Chapter 49 - Chapter 49: The Glowing Glass Jar

Having absorbed every last trace of light, the blue tornado formed by XLR8 blazed into gold, radiating dazzling brilliance and flickering with blinding electrical arcs.

After spinning for about half a minute, XLR8 gradually slowed and finally came to a stop.

Countless Buzzshock clones drifted down from the sky, tumbling to the ground like scattered sparks. Their eyes were dazed, tiny tongues hanging out as golden stars spun around their heads—both ridiculous and oddly cute.

XLR8 scanned the area. The little creatures lay everywhere, packed densely across the ground—at least a few hundred by rough count.

Seeing this, he instantly became a streak of blue light, reaching the Rustbucket in just a few seconds.

"All done. Time to get them into the glass jar." XLR8 jumped onto the van roof and hauled down the oversized glass container. "These little pests are covered in electricity. With glass as an insulator, they won't be able to get out."

Before anyone could answer, XLR8 shot off again like a gust of wind, racing back toward the dam.

Swish! Swish! Swish!

A rapid blue blur spiraled around the scattered Buzzshock, sweeping them up like a raging storm and flinging them one after another into the jar.

XLR8's speed was unmatched. A few Buzzshock began to stir awake, but before they could even blink, a black claw had already grabbed them and tossed them inside.

From the moment the sparks fell unconscious, to XLR8 fetching the Rustbucket and returning with the jar, to capturing every last Buzzshock—the entire process took less than ten seconds. It was lightning-fast in every sense of the word.

He sealed the jar tight, trapping hundreds of Buzzshock inside. They pressed their faces against the glass, glowing eyes full of helpless frustration.

"Let's see you try any tricks now," XLR8 said with a smirk. Releasing them was clearly not an option.

Soon, the group piled into the Rustbucket once more, driving back toward Sparksville. On its roof sat the massive glass jar, glowing so brightly that even the black tarp couldn't fully hide its light.

...

At Sparksville, workers were busy repairing rides, rebuilding damaged areas, and restoring power.

Grandpa Max handed the glowing jar to the Mayor with a smile. "I hope this incident doesn't hurt your business. I've got too many memories tied to this place—I'd hate to see it shut down."

The seemingly run-down park still held a special charm for him.

"Thank you for helping Sparksville recapture Buzzshock," the Mayor said. His face remained emotionless, but his tone had softened noticeably. He paused, then continued, "As for closing down, you can rest easy. This glowing glass jar will draw in plenty of visitors.

We can use this opportunity to make a fortune, bringing in the funds we need to make Sparksville more prosperous than ever."

Grandpa Max nodded. "That's good to hear."

"Of course," the Mayor added calmly, "as long as everyone follows the rules."

After a short rest, the group set out again, continuing their long, sweltering summer road trip.

Ben lounged on the sofa, munching on a bag of Sumo Slammers. "Hey, Cuz, I saw Sparky grab you earlier. You okay?"

"What? That little lightning pest dared to touch my cousin?" Gwen snapped, clearly annoyed.

Lucian shook his head with a faint smile. "It's fine. Just a grab, nothing serious—and honestly, I let it happen on purpose."
