"
Qilangos? That great pirate? He's actually in Backlund?"
The Arbiter also seemed to know Qilangos, and Cromwell's face was full of surprise.
Lex was also very surprised. On monday, at the Tarot Club, Miss Justice and the Hanged Man had exchanged information about this pirate. At the time, it sounded like they were planning to deal with Qilangos.
It had only been a few days, and Hurricane Admiral was already dead?
He wondered who had killed him.
Could it have been someone from the Tarot Club?
Just then, Lex saw a petite figure suddenly rush towards a newsboy and buy a newspaper.
It was a girl, her coarse golden hair Glaint ing with a dazzling Light in the sun.
Lex looked closely and, sure enough, it was the 'priceless Miss' who had guided him on Tuesday evening.
He was about to say hello when he suddenly saw another woman beside the Miss.
That woman was about twenty-three or twenty-four years old, around 1.65 meters tall. She wore a light yellow, high-collared, long dress with ruffles, and her slightly curly brown hair fell over her shoulders and back. Her light blue eyes held a hint of natural laziness.
Isn't that...
Isn't that Fors, the author of "wuthering heights"?
Is she 'priceless Miss's' friend?
Lex was wondering how to approach them when he saw the two Young Misses buy the newspaper and then hurry away.
Cromwell, beside him, looked at him strangely: "Duke, do you know those two Young Misses?"
"Sort of."
Lex smiled and said, "The one with golden hair is the Miss who guided me last night. I was just about to thank her, but I didn't expect her to run off so quickly."
"Oh, right."
Lex cleared his throat and said, "If I want to find someone, do you have any suggestions?"
Cromwell spread his hands and said, "If you want to find someone, of course, you should find a private Detective."
Lex chuckled, "You wouldn't happen to know one or two private Detectives, would you?"
The Arbiter smiled apologetically, "I don't know any, but I can help you inquire if you need me to."
"Then I'll trouble you."
After this matter was settled, Lex said, "Oh, right, have you found any leads for your Sequence 8 formula?"
Cromwell first shook his head, then lowered his voice and said, "But I've heard about a secret gathering. I found out the time and place they're holding it."
"There will be such a gathering in the next day or two, and I plan to go try my luck."
Lex remembered that he still hadn't found the Pyromaniac materials, so he said, "Can you take me with you?"
Cromwell smiled, "Of course, my friend."
As they spoke, they saw the sign for Bavaria Bank, which was a branch office.
Lex looked towards the main entrance: "Do you mind if I go in and withdraw some operating funds?"
The Arbiter smiled, raised his arm, and said calmly, "I'll go with you."
Three in the afternoon.
Lex looked up at the sign hanging outside the second-floor room: 'Zreal Private Detective'.
"This is it."
This was the private Detective Cromwell had found out about for him, said to be quite capable. Lex raised his hand and gently knocked on the door.
Thump thump thump!
After a few knocks, the door was pushed open. Inside was a tall boy, looking only fifteen or sixteen, wearing an old overcoat and a bowler hat.
After his bright red eyes swept over Lex's face, he quickly passed Lex and went down the stairs.
At this point, a gentle voice from inside the door said, "Please come in."
Lex stepped inside, closing the door behind him. He saw that the space was partitioned into several areas, with two or three employees busy at work. He noticed a handsome man with short, light brown hair, wearing a white shirt and a brown vest, smiling at him.
Lex cleared his throat: "I'd like to see Detective Zreal."
The man with light brown hair shrugged and said humorously, "If there isn't a second Zreal here, then I suppose I'm the one you're looking for."
"Come, please sit here." Detective Zreal gestured towards the sofa in the reception area, then said to a female employee, "Miss Mary, two cups of black tea, please. Thank you."
Sitting down on the single sofa, Lex took off his top hat and placed it on the table along with his cane.
The handsome Detective Zreal with light brown hair leaned back on the sofa: "So, how can I help you?"
Lex smiled, "I want to find someone. How do you charge?"
Zreal revealed a set of white teeth, his smile refined: "That depends on who you're looking for and the specific difficulty involved."
Lex nodded almost imperceptibly: "I'm looking for Ms. Fors, the author of "wuthering heights". I know she lives in Backlund, but I don't know her exact address."
"Oh, I've read that book." Zreal crossed his legs, "Do you mind telling me why you're looking for this lady?"
Lex had already thought of an excuse before coming, so he said naturally, "I'm her reader, a loyal reader. I've read almost all of her works, and one day, I accidentally saw her photograph, and then..."
Lex paused, giving the great Detective a 'you know' look.
Zreal chuckled, "I see, then I understand."
"This author has some fame. I happen to know a few friends in publishing houses, so perhaps I can find some clues through them."
Zreal pondered for a moment, then said, "15 pounds, how does that price sound to you?"
It was clearly a bit higher than the Detective fees in Tingen.
Robin's image flashed through Lex's mind, but he said with no expression on his face, "Acceptable. So, how much is the advance payment? And when can I expect to hear from you?"
Zreal smiled and said, "You can pay 3 pounds in advance, and then pay the rest after I have definite news."
"As for the news, this is a 15-pound commission. My assistant and I will find the author as quickly as possible. Three to five days, I think, should be enough."
That's good.
I had originally planned to stay here for ten days to half a month, so three to five days is an acceptable wait.
Lex pulled out the wallet he had just bought yesterday from his pocket, took out some banknotes, made up 3 pounds, and placed them on the table: "Then I'll leave it to you."
He stood up and, seeing Zreal off, left the Detective agency.
Returning to Evergreen Street No. 12, Lex saw that the Arbiter was not home, so he entered the guest room and closed the door.
He took off his hat, removed his coat, and unbuttoned his collar, standing comfortably in the center of the room.
"Eye that sees everything"
"God that Oversees All Things"
As the incantation was completed, the scene in the room, the various colors, gradually deepened. When Lex felt his hands sink, the illusory, heavy tome had already appeared in his hands.
At this moment, the pages turned by themselves, stopping at the 'Authority Projection' page. Lex saw a message on the front.
'Paul Wasserman: Awesome, I saw myself appear in your biography. This feeling is really interesting, I guess other Watchers must envy me, haha.'
Lex smiled slightly. This Lord was not as fierce as he appeared.
He then turned to the message board page and saw that the previous question had already been answered.
Lex's spirits lifted, and he looked closely.
'Weak, pitiful, and helpless newbie: Don't know!'
Suddenly, Lex felt a heavy blow.
