Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Affliction of Female Calamity (Talent for attracting women)

"Yalin, Yalin, wake up quickly."

Accompanied by earnest calls, Yalin opened his eyes.

He found himself in a dark, quiet, and mysterious space. Silver-white dots adorned the sky above, emitting a faint, ethereal glow.

Even though it was vast and eternal, Yalin felt a sense of security and warmth, like coming home.

Standing before Yalin was a youth whose appearance resembled his own, yet was noticeably more naive. He wore ancient Japanese attire combining white and purple, with ropes tied around his legs, looking as if he had traveled from the Sengoku period compared to Yalin.

"I know you're in a hurry, but don't rush yet," Type-Moon Yalin said, placing a hand on the youth's shoulder.

"If I don't hurry, I'll truly be adrift."

The youth sighed. One doesn't know the cost of oil and salt until one manages a household; one doesn't know the high risk of national demise until one becomes a daimyo.

Like Type-Moon Yalin, the youth was also a transmigrator, Yalin, but he had transmigrated to a world similar to Japan's Sengoku period.

In the Sengoku world, various countries stood, embroiled in ceaseless conflict. It was a constant cycle of minor skirmishes every three days and major battles every five, with no time for peace.

Of course, although wars were frequent, their scale was not large.

Most were melees involving a hundred people; battles exceeding a thousand were rare.

Sengoku Yalin was relatively fortunate, being the son of the Daimyo of Verdant Province, living peacefully until the age of 12 in such a turbulent environment.

That was until Verdant Province and Azure Province recently allied to resist the invasion of Ironclad Province, only to be ambushed due to intelligence leaked by a spy.

Both Daimyos died, and their countries were severely weakened.

Sengoku Yalin was then thrust into the position of Daimyo.

Now, Verdant Province internal morale was unstable, and external enemies were eyeing it covetously. The entire Verdant Province was on the brink.

If not for Azure Province on Ironclad Province flank, sharing the pressure, Sengoku Yalin would likely have been overthrown by his vassals and presented as a gift to Ironclad Province.

This was an old tradition in Japan.

Sengoku Yalin's stress levels were through the roof, fearing he might one day follow in the footsteps of the 'Ming Dynasty God of War' and become a 'student abroad' (a captive).

The new Daimyo of Azure Province, the Son of Heaven, was softer than the previous Daimyo and not very reliable. Of course, the other party probably thought much the same of Yalin.

If not for the revival of his past life memories and his arrival in the mysterious space, where he met Type-Moon Yalin, Sengoku Yalin would have already packed his valuables and fled, planning to develop for a while before staging a Daimyo's revenge.

When the two Yalins first met, they were astonished by each other's existence, speculating that after an accidental death in their previous life, their souls had split or been replicated into an unknown number of copies, transmigrating into various worlds.

This mysterious space currently served as a central station, or perhaps a connection point for all Yalins across myriad worlds, as well as for activating and sharing talents.

Upon first entering the mysterious space, Type-Moon Yalin activated the ability to accelerate time for his own existence. Currently, the skill's upper limit was to enable a triple speed.

The cost was a significant increase in stamina consumption when the talent was activated, increased burden on the body, and lifespan also flowed at the accelerated rate.

Even with Type-Moon Yalin's physical condition, which had reached and even slightly surpassed the limits of ordinary humans through years of training, he found it difficult to maintain triple speed constantly.

It was somewhat similar to Emiya Kiritsugu's Innate Time Control, but the cost was considerably lower.

Sengoku Yalin's talent was information sharing, allowing him to share specified memories and experiences within the mysterious space.

Compared to time acceleration, this was purely a supportive ability, and its scope of application was narrow.

However, to be fair, it was quite suitable for the current Yalins.

The Yalins quickly accepted this unique method of transmigration and the function of the mysterious space, and shared their respective talents.

Through experimentation, even when the Yalins shared talents, the talent's upper limit still depended on the original Yalin's upper limit.

As for whether a talent would completely disappear after the original Yalin's death, it was currently unknown.

"I've temporarily noted down the knowledge you currently need," Type-Moon Yalin said, placing his hand on Sengoku Yalin's shoulder and sharing the relevant knowledge with him.

"This is truly a great help," Sengoku Yalin browsed through the memories, his eyes growing brighter.

This knowledge might be insignificant in modern times, but for the Sengoku period, it was priceless.

Coupled with the ability to accelerate time, his confidence gradually grew.

"We're all family, no need to be polite. If we get rich, let's not forget each other."

Type-Moon Yalin didn't mind. Didn't he know what kind of person he was?

Moreover, with talent sharing, the appearance and improvement of each Yalin could benefit the others. There was no need to harm oneself for any reason.

As the two spoke, a handsome high school student in a school uniform appeared before them, looking at Type-Moon Yalin and Sengoku Yalin with surprise and uncertainty.

For some reason, he felt a strong sense of closeness to the two, as if they were brothers from different fathers and mothers.

"May I ask who you two are?"

"Oh, a new person?"

Sengoku Yalin's eyes lit up, and he enthusiastically grabbed the high school student. What he wanted most now was for a powerful figure to help him out... "So, you're also a Yalin?"

The high school student's tone was surprised, and the joy on his face was hard to hide.

Indeed, the most reliable person in the world still had to be himself.

"The world I'm in is quite everyday for now. I'm currently studying at Sakakino Academy," the high school student said.

"The School Days world," Type-Moon Yalin mused.

"It should be more than that. Makoto Itou is still in junior high. There's also Minehama High School affiliated with a university in the neighboring city, and a newly opened private Mihama Academy not far away... Based on current information, it should be a mixed slice-of-life world, though some of these slice-of-life worlds are a bit unconventional."

Everyday Yalin said casually. Compared to the hidden dangers of type-moon and the chaos of Sengoku, his world was quite safe.

He could even act as an audience member, enjoying the protagonists' stage play up close. It was simply the best choice for slacking off.

Of course, as a member of the Yalins, he would also try his best to help Sengoku Yalin escape danger.

Every Yalin growing up was an indispensable asset.

"So what's your talent?"

Sengoku Yalin asked expectantly. Influenced by his age, his personality was relatively more active.

"...Affliction of Female Calamity (Talent for attracting women)?" Everyday Yalin was silent for a moment, first uncertain, then questioning his life.

He shared his talent, letting the other Yalins experience it.

Affliction of Female Calamity (Talent for attracting women): Destined for romantic entanglements, significantly increases attraction to the opposite sex, easily forms bonds with the opposite sex, and boosts favorability. Also easily falls into romantic troubles because of this.

Ah, this!

"It seems your romantic fortune in this life is quite strong."

Type-Moon Yalin sighed, not having many thoughts on the matter.

This talent had its pros and cons; it just depended on how it was used.

He didn't need it; he didn't have a love interest yet.

Of course, if the danger came from the opposite sex, it might play a big role at a crucial moment.

As for Sengoku Yalin, he was a bit disappointed. He had hoped for a talent that could enhance combat abilities.

As for attracting women, he was only twelve years old and not very interested.

No women in his heart, his sword naturally divine.

Now he only wanted his enemies to explode immediately.

Unless there were exceptionally powerful women in the Sengoku world, he could use this to build relationships, and even harden his heart to be a kept man wouldn't be out of the question.

But based on current understanding, such figures did not exist.

"Romantic fortune? Brothers, this is a romantic calamity!" Everyday Yalin complained. If he really pursued women, with this talent, he might end up like Makoto Itou one day.
