Shota along with a dozen samurai and half a dozen shinobi under the Daimyo, along with a royal courier, were running straight to Suna.
The group moved quickly across the desert, their feet kicking up sand as they traveled without stopping for long. Shota was being healed on the way by Ilumi, the iryo-nin who had come with him.
Thanks to her constant care, he was back to about seventy percent of his strength. By the time they would reach the village, he would be nearly fully healed.
After two days of hard travel, they finally reached the village. The tall walls of Sunagakure appeared in the distance, welcoming yet imposing under the bright desert sun.
The gate guards were surprised to see a small contingent from the Daimyo arriving with a royal courier. A royal courier was someone the Daimyo only sent when he had a new law or an important decision to announce to Suna. They immediately knew that this was not a normal visit.
As Shota reached the village gates, he stood tall despite his recent injuries and spoke clearly. "Daimyo-sama has made a change in Suna's constitution. Tell the Kazekage, the elders in the council, and even the Anbu commanders of every division to be present for it. There is news that everyone should know. It is urgent. Everyone needs to attend."
The Anbu who were secretly listening at the gate jumped into action. They disappeared quickly to report the message to the elders and the Kazekage. Whispers spread fast among the gate guards as they realized something big was happening.
"It is show time," Shota said with a grin, his eyes shining with confidence and a bit of excitement.
---
Spider received the information while sitting in his office. He rubbed his forehead and muttered, "So you have made your move, Shota. Let us hope that you do not get me fired."
He leaned back in his chair, thinking about the young operative he had mentored. Shota had always been unpredictable, but this was something very big.
Bringing a royal courier from the Daimyo meant major changes were coming. Spider could only hope the boy had not stirred up too much trouble. He sighed deeply, already imagining the mountain of paperwork that would follow this meeting.
---
Rasa looked at the Anbu who had just told him that the Daimyo had sent a royal courier along with Shota Aizawa. The Kazekage's expression remained calm on the surface, but his mind was racing.
'First he left. He was then found injured in the middle of the desert but instead of reporting to me he went straight to the capital and met the Daimyo. And now he has come with a royal entourage. What is the boy up to?' Rasa thought.
Shota Aizawa was a mystery that he had yet to fully discover. The boy was found as a baby outside of Suna and was brought to the Suna orphanage by some kind-hearted Suna shinobi. He was quite talented when he joined the academy, and when his dojutsu was revealed, the whole of Suna and the elder council were in an uproar.
Rasa continued thinking deeply. 'As for the boy's personality, he does whatever is best for Suna. And he is completely loyal to Suna despite his lazy nature. But there is where the problem lies.'
Shota was loyal to Suna but not necessarily to Rasa personally, and that did not sit well with the Kazekage. That was why, despite the boy's successful mission record, Rasa had not given him much help with powerful jutsu rewards that would make him stronger and might threaten his own position.
Even the advanced nature manipulation training had been delayed despite the council wanting the boy to become stronger. It was only when he had no choice that Rasa gave Spider the go-ahead to teach the boy about it.
'Let us hope that the boy has not done something that would cause a civil war in Suna,' Rasa thought as he prepared to go to the meeting chambers. He straightened his robes and walked with steady steps, but inside he felt uneasy.
---
Elder Daigo also got the summons for the meeting. He paced around his room in panic, his hands trembling slightly as he read the message again and again.
"The boy not only managed to survive Sasori but somehow has come to the village with the Daimyo's protection and entourage. My man is not back either and I have not received a word from Sasori," he mumbled to himself, fear clear in his voice.
He stopped pacing and clenched his fists. "There is definitely something wrong. Either the boy managed to kill Sasori, which I think is absolutely ridiculous, or there is only one thing that could have happened. Sasori has betrayed me. I will have to prepare," he mumbled, his mind racing with dark possibilities.
He quickly started gathering important documents and calling for his most trusted guards. If Shota had brought proof to the Daimyo, Daigo knew his carefully built power was in serious danger.
---
The entire village began to stir as news of the royal courier spread. Shinobi moved quickly to inform important people. Tension filled the air as everyone wondered what major announcement was coming from the Daimyo.
Shota stood near the gates of the Council Meeting Room for the meeting to begin. The time had come to face the council and change the future of Sunagakure once and for all.
