"So we have a deal?" Kazuma asked. He looked at Shota carefully, wanting clear confirmation before handing over something as powerful as the collected nine tails chakra.
Shota nodded. "You have yourself a deal. You have my word that I will help you kill the third Hokage but only after I master the power of nine tails chakra." Shota spoke in a steady voice.
"As for your assurance, you can report it to the Kazekage and Hokage of me taking nine tails chakra if I do not continue with my promise." Shota said.
This gave Kazuma a way to hold him accountable. If Shota broke his word, Kazuma could tell the leaders of both the villages about the stolen chakra. It was a smart way to build some trust, even if it was limited.
Kazuma thought for a second before agreeing. "I would need a timeline. I cannot wait years for you to master the power." He wanted to know exactly how long he would have to wait before Shota could help with the plan against the Hokage.
Waiting forever was not an option for someone with big ambitions like Kazuma.
"Give me half a decade." Shota said and Kazuma nodded. Five years seemed reasonable to Shota for mastering such a dangerous power.
Kazuma accepted the timeline with a nod, seeing that it was a fair request given the complexity of becoming a pseudo jinchuriki.
Kazuma said, "Wait for a couple of hours. I will increase the speed of gathering nine tails chakra. Sadly I will not be able to get all the chakra since taking everything would make the sensors in the village suspicious more than they are already."
He explained the process ahead. Kazuma sat down near the black box and began making hand signs to speed up the collection of the scattered red energy. He could not take every bit because the village sensors might detect such a large disturbance in chakra.
"It would give you four tails worth of chakra if you are lucky enough." Kazuma added. This amount matched what Shota had hoped for in his earlier plans.
Shota nodded. Four tails was enough for his plans. He watched the process closely, feeling a sense of anticipation.
Kazuma himself did the process faster and did some hand signs to seal away the chakra. His fingers moved quickly as he formed the necessary seals. The black box glowed brighter for a short time before the energy stabilized.
He then gave the unlock seals to Shota. These were special hand signs and formulas needed to access the power safely later.
After that, Kazuma taught him the Fuinjutsu to seal it along with giving him the seal formula in a scroll. He demonstrated the sealing technique step by step, explaining each part in simple terms so Shota could understand and practice it.
The scroll contained detailed instructions and diagrams for the fuinjutsu, which was more advanced than what Shota might find back in Suna. Shota paid close attention and practiced the hand signs a few times under Kazuma's guidance.
Shota nodded. "Tell me why do you hate the Hokage so much." Shota asked, wanting to understand the man's deep motivations before their partnership went any further.
"My goal is to make the Land of Fire's ruler, the Fire Daimyo, the absolute and single leader of the nation." Kazuma said with passion in his voice.
He spoke at length about his vision for the future. Kazuma believed the current system created division and weakness. He wanted all power centered on the Fire Daimyo so the nation could be united and stronger under one clear leader.
"I see." Shota replied simply.
"Answer my own question. Tell me what motivates you to keep going. You are what a 14 year old kid and still stronger than me and planning schemes like taking nine tails chakra. What do you plan to achieve." Kazuma asked.
He was genuinely curious about the young shinobi standing before him.
"Well, you know my goals changed quite a lot. But I have settled on several goals. The first is to make sure Suna is strong enough to survive whatever comes its way. The second is to become strong enough so that no one bothers my sleep or bothers my close ones. Thirdly and the most recent one... becoming strong... sorts of make me feel good... it is like a rush." Shota explained his motivations carefully.
Kazuma nodded.
"And lastly, I like to get rid of scum like you." Shota said.
Shota's eyes hardened as he activated his Erasure once again. Kazuma's eyes widened as he felt his chakra disappear suddenly.
At the same time, a kunai pierced his heart. The kunai was connected to chakra strings from Shota's finger and came from his blind spot. The attack was swift and precise, catching Kazuma completely off guard after their long conversation.
"You... promised... we had... a... deal." Kazuma said with blood pouring out of him. His voice grew weaker as life left his body. He struggled to speak, shocked by the betrayal after they had shaken on the agreement.
"I lied." Shota simply said as a shadow clone appeared that quickly removed the explosive vest from Kazuma.
He had planned this outcome from the beginning, never intending to honor the deal with someone who plotted against the Hokage and the village system.
"You..." Kazuma muttered angrily with all the strength he had left. His final moments were filled with rage and regret as he realized how he had been tricked.
'Jeez did he think that if I am a kid, I am so gullible to just accept the deal. Was he even a shinobi? Technically not since he worked as a fire guardian. No wonder he was not a shinobi.' Shota thought about the situation in detail.
He reflected on how Kazuma had underestimated him because of his young age. Many people made that mistake, thinking a fourteen-year-old could be easily manipulated or trusted in a deal. Shota had used that to his advantage, playing along until the perfect moment to strike.
Shota quickly stored away the corpse and erased any signs of them being present and left back towards his inn.
