Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: Vanderbuilt Technologies’ Secret Arrangement! The Recruitment of Peter Parker!

Levi leaned back in his office chair, fingers tapping lightly on the armrest as he considered the next step. The revelation about Peter Parker's mutation was far too valuable to ignore. He turned slightly toward Izzy, his loyal AI secretary, and whispered a few precise instructions in her ear.

Izzy's expression didn't change—she simply nodded again and again, processing every command.

"Very good," Levi said with a satisfied grin. "Then let's sit back and enjoy the show."

He folded his hands behind his head and reclined fully, eyes glimmering with interest. "Our little spider is about to spin his first web."

---

Meanwhile, in the exhibition hall below, Peter Parker was beginning to feel unwell. The hum of visitors faded as his body temperature spiked sharply. His vision blurred, and his skin prickled with strange heat.

His head began to pound—thud, thud, thud—as if something inside was clawing to get out.

"Ugh…" he groaned, clutching his temples. The pain became unbearable, his knees buckled, and he collapsed to the floor.

"Peter! Peter, what's wrong?" Ned yelled, panic flooding his voice.

The crowd gasped and rushed over.

"Call a doctor!" someone shouted.

"Get help, quickly!"

"Does anyone have water?"

Within moments, chaos erupted inside the exhibition hall.

Then—

"Everyone, please remain calm!" a clear, soothing voice rang out.

All heads turned toward the sound. Izzy had appeared beside them, calm as ever, her holographic ID flickering softly on her wrist.

"Vanderbuilt Technologies has a fully equipped medical facility inside the building," she explained gently. "Our medical Modia Units are certified to perform full diagnostics and first-aid treatments. Please allow me to escort this gentleman for immediate evaluation."

Ned, frantic but trusting, nodded and lifted Peter's limp body with surprising strength. Together, they followed Izzy through the glass corridor toward the elevator.

---

Within minutes, they arrived at the Vanderbuilt Medical Division, an advanced lab glowing with sterile white light. Nurse-type Modia Units waited inside, moving efficiently as they accepted Peter from Ned's arms.

"This way, please," one of them said with a soft mechanical tone.

Ned tried to follow, but another Modia Unit extended an arm, stopping him politely. "Sir, this is a restricted area. Please wait outside until the procedure is complete."

Ned hesitated, scratching his head nervously. "Oh, okay… just, please take care of him!"

The doors slid shut, leaving Ned in the waiting area.

---

Inside the medical bay, several doctor-type Modia Units stood around Peter's unconscious form. Their optical sensors flickered blue as they received encrypted instructions directly from Levi's office.

"Primary directive updated," one unit announced. "Begin controlled scan and extraction protocol."

Blue lights swept over Peter's body. The AI doctors moved with mechanical precision, drawing 1,000 milliliters of blood for analysis and making subtle modifications to his cellular structure.

Levi's secret plan had begun.

---

Poor Peter—completely unaware of what was being done—drifted in a haze of half-conscious dreams. He saw flashes of metal, light, and mechanical arms working around him, but couldn't make sense of any of it.

Hours later, the anesthesia began to wear off.

When he opened his eyes, the world looked sharper—brighter. His limbs felt light, his strength strangely amplified. The headache was gone, replaced by a calm, almost exhilarating sense of vitality.

He sat up slowly, noticing the nurse-type Modia standing beside his bed, quietly monitoring his vitals.

"Excuse me," Peter said weakly, "where… where am I?"

"Mr. Parker," the nurse answered kindly, "you're in the Vanderbuilt Technologies Medical Department. You collapsed during your visit, so we brought you here for treatment. You're safe now."

Peter exhaled in relief. "Oh, thank you! I didn't mean to cause any trouble."

"Not at all," the nurse replied. "It's our duty to ensure the well-being of all guests."

---

Just then, the door to the infirmary opened with a soft hiss.

A tall figure stepped inside.

Peter turned toward the sound—and froze. His jaw dropped.

"President Levi!" he gasped, his voice trembling. "I—I can't believe it's really you!"

Levi smiled warmly as he approached. "Hello, Peter. Welcome to Vanderbuilt Technologies. I heard you fainted in our exhibition hall, so I came to check on you personally."

Peter's face turned red. He struggled to find words. "Th-thank you, sir! I—I'm your biggest fan! I've followed every one of your projects since the launch of your first AI model!"

Levi chuckled softly. "That's quite the compliment. I'm glad to hear it."

To Levi, this was perfect. He had planned to use subtle persuasion, maybe even manipulation, to bring Peter under his wing. But now, it turned out Parker was already a devoted admirer of his company. That would make things so much easier.

---

As Peter's excitement bubbled over, he began talking rapidly, sharing his thoughts about the company's innovations—especially the Modia Units and the rumored upcoming Upgrade Key project.

Levi listened attentively, occasionally nodding, while inwardly noting how much raw intelligence this young man possessed.

He's sharp, Levi thought. Untrained, emotional—but brilliant. Exactly the type I need.

When Peter finally paused, catching his breath, Levi smiled approvingly.

"Peter," he began in a calm tone, "I can see your passion for technology. That's something rare these days. And as luck would have it, Vanderbuilt Technologies currently has a few open internship positions. Would you be interested?"

Peter blinked, stunned. "Are you serious? I—I can work here?"

"Of course," Levi said with a reassuring nod. "Our company needs young talent—especially someone with your enthusiasm and potential. What do you say?"

Peter's disbelief slowly turned into excitement. "Yes! I'd love to! I'll do my best, sir!"

Levi laughed and placed a firm hand on his shoulder. "Good. I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do."

For a brief moment, Peter thought he'd just been offered the opportunity of a lifetime. He had no idea that Levi's motives were far more complex.
