Chapter 52 - the battle begins

The night wind blew gently over Montblanc's cliff.

The Belfast slowly began to pull away, the warm lights from her deck reflecting across the surface of the sea.

At the edge of the dock, Nami waved brightly.

"Goodbye, Kuroneko! Miku! It was nice talking with you!"

Kuroneko and Miku waved back from Belfast's deck.

"Yeah—same here!" Miku said with a bright smile.

Kuroneko gave a small nod, a bit shyer than before.

"Thank you, Nami."

"Goodbye Irene-chan! Avalon-chan! Belfast-chan!

I'll miss you all!"

Sanji shouted, forming a heart with his hands.

Irene looked at him as if she were staring at an insect.

"That man…"

Her voice was cold as ice.

Lady Avalon shook her head with an amused smile.

"Looks like he's beyond saving."

Belfast simply nodded politely at Sanji.

"Thank you for the hospitality, Sanji-san."

Sanji immediately dropped to his knees dramatically.

"Ahhh… the voice of an angel…"

Zoro watched him with a disgusted expression.

"…trash."

"Thank you for all the sweets!"

Chopper shouted, both hands full of cotton candy and cake.

Lady Avalon leaned over the railing.

"Chopper, don't eat too much. Your little teeth will rot."

"Ump!"

Chopper nodded quickly like a child caught doing something bad.

Yuuto cupped his hands around his mouth and shouted,

"Uncle Montblanc! I hope you find the City of Gold!"

Montblanc let out a short laugh.

"Kid, that's an impossible wish… but thanks."

"Mooo! I wanted to ride Yuuto's ship!!"

Luffy puffed his cheeks out, sulking like a little kid.

Nami smacked him on the head.

"What do you mean 'ride'? They have to go! They've got things to do!"

"Yeah, next time, Luffy!" Yamato said with a laugh.

Yamato waved at the Straw Hat crew.

"You all have to visit my country someday! The land of samurai!"

Zoro opened his eyes.

"…Samurai?"

"Oh, you'll definitely come," Yamato said, grinning confidently.

Yuuto looked at Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji.

"Luffy, Zoro, Sanji—use the Haki notebook Yamato showed you.

Study it carefully."

"Eh? I have to study…?" Luffy grimaced instantly.

Nami smacked his head again.

"Don't worry, Yuuto! I'll make sure these three idiots study!"

Sanji protested.

"Why am I in that group too?!"

Robin stepped closer to the cliff edge.

"I hope we can meet again someday."

Irene looked at her with a flat expression, but her eyes held interest.

"Yes. I'm rather intrigued by your intelligence."

Robin smiled faintly.

"The feeling is mutual."

Yuuto stood at the very front.

"See you all."

Belfast rang the sailing bell.

The ship slowly pulled away, leaving behind Jaya Island lit by torchlight.

The Straw Hat crew kept waving until the ship became just a silhouette in the darkness.

---

A Short While Later – Aboard the Belfast

Yuuto turned to Belfast, his expression shifting to serious.

"Belfast. Set our course toward the Marine ship you detected earlier."

Belfast bowed politely.

"Understood, Commander."

Yuuto rested his hands on the rail.

"All right…"

His eyes shone sharply beneath the hood he had put back on.

"Let's begin the hunt."

---

In the captain's quarters of a Marine warship, morning sunlight slipped through the slatted window, reflecting off the pale, jade-like skin of a young man.

He sat calmly in a large chair, wearing a modified Vice Admiral uniform—pure white, gold-trimmed, with a long cloak flowing behind him.

His long black hair was tied neatly, his eyebrows thin yet sharp like blades.

His face was strikingly handsome—but that beauty clashed with the cold darkness in his violet eyes.

He was Sah Oni, the youngest Vice Admiral in history.

And also… a Transmigrator.

"Finally… I can finally erase that little monkey.

Just a few more hours and it'll all be over."

Sah Oni's fingers tapped the table rhythmically, his gaze dark but full of arrogance.

"First, I'll take out Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji.

After that, I'll kidnap Nami and Robin… then implant mind control into them.

Once that's done… they'll be completely obedient to me."

His smile widened, growing more disgusting.

"After Nami and Robin, it'll be the Marine girls' turn… then Vivi… and Hancock…

Hahaha~ a life of pleasure is finally mine."

He stood up, spreading his arms as if welcoming his own triumph.

"It was worth waiting for Luffy's bounty to hit one hundred million.

Now I get a bonus too."

He walked toward the window, looking at another large warship following behind his main ship.

"Good thing I was allowed to use two warships. With those… victory is in my hands."

Then his eyes dropped to the desk.

"Now I just have to wait for the Straw Hats to ride the Knock Up Stream… Then I'll fly in with August Dragneel's power. I'll wipe them out in the air."

Sah Oni clenched his fist.

"With this template system, I… am unbeatable."

He paused for a moment, then spoke into the air.

"Hey, you damn system. I can roll for another template tomorrow, right?

I only have one character right now."

[Yes. The host can perform a gacha tomorrow.]

"Hehehehe—good.

I'll surpass the Admirals… and rule this damned world!"

Suddenly—BAM!

The door to his quarters burst open.

"M-Mr. Sah Oni! There's a strange ship blocking our path!"

Sah Oni hurled his cup at the soldier—barely missing his face.

"Damn it! I was enjoying my dream! Don't interrupt!"

"B-but sir! You need to see this!"

"We've already sunk plenty of ships! Just fire on it!

If it's not a Celestial Dragon's ship or a Marine vessel, destroy it!"

"H-however… this ship is… extremely large, bigger than our flagship!"

Sah Oni clicked his tongue.

"Tch… annoying."

He strode out toward the forward deck. A soldier with shaking hands offered him a spyglass.

"H-here, sir…"

Sah Oni lifted the spyglass to his eye—and his whole body froze.

"...…"

His eyes went wide.

His hand trembled.

"T-that… that's… impossible…"

He swallowed hard.

"A modern battleship… and that shape—"

His stomach felt like it dropped.

"There's no mistake… that's the Belfast."

He lowered the spyglass, breathing heavily.

"But… but… why is she here? Is there another Transmigrator?"

[That is impossible. The system only detects you as the sole Transmigrator.]

Sah Oni raised the spyglass again, forcing himself to focus.

And there, on the bow of that ship, stood a woman.

A white-and-black maid uniform, An elegant smile, A calm expression.

Belfast.

"…That… that's really Belfast… from Azur Lane…"

His pupils shook wildly—his face twisted like a horny monkey stumbling upon a free harem.

"T-THIS is a gift from the heavens…"

"This is heaven's blessing. I… as the chosen one. It has to be… it has to!"

He twisted his fingers in giddy excitement.

"Hehehe~ I'm going to get Belfast. She… she's mine…"

At the same time—

In the distance, dozens of Belfast's guns slowly turned… taking aim straight at the two Marine warships.

The Marine soldiers began to panic, but Sah Oni noticed nothing.

He was drowning in his fantasies.

"Belfast… hehehe… mine…"

Meanwhile, Belfast's real eyes were cold, sharp, and full of contempt.

"Fire."

A cold, calm, yet commanding voice echoed across the massive Belfast.

And then—

BOOM

BOOM

BOOM

Every single one of Belfast's guns fired.

The shock shook the ocean, waves roaring like the drool of an angry giant.

The two Marine ships escorting Sah Oni descended into the hell of modern artillery.

Explosion after explosion smashed into their hulls.

Metal warped, wood split, massive masts snapped like dry twigs.

Marine soldiers screamed—terrified, panicking.

With just twelve shots, both ships were reduced to wreckage.

Their remains slowly sank into the depths of the Grand Line.

---

On Belfast's Deck

Irene narrowed her eyes, watching the wrecked Marine ships being dragged under by the waves.

"This is strange. If he really has August's power, he should possess that hearing magic that can predict and foresee attacks. He should have sensed this barrage. If he had, he would've set up a magical barrier before the first shot.

So why didn't he?"

Kuroneko shrugged.

"We don't know how Transmigrators think.

Sometimes they act using… the wrong head."

Lady Avalon stifled a laugh.

The dust of the explosions slowly faded.

And there—

From the burning, sinking remains of the Marine ship—

a silhouette rose into the air.

A thin barrier shimmered around his body, deflecting debris.

But his body no longer looked human.

His skin had turned charred red, like living embers.

His hair stood straight up, wild, whipping like hellfire in the wind.

On his forehead, a thick golden circlet gleamed with mystical symbols—

three golden lines running from left and right, down his neck to his chest.

His arms were wrapped in glowing golden patterns like ancient tattoos inscribed with destruction spells.

In his hand, he gripped August Dragneel's magic staff.

Sah Oni…

had transformed.

"Ohh, so he survived.

Well, Yuuto? Need any help?"

Lady Avalon asked calmly, as if she were watching a bug take its last breath.

Yuuto didn't answer immediately.

He simply stepped forward to the tip of the bow, drawing his sword.

"No need, Sensei."

The wind lifted his cloak.

His eyes gleamed sharply.

"You guys—protect the ship."

Irene frowned.

"Protect it from what? The enemy ships are already sunk."

Yuuto turned slightly.

"From this fight."

Click.

Yuuto snapped his fingers.

Once.

Click.

Twice.

Click.

Three times.

And—

BOOM

Yuuto vanished from the deck, his body hurled forward by the explosion of wind he created himself.

In an instant, he appeared in the sky, shooting toward Sah Oni like a meteor.

The wind trailing behind him spiraled into a storm.

Yuuto shouted, filled with rising excitement,

"I'm getting fired up!"
