Titus was so strong that he simply didn't fear any resistance?
Karlaen and Titus had sparred in the gladiatorial cage, and Titus was so strong that Karlaen felt a bit numb.
Wasn't this guy the former Second Captain of the Ultramarines? How could he, a First Captain of the Blood Angels, find him so hard to deal with?
Especially since this guy fought completely without fear, without pain, without hesitation. His Chainsword swung with such ferocity that Karlaen even wondered if Ultramarines also experienced Bloodthirst?
While grumbling in his heart, Karlaen continued to swing the Power Hammer in his hand to clear a path. He led his Terminator squad into an empty ship compartment.
As he stepped in, Karlaen felt a sticky sensation under his feet. He lowered his head slightly, and the bionic eye embedded in his left eye rotated, allowing him to see that beneath his feet was a viscous, jelly-like pool of blood, with many mutated crewmen's severed limbs soaking in it.
And directly in front of him, a massive brass Khorne symbol stood, with countless skulls hanging from it.
Karlaen's expression immediately turned serious. He smelled a terrifying scent in the air.
A bestial, wild roar erupted, and a teleportation light suddenly flared in mid-air, blasting open the blood pool and illuminating the dim ship compartment.
It was a group of World Eaters, clad in crimson Power Armor, their grotesque, mutated arms and heads exposed to the air.
The flesh and Power Armor of these World Eaters had grown together. They gripped various Chainswords tightly, enveloped in a strong scent of blood and Warp energy.
Undoubtedly, these were possessed warriors, but not just any possessed warriors, these were…
Karlaen quickly recalled the booklet Alexander had recently completed, "Warp Common Knowledge Even Psyker Muggles Say Is Good." That booklet had received praise from Guilliman and recorded many Warp-related enemies, including the enemies Karlaen now faced.
They were Eight Bound! World Eaters possessed by eight daemons!
Savage roars erupted from the battlefield. Eighty-eight Eight Bound screamed and charged at the Terminator squad led by Karlaen.
Their grotesque Chainswords slammed directly onto the Terminators' Power Armor, attempting to cut through them.
The battle instantly erupted. The smell of blood filled the air. The Blood Angels roared, the Eight Bound roared.
Karlaen led the charge, the holy relic Power Hammer, Baal's Wrath, in his hand glowing with an azure plasma light, like a meteor in the night, heavy as a thousand pounds, directly smashing the head of one Eight Bound, then crashing heavily into the blood pool.
The energy field exploded, and the splashing blood was vaporized in the high-temperature energy field, simultaneously knocking away three other Eight Bound near Karlaen.
Just then, a claw with a grotesque, bloody mouth lunged at Karlaen, a circular saw roaring from its claw, aimed directly at Karlaen's neck, attempting to decapitate him in one blow.
Karlaen's teeth moved slightly, biting down on a high-efficiency pill hidden in his mouth. His figure instantly transformed into an afterimage, dodging the deadly circular saw, and turned his head to see the enemy that had attacked him.
That was also an Eight Bound, but more deeply mutated. Its flesh was almost fused with the weapon in its hand, its feet had become bestial claws piercing its power boots. Overall, it was closer to a demon than a human.
Godly Eight-Bound, Eight Bound completely fused with the eight daemons possessing them!
As Karlaen dodged the circular saw Godly Eight-Bound, another Godly Eight-Bound circled behind Karlaen. This Godly Eight-Bound held a Ripper Chainblade in both hands, slashing at Karlaen from the side.
The circular saw Godly Eight-Bound also pressed its advantage, and with the Ripper Godly Eight-Bound, they attacked Karlaen from front and back, blocking Karlaen's escape route.
But… the whirring sound of a propeller began. The Take-copter on Karlaen's head activated, lifting Karlaen, clad in heavy Terminator Power Armor, into the air.
The two Godly Eight-Bound stared blankly for a moment, completely unprepared for Karlaen to suddenly fly into the sky. This was entirely beyond their cerebellum's expectation.
"Traitors, isn't it perfectly reasonable for me, a Blood Angel, to fly?" Karlaen grinned. With the help of the high-efficiency pill and the Take-copter, he descended like a crimson meteor, directly smashing his Power Hammer onto the heads of the two Godly Eight-Bound in one blow.
The two Godly Eight-Bound couldn't withstand such a heavy blow and fell directly into the blood pool.
Karlaen took the opportunity to observe the surrounding situation. It seemed his Terminator squad, with the aid of Saint Doraemon's tools, was still in an advantageous position. Although some had died, once the battle ended, Saint Doraemon would send people to bring the bodies back to the Light Lord, and they could be resurrected again—
Suddenly, a terrifying, sulfur-laden roar echoed in Karlaen's ears. This roar seemed to be mixed with endless fury, causing Karlaen's body to tremble and an inexplicable fear to rise in his heart, leaving him frozen in place.
A Chainsword, fused with a fleshy arm, cleaved reality, tearing open a bloody teleportation portal.
Splat!!!!
