The voice was unmistakably Lana Lowell's!
Lana Lowell's mind buzzed, and her vision darkened intermittently.
She stared intently at the earrings in Cora Lowell's hand.
"You... you carry a recorder with you?!"
"It's just a meal! It's not like we're here to steal secrets! How could you... how could you resort to such underhanded tactics?!"
Lana's heart was pounding wildly. How could she be caught out like this?
She took a deep breath, forcing herself to calm down.
"It's just a recording!"
"Who can prove I was the first to say that? Do you dare to swear you've never said such a thing?!"
She spoke with such righteous indignation.
If it were someone else here, they might really be fooled by her solemn demeanor and believe her confused story.
Cora Lowell let out a few light laughs.
