Chapter 345 - Fireworks Show

These arrows came from the short crossbow on the wall.

After putting Roch into a coma, Lex decisively cut his throat, then 'positioned' Roch on the chair, with his back to the door.

He believed that if Roch wasn't discovered for a while, someone would come looking for the Seer.

So Lex used the short crossbow Roch collected to create a simple but effective trap.

Then, he took out the bottles of liquid from Roch's cabinet and found that they all had labels, one of which contained poison.

So Lex coated the arrowheads with poison, so that unless the person who came was Marco, anyone else would be incapacitated, if not killed.

After setting up the trap, Lex didn't linger, not even waiting for Roch's beyonder characteristics to separate, as saving people was like fighting a fire.

When he left Roch's room, Lex had already put on the Seer's face. As for his build and height, he was already similar to Roch, so he didn't specifically change them.

Lex went directly to the ammunition depot. As an important area on a pirate ship, it was not strange for the ammunition depot to be guarded, so Lex's expression didn't change at all when he saw the two guards.

He maintained Roch's gloomy expression; he had followed Roch for most of the day and had already memorized the Seer's demeanor and movements.

Although it couldn't be exactly the same, the similarity was extremely high.

Seeing 'Roch', the two guards immediately stood at attention. Compared to Captain Marco, sometimes the pirates were more afraid of Second Mate Roch.

The Seer could always come up with ways to make their lives on the ship more difficult, so they never provoked Roch unless necessary.

Therefore, when they heard 'Roch' say, "Open the door," the two guards didn't ask why and immediately opened the door.

"You two go guard the deck to prevent anyone from attacking during the storm."

Hearing the Second Mate's order, the guards dared not ask 'why' and quickly nodded, trotting away.

Lex walked into the ammunition depot and found that the inventory inside was quite substantial. There were several crates of explosives alone. As for cannonballs, they were piled up into a small hill.

Lex picked up two crates of explosives, a smile playing on his lips: "I hope they'll enjoy the fireworks show."

Interrogation room.

Marco stood up with a gasp, a cigar butt already discarded at his feet. He had already smoked one cigar, yet Laffey and Roch still hadn't returned.

Even if he was dull, he knew something had happened!

"Zot, you watch Danitz here, I'm going out to see what happened!" No sooner had Marco finished speaking than he suddenly heard a huge explosion outside, the sound seemingly coming from the bow of the ship.

No sooner had the sound of the explosion died down than there was another violent explosion, followed by a series of explosions one after another. The ship shook violently, as if the 'Big Eater' was under attack by a warship and about to disintegrate.

"What's going on!"

Marco rushed out of the interrogation room and grabbed a Sailor who was hurrying through the corridor.

The Sailor said with a mournful face: "It's the Second Mate, Boss."

"The Second Mate blew up the ship, and also detonated the ammunition depot. Our ship has a big hole blown in it and will sink soon."

Marco couldn't believe his ears: "You said Roch?"

"How is that possible!"

The Sailor gestured wildly as he spoke: "Many brothers saw it with their own eyes. 'Tin Sheet' even saw the Second Mate setting explosives near the rudder, and he was shot in the shoulder by the Second Mate for trying to stop him."

"Also, Wally, Kachi and others saw the Second Mate throw lit explosives into the ammunition depot..."

Marco listened, dumbfounded: "Is Roch crazy?"

"That might not be Roch, or he might have been controlled. Regardless, this indicates there's an intruder on board." The red-haired Zot, wearing a clown mask, walked over.

"And the intruder is either that Hunter named Rayleigh, or the Storm Church. I lean more towards the latter."

Zot glanced out the window; the storm outside was already beginning to subside: "When the sudden heavy rain started just now, I found it strange. Now that I think about it, that might have been the Storm Church's doing."

"Anyway, Captain, we should go. The rudder is blown, and the bottom of the ship is leaking. This ship can no longer move. If we don't leave soon, we might be intercepted by the Storm Church."

Marco suddenly looked at Danitz: "At least, kill this guy before we go!"

Zot immediately turned around, flames compressing inward in layers in his palm, forming a scorching white, eyeball-sized fireball. Before he could throw this fireball at Danitz, the wall on the other side of the interrogation room suddenly exploded, flames surging and wood chips flying everywhere.

Then, someone shouted from outside the opening: "Bishop, we've found Danitz."

Marco's expression changed, and he decisively turned and ran.

Zot threw the fireball into the opening, not looking at the result, and quickly followed the Captain's pace.

Danitz cowered in the corner, watching the fireball create a violent explosion that tore the opening even wider.

A wave of sorrow surged in his heart, feeling as if his life had hit rock bottom.

He had fallen into the hands of Marco and his men before, and now he was about to be captured by the Storm Church again.

Danitz didn't think Hunter Rayleigh could save him from the Storm Church; his future would probably be spent behind tall iron bars.

At this moment, someone emerged from the thick smoke at the opening.

A surge of passionate emotion rose in Danitz, and he shouted loudly: "Come on, you might be able to catch me, but you won't get me to reveal the Golden Dream, to reveal the Captain. I won't reveal even a shred of information!"

Applause rang out.

Someone whistled and said: "If Ms. Edwina were here, she might be so moved she'd marry you."

Danitz was stunned for a moment, then shouted: "Shit, Rayleigh, is that you?"

Lex, who had returned to his original appearance, walked out of the thick smoke: "It's a pity I didn't bring a camera, otherwise I'd have to take a picture for remembrance. The brave and stubborn Fourth Mate, even when imprisoned, will never yield."

"This should be put on stage, it's worth singing about."

Danitz shouted: "How long are you going to watch the show from over there? Hurry up and release me!"

Only then did Lex step forward, condensing a long sword of flame to cut open Danitz's shackles, and the Fourth Mate finally regained his freedom.

"Let's go."

After freeing Danitz, Lex walked towards the opening he had just blown out.

Danitz stretched his shoulders and said: "Aren't you going to settle scores with them?"

"You go if you want. Although I was just scaring them just now. But soon, the Storm Church will really arrive. If you get caught, don't expect me to save you."

After Lex finished speaking, he jumped out of the opening and landed on a fishing boat that had been prepared long ago.

Danitz spat on the ground resentfully: "Big Eater Marco, we'll see about this."

After uttering this harsh remark that no one could hear, Danitz followed, climbing out of the opening and jumping onto the fishing boat. Lex threw him an oar, then paddled the oar, sending the fishing boat towards the private port.
