Chapter 3 - Ch3:The birth of the soul crystal

Alex sat in silence at the center of his room, his eyes half-closed and his face etched with intense concentration. His body was perfectly still, yet within him raged a storm of energies, moving slowly as if planets orbiting a hidden sun. That sun was nothing but the core of his very soul.

Gradually, his consciousness slipped inward. He felt himself transitioning from the physical world into a realm that belonged solely to him—a world of dark stillness scattered with threads of light, like distant memories. He found himself standing on the surface of a perfectly calm lake, stretching endlessly before him, surrounded on all sides by thick darkness. There was no sky, no land—just pure void that embraced everything and yet contained nothing.

In the midst of that lake, Alex saw the four fragments of his soul floating gently, each radiating a distinct light, as if each represented a different note in the symphony of his existence. The four fragments moved slowly, like sleeping breaths awaiting awakening. Standing there, Alex sensed an inner calling—a voice urging him that the time had come to attempt something dangerous, something he wasn't sure he could control.

He closed his eyes in that inner world and focused all his awareness into a single point, directing it toward the four fragments of his soul. He wanted to see if what he envisioned was merely a crazy idea or a true possibility.

He began manipulating the fragments, guiding them with his spiritual energy as if they were threads of light. The first fragment moved, then the second, third, and fourth, slowly converging. It was like moving mountain-sized blocks within a thick fog; each motion demanded immense mental effort, and each attempt to merge them met natural resistance from the soul itself, as if it did not wish to be touched.

But Alex did not yield. He continued to focus, pouring all his will into controlling his energies. Sweat began to trickle down his brow in the physical world, while in the inner realm, the light gradually coalesced between the four fragments. With each beat of his heart, the gaps between them narrowed until they finally fused, forming a hexagonal crystal, glowing with pale blue light, pulsating with a strange energy he had never felt before.

The crystal rotated slowly above the lake, radiating a dense spiritual presence, like a new heart beating within him. Alex could perceive it clearly through his inner vision, sensing that it was not merely a symbol or shape, but a living entity born from the essence of his own soul.

Then he summoned his third ability—the shaping of the soul. Raising his hand in his inner world, a beam of blue light extended toward the crystal. The crystal trembled, expanded, and gradually transformed into a larger form—a semi-spherical entity floating at the center of the lake. Its outer surface shimmered, changing colors like the shell of a mysterious planet. Inside, the four fragments of his soul swam slowly around a luminous core.

The scene was majestic; each fragment radiated a distinct tone, like a spiritual orchestra playing a sacred melody heard only by him. Alex felt that this new entity was the first building block of an ability that would be key to his survival in this strange world.

He closed his eyes once more and began shaping the four fragments within the entity, each with a specific purpose he had envisioned with his mind and awareness.

He started with the first fragment. He focused on it, surrounding it with a soft golden light. He murmured to himself:

"You are the fragment that embodies life… everything I have seen, everything I have known, every living being I have encountered in my past… you will be the memory that brings them back to existence."

The first fragment glowed, transforming into a pulsating mass of life, as if containing millions of shifting images: human, animal, bird, and formless shadows. This fragment now had the ability to manifest living beings from his previous memories.

Next, he turned to the second fragment, surrounding it with pure silver light. He spoke to it with inner confidence:

"You are the hand that reaches into the world… you will be the bridge between the inner and outer, capable of bringing what exists within the soul into reality."

The second fragment trembled and settled within the entity's inner wall, radiating energy outward, signaling the birth of his second ability: projecting manifested beings into the real world.

He then turned his awareness to the third fragment, volatile and crackling with restless energy. Alex grasped it with his will, speaking firmly and calmly:

"You are the fragment that unites the powers… you will be the link between souls, able to merge different abilities within the beings I form."

Immediately, the fragment glowed with a deep violet hue, pulsating with a flexible power that unified differences, granting Alex the ability to combine abilities within the main form he created.

Finally, Alex faced the fourth fragment. It was peculiar, almost transparent, seemingly detached from the others. Alex understood this fragment to be the most mysterious, closest to the pure concept of consciousness and meaning.

He raised his hand toward it, speaking in a whisper-like voice:

"And you… will be the bridge between the entity and the world. You will not be a mere tool, but an eye that seeks meaning. You will grant the beings I create the power to absorb mana from the external world, granting me the strength to face the unknown."

As he spoke, the fourth fragment bloomed like a flower of light, sending translucent threads extending to the edges of the circular entity. Alex sensed that these threads connected to the physical world itself, as if his consciousness had transcended the boundaries of the soul.

The entity before him in the inner world was now almost complete, rotating slowly above the spiritual lake, emitting a celestial light that illuminated the surrounding darkness. Yet Alex understood that the entity was not truly alive; it possessed no independent soul or consciousness, but was rather a spiritual instrument or sentient weapon, crafted as an extension of his will.

Alex stood staring at it in deep admiration, his heart filled with a mixture of pride and awe. He knew that what he had created was not just a technique or new ability, but the beginning of a complete system that could change how he interacted with the world.

He reached toward the circular entity, and it responded immediately, pulsating in rhythm with his heartbeat. Alex felt the boundaries between himself and this entity blur, as if they had become one. He whispered to himself, with absolute certainty:

"Now I have the power to explore this world."

At that moment, the entire inner world began to tremble slowly, and the light intensified until it engulfed everything. When Alex opened his eyes again, he was still seated in his room, but his soul had changed—deeper, stronger, more present.

A new entity had been born within him: a hexagonal crystal transformed into a circle of meanings and powers. Though still, Alex knew… this spiritual weapon would one day become the key to his greatest evolution.
