Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

"Gahh," with one shrieking scream, the evil god fell on his knees, cracking the earth.

His body started pulsing slowly until he finally exploded like a nuclear bomb.

The gods' thrones shook, cracks trailing across the ceiling and walls, as debris fell slowly, like snow.

Opposite him stood the hero's tattered body, blood oozing from holes carved into his flesh, his Divine Armour filled with cracks like veins.

He became both blind and deaf as a result of resisting the debuffs throughout the whole fight.

He fell on one knee, shaking.

His hand rested on the sword hilt, breathing his last breath, he lost everything, to save the world.

Then he crumbled to ashes, slowly drifting on a fleeting wind, leaving no trace.

The screen went dark, then lit slowly again.

In a room filled with a foul smell, the soft humming of the monitor clung to the boy's ears.

His eyes were red from staying up for long.

"Sheesh finally," he sighed, tears building in the corners of his eyes.

Forgotten Oath

This RPG, which he dedicated his life to playing, had finally ended.

A game that swept the world like a storm, it hooked people of all ages with its characters, world, and lore.

It was a masterpiece that people obsessed over for years.

They tried searching for the Dev, but found nothing.

As if he were a ghost, the moment he published it, he vanished, ignoring people's reviews or criticisms.

The game was too brutal, too realistic, with unlimited possibilities.

But that came with a cost, the difficulty raised along with its richness.

And the heroines took the burden of that.

For the world's sake, they were all dead by the last Quest.

"This dev really hates harems," said the boy named Leon, brushing off his hair.

Rubbing his forehead, his mind drifted to the priestess who burned away her life force to shield the hero.

Or the tsundere swordswomen who sacrificed herself buying time against the final boss.

And many others, each one with personality, likes, quirks, a full life…. all died so the plot makes sense.

"Damn it,"

He instinctively struck the table, the chilled beer spilled over his PC, light flickered across the screen, then suddenly a message appeared.

[Want to see the secret ending?]

He froze, eyeing the red message dominating his vision, then shook his head.

"Bruh, I must have been playing a lot, I'm hallucinating," Leon smiled wryly.

The moment he stood up, his vision darkened, and light faded from his eyes.

He lost balance, his body slowly falling to the ground filled with garbage.

Then came pain

Followed by the sound of birds chirping in the trees, the winds whistled in his ears, teasing them.

Slowly opening my eyes, I instinctively took a breath to clear my mind, but the air felt too clean.

Then a tide of memories struck me, the pain cracking my head, my eyes focused.

I'm Inside Forgotten Oath!

"You've gotta be kidding me"

I held my heaving chest, torn between feelings, should I feel scared or excited I'm here?

In this world, filled with awakeners, sealed Celestials, Gods, countless factions and much more.

Standing here, as a nameless Extra on the roadside, hearing my last words, I sighed sadly.

Lucien Vale, an extra who was mentioned briefly during the academy entrance.

All his screen time could be lumped up to 10 seconds, all during name-calling.

Looking down at my body, it was untrained, not because I didn't want to, but because my "family" didn't let me.

"The Vale family," I forced those words out of my mouth with a disgusted face.

They forbade me from training, fearing I'd get stronger, it was only after collecting enough money that I left them.

I held the suitcase, hands trembling, face unreadable, I will make sure to pay them back.

Ding

A blue floating interference blocked my vision.

[Name: Lucien Vale | Status: Extra | Potential: ???]

[SSS-Rank Ability: Sealed]

[Unlock Condition: Enroll In Luminaris Academy]

I blinked, then my eyes widening as I took in the SSS-rank sealed ability.

"I should…No. I must enroll in Luminaris even if it was the last thing I do!"

"For now, I should figure out how to get there", I said.

Luminaris, true to its name, was an academy that lit people's hopes, enough to become the centre of the continent.

Attracting students from every place, race, and background, you will be treated based on your performance.

The only place where someone like me could change his fate, I stood up, lifting the suitcase.

I had to reach the academy by the end of the week, because as much as it was a place of opportunities, it demanded discipline.

From the corners of my eyes, a carriage was coming my way, the wooden wheels rolled against the rough ground.

I waved my hands, the carriage stopped, the old man pulling the horse ropes, gave me mean eyes.

'Does he think I'm a beggar?' I sneered, reaching into my pocket, handing him the money for the ride.

"Alright, get in, kid", he grunted, motioning me to the back.

Dragging the suitcase heavier than me, carving trails on the ground, I finally reached the cabin.

Taking a moment to lift and push it inside, the trembling came again, reminding me how frail I was.

"Do you need some help there?" A voice came from inside the cabin.

"Man, I will appreciate it if you give me a hand here", I said with uneven breathing.

A pair of hands grabbed the suitcase from the other side.

They were quite strong, effortlessly pulling it inside, lifting my head to thank the guy, my face froze.

"Who the hel-"
