"You really are a mad lad." The old man said. The idea of willingly taking tailed beast chakra into himself seemed crazy to the him who had suffered the consequences of being a jinchuriki for his entire life, but he could see the determination in the young shinobi's eyes.
He then looked at Shota and asked, "I suppose it must be the nine tails. Or rather just its chakra. Was the nine tails attack on Konoha your doing?"
The old man wanted to know the full truth. He had heard about the destruction in the Leaf Village and wondered if Shota had planned something so terrible to get the powerful chakra.
"Nope, I am not that evil that I would cause so many deaths of civilians for just this. The nine tails attack has nothing to do with me. I just took an opportunity that presented itself." Shota said as the old man looked at him probably trying to figure if he was telling the truth or not.
After some time he nodded. The old man finally accepted Shota's words as true. He could tell the young man was not hiding anything major about the attack. This cleared the air between them and allowed them to focus on the important sealing work ahead.
Shota said, "I have a sealing jutsu. Can you check it for me?" He pulled out the scroll that Kazuma had given him earlier.
Shota wanted the old expert to examine the formula carefully before using it on himself. He handed it over and waited while the old man unrolled it and began studying the symbols and instructions written there.
"This jutsu has a specific release key but it is quite a good sealing one." The old man commented as he read through the details.
"Release key?" Shota asked. He did not fully understand what that meant and wanted a clear explanation.
"The seal placer can unseal the seal with specific hand signs at any given point of time." The old man said.
He expanded his explanation in detail so Shota would know exactly how it worked. The release key was a set of secret hand signs that the person who applied the seal could use to open it later. This allowed the original sealer to remove the chakra or change the seal whenever they wanted.
It was a safety feature in some advanced fuinjutsu, but it could also be dangerous if the wrong person knew the signs. The old man warned that such a key could be used to take back the power or even harm the host if someone had bad intentions. He suggested ways to modify it so only Shota could control it fully.
'I knew it that guy was up to no good. It is good that I betrayed him before he betrayed me. He probably wanted to use it to blackmail me to kill Hokage or just use me to destroy Konoha or even Suna.' Shota thought.
Shota felt happy and relieved at dodging the bullet. In his mind, he replayed his decision to eliminate Kazuma. The release key proved that the man could not be trusted.
Kazuma might have planned to control Shota later or force him into more dangerous tasks. By acting first, Shota had protected himself and his village from a hidden threat. This thought made him even more confident in his choices.
"If I manage to remove it and with what I have prepared for seven tails seal, we might be able to create something good. Even with the meagre Fuinjutsu knowledge we possess." He said.
The old man offered to combine his expertise with the scroll to make a better version. Even though Takigakure did not have the most advanced sealing arts, they could still improve it enough for safety. Shota listened carefully and felt grateful for the help.
Shota nodded and then remembered something. "Can you make sure that the seal is a little more resistant to genjutsu or completely impervious to genjutsu?"
"Why?" The old man asked confused. He did not immediately understand why genjutsu resistance was so important for the seal.
"According to what we learned in Konoha, the nine tails was controlled by a Sharingan and caught in a genjutsu." Shota said seriously as the old man eyes widened.
Shota explained the information they had gathered during their visit to the Leaf Village. A rogue Uchiha had apparently used powerful eye techniques to put the nine tails under control.
"Genjutsu? To control the nine tails with a genjutsu....it must be really strong." The old man muttered. He thought about how difficult it would be to overpower such a massive amount of chakra with illusions.
"Just do it for the seal on seven tails. My chakra would not have a tailed beast spirit to be caught in genjutsu." Shota said.
He clarified that he only needed protection for Fuu right now. Since Shota was taking pure chakra without the full spirit of the nine tails, he believed his version would be safer from genjutsu that tried to control the tailed beast inside.
The old man nodded. He agreed to add the extra defenses to the seal for Fuu. This would help keep the seven tails from being controlled by enemies in the future.
"And would you be open to teach me the seal itself?" Shota asked. Learning the technique would be very useful for him and for Suna.
It was not only Shota's decision to learn the seal but also the village leadership. The Kazekage and elders had discussed this before the mission.
With Bunpaku's death and with no candidate to become a jinchuriki, Shukaku would be sealed later.
It would be Shota's responsibility to seal it into the future jinchuriki. He knew Lady Chiyo had sealed Shukaku into Gaara in the original timeline, but that seal was rather crude. It was decided to get a better seal from Taki itself which Shota was happy to do.
'It would prevent Gaara from going on rampages and mostly Gaara calling Shikaku mother.' Shota thought.
The old man nodded. "Very well. We will begin the sealing process tomorrow night. It would give me enough time to prepare the seal."
Shota nodded and bowed and left.
The next day Takigakure and its shinobi seemed to have nothing to do with seven tails and the old man. They were taken outside the village in a remote shed to do the sealing process. No Taki shinobi stayed.
