Chapter 87 - Chapter Eighty-Three: A New Friend

The sun rose slowly over Azure.

Noah stepped outside the small inn he stayed in, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.

"Alright… let's finish this," he said.

Before anything else, Noah took the rescued teenagers home.

He went district by district.

When he knocked on a door in Riverside, a mother screamed and hugged her daughter so tight the girl almost fell over.

Another family in Highcrest burst into tears as their daughter came running into their arms.

The citizens of Azure, thanked Noah again and again.

"You don't need to thank me," Noah said. "Just protect them from now on."

After the last teenager went inside their home, Noah turned away and walked back toward the Lower District.

The Lower District looked different now.

People weren't hiding. They were cleaning the streets, fixing broken signs, sweeping dirt off the alleys.

Emma looked around. "This place looks better now."

"Yeah," Amy agreed softly. "It's like they can breathe again."

When they reached the center of the district, Amy's dad was there waiting.

He looked worn out from everything he'd been through.

"Noah," Haru said, "you came back."

"Yeah," Noah replied. He walked up to him. "I have something important to tell you."

Haru blinked. "What's thats?"

"You're going to be the new mayor." Noah said grinning.

Haru's eyes widened. "Me? Noah… are you sure? After everything that happened?"

"Yeah," Noah replied. "You care about this island and it's people. That's enough."

Noah pulled out a folded black flag with a dragon symbol from out of his pocket.

He opened it carefully, letting it blow slightly in the wind.

Amy stared at it.

Noah handed it to Haru.

"Raise this flag all over the island," Noah said. "So anyone coming here knows this place is under my protection. No one will dare to try something stupid."

Haru took the flag, his hand shaking.

"I… I won't let you down."

Emma crouched beside little Haru, the young boy who had deceived them before.

"You," Emma said, tapping his forehead, "no more trouble, okay? No stealing, no lying.

The little boy nodded quickly. "I will! I promise!"

Emma smiled and patted his head.

Noah stepped up onto a broken crate so the whole crowd could see him.

He took a deep breath.

"Listen up!"

Everyone turned toward him.

"From today," Noah said, "this district will no longer be known as the Lower District."

Silence filled the air.

"This place… is now the Town of Dreams."

The crowd erupted, cheering and clapping.

A woman whispered, "Town of Dreams…i love it."

Noah nodded at Haru.

"You're in charge now," Noah said. "Fix this place up. Build real buildings. A dock for export. Schools. Hospitals and not just for the town of dreams but for the entire island."

Haru tightened his grip on the flag. "I'll do it. I'll build a place people can be proud of."

Noah smirked. "Good."

Noah turned to Amy.

She looked at him confused. "What's that look for?"

Noah took a step closer.

"Amy," Noah said, "join my crew."

Amy shakes her head."I told you i can't, i need to stay and take care of my father."

"You're father is alright now," Noah replied.

Emma smiled softly in the background.

"I want someone strong with me," Noah said. "Someone I trust."

Amy looked down at her hands. "But… Dad… the island… everything."

"You should go." Haru said.

Amy's head snapped up.

Haru walked toward her slowly.

"Dad…?" Amy whispered.

"You've done so much for this island," Haru said. "You've done so much for me, you helped save the lives of those teenage girls."

He placed a hand on her cheek."But you have a bigger future waiting for you and it's not on this island."

Tears filled Amy's eyes. "Dad…"

Haru pulled her into a hug. She hugged him tight, shaking.

"It's time," Haru whispered. "Go see the world. Don't stay trapped here because of me."

He turned to Noah.

"Noah… please take care of her."

Noah placed his hand on his sword's hilt and nodded. "Yeah. You have my word."

Haru placed both hands on Amy's shoulders.

"Go… and become a great pirate, my child, and Remember this...our Chiha secret family technique will grow as you grow. And maybe one day… you will unlock the final stage of the Beast Haki."

Amy's eyes filled with tears, but she held her head high.

"I will not fail you, Father," Amy replied.

Haru nodded. "I know you won't."

Amy wiped her eyes and held out her hand to Noah.

"I'm ready."

Noah took it.

Emma grabbed the other hand.

"Let's go," Amy said with a smile.

Noah breathed out.

"Vector Manipulation—Flying Thunder God."

Blip.

They vanished.

In an instant they appeared on the deck of the Scarlett Horizon, the ocean breeze hitting their faces.

Amy looked around the ship.

Noah let go of her hand and smirked.

"Welcome to the crew, Amy."

Emma clapped her on the back.

"You're officially a Rogue Pirate!"

Amy smiled.

"Drop the sails, raise the anchor, and set sail," Noah said.
