Chapter 4 - Curious Case of a Borrowed Body (3)

Hm… What should I do? Ah! I haven't asked for their names! Well, not that I need to. I just need to call them "father" or "mother" anyway…

"Mother, I've never asked what my sister's name was; please tell me what her name is."

Seeing as Ye Hua changed the topic, she smiled a little and took a breath of relief and said,

"Your sister's name is—"

Before his mother could answer, there were loud greetings from servants and soldiers and others that were around the area. They were all startled by the sudden noise.

"I didn't expect any visitors today. Did you invite anyone?"

Ye Hua's father spoke, keeping himself calm from the unexpected situation.

Seriously? What the hell is happening? This is all happening so quickly. Please take me out of this drama of a dream.

The door opened, and someone stepped in. Ye Hua could not see who stepped inside the room as he was just sitting in bed; his mother and father rushed to greet the man, getting in front of his view.

Dammit, I can't see. Why did they have to block—Ah. Damn. He's gorgeous. Wait? What am I even saying? He's a man, for God's sake. Well, I mean… Who says another man can't appreciate one's handsomeness, right? Haa… Why am I even thinking this way?

"Your highness, it's a pleasure to have you here," Ye Hua's mother greeted, bowing her head to the man; Ye Hua's father did the same.

Your highness? Don't tell me this guy is a prince? Why is such an important guy visiting? Is it because of my father? Could it be because of me? Am I some kind of rich noble's son who's best friends with the prince!? No, it can't be; he looks like the type to have no friends.

Wait a minute. Is he the one who ran a carriage over me? If he is then I'm going to beat the shit out of him, no matter how good looking he is. I must take revenge for this even if I technically never got run over.

The man whom they seem to be calling "your highness" did not greet them out loud, only giving a small nod. He had a dull expression on his face as he looked at Ye Hua's parents. His gaze scanned the room, and Ye Hua felt it stop at him. He shivered, quickly acting clueless as if he were a newborn. He avoided the man's gaze.

Why the hell is he staring? It's not like I did something! Wait, did I even do anything? Ha… hopefully not.

The man continued to stare at Ye Hua, slowly walking towards where Ye Hua was sitting up.

Stop staring at me, you damn prince creep! Ah shit. Why the fuck is he getting closer!?

The man stopped a few inches away from the bed; he continued to lock his gaze on Ye Hua. After a few awkward seconds, he finally spoke. His tone was neither gentle nor harsh. Though it came off arrogant, almost like a command.

"What happened?"

The man had asked Ye Hua as if he knew something was up.

"What do you mean what happened? I got into an accident? "

Ye Hua responded before he could even think carefully. It was like an instinct to respond.

Did I really just say that? What the he— Why did it feel so natural to respond to him?

By this time Ye Hua's sudden loss of memory was all over the villages. It would be a shock if the man didn't know about his memory loss. His father interjected into the conversation,

"Apologies for my rudeness, Your Highness. However, I'm sure you've heard that Ye Hua has been in an accident already. He is still having trouble recalling his memories; please forgive him for his rudeness."

"Hm…"

This guy. Look at him respond so coldly. How dare he!

The man nodded; he was still looking at Ye Hua as if he were waiting for an answer. At that point Ye Hua was just acting clueless because he didn't know what to answer. To take it even further, he looked down, mumbling in a very whispered voice as if to show that he was conflicted.

"I—I don't know..."

The man didn't even react; all he did was stare daggers into Ye Hua.

"Are you sure you're Ye Hua?"

"Mn. Yes, I don't know what really happened."

Man! What the hell do you know? Weird-ass good-looking guy. I mean, this guy is suspicious as hell! Why even bother to ask questions? I just said I don't know!

"I know Ye Hua won't lose his memories by getting run over; it would be more on being physically hurt, don't you think?"

Ye Hua's father interjected again, seeing that the man isn't backing off.

"With all due respect to your highness, I do not mean any disrespect towards you, but you can also lose your memories by getting run over. And I do not think that questioning my youngest son so early when he had been in a coma and had just woken up today will make things any better."

Oh? So the father isn't so useless after all. I guess I owe the old man for butting in.

After hearing this answer, the man raised his brow; he let out a small chuckle as if amused by whatever was said. "Don't think I already know that? Leave the room. It seems I can't have a proper conversation since you keep interrupting. That goes for you as well, madame."

He looked at both of them; his presence was commanding. It left no room for defiance. It seems that he was going to have a conversation with Ye Hua one way or another.

"Be lucky I am not forcing your son to talk and I am merely asking."

Both Ye Hua's parents looked at each other, obviously contemplating. A few moments later, they excused themselves and left.

Fuck. Please don't leave me with this crazy fucker.

"Now, Ye Hua, what exactly happened?" he repeated again, his tone unchanging. Though this time, it looked like he was running out of patience.

Seriously? Who the hell barges into someone's home, kicks the owners out of their son's room, and demands answers to his questions? Might as well say that he's interrogating me.

Ye Hua was in deep thought and couldn't answer at all. After all, he just woke up, and suddenly everything from his life changed. He could not know what or how this actually happened.
