Chapter 373 - Amon Family

Since today was monday and the Tarot Club met at 3 p.m., Lex returned to his room at the hotel after lunch.

When the clock on his pocket watch struck three, a phantom Light surged before Lex's eyes. In the familiar daze, he arrived at the majestic palace, appearing beside the ancient long table.

Within the clusters of deep red Light, other figures quickly materialized. Justice, Magician, Mr. World, Sun, and Hanged Man appeared one after another in the palace Above the Gray Mist.

As Audrey greeted Fool as usual, Lex noticed that Sun seemed a little uneasy. Recalling his attempt to find an excuse to refuse the mission last time, Lex couldn't help but wonder if he had failed?

Audrey also noticed Sun's abnormal state. After greeting Fool, she looked at Sun and asked, "What are you worried about?"

Sun said without hiding anything, "Last time, I followed Hanged Man's advice and made myself appear on the verge of losing control. As expected, I didn't have to participate in the investigation mission."

"I was sent to the bottom of the Round Tower for isolated treatment. There's a magical item there..."

At this point, Sun looked towards the head of the long table: "Respected Mr. Fool, will that magical item discover that I'm attending the Tarot Club?"

Upon hearing this, Lex chuckled inwardly.

Mr. Fool probably couldn't answer this question either. After all, the one behind the gray fog still didn't have the power and experience to match his Beyonder characteristics.

"It shouldn't."

Lex said with a smile, "This is Mr. Fool's Mr. World. Normally, a mere magical item wouldn't be able to detect it, unless it possesses a peculiar effect. However, I don't think these things can peek in here."

Chariot, you did well!

Behind the gray fog, Klein breathed a slight sigh of relief. Just as Lex had thought, he couldn't give a detailed answer to this question.

After all, he didn't even know what that magical item was.

Now, Lex had answered the question for him, preventing him from exposing a flaw or dropping his Beyonder characteristics if he answered poorly.

Seeing that Mr. Fool remained silent, Sun knew that it meant he had tacitly agreed with Chariot's words, and he immediately felt much more relieved.

He hummed and said, "I don't know what special effects it has either."

"This is one of Silver City's top secrets."

"By the way, have you ever heard of a person named Amon?"

Lex frowned. He didn't recall hearing of this person, so he remained silent and looked at Hanged Man.

Alger was a member of the Storm Church; he should know more.

At this moment, Hanged Man Alger asked in return, "Did your Silver City encounter a person claiming to be Amon during your exploration of the surrounding areas?"

"Or did you discover similar records?"

He knew, indeed.

Lex withdrew his gaze and heard Sun say seriously, "Yes, forty-two years ago, an exploration team encountered a person claiming to be Amon in the deep darkness. After returning to Silver City, they successively went mad and lost control, with only one remaining, who was imprisoned at the bottom of the Round Tower, right next door to me."

Upon hearing Sun's words, Lex felt his scalp tingle.

More than forty years ago, Silver City encountered Amon in the deep darkness. What kind of person would stay in the deep darkness?

That certainly wasn't a normal person.

Moreover, after returning to Silver City, the exploration team went mad one after another, which was clearly Amon's doing.

But there was still one person who hadn't lost control and was imprisoned at the bottom of the Round Tower to this day. No, was that person truly normal?

Perhaps he was just pretending to be normal?

"Perhaps he's also insane; that's just an illusion..."

On the other side of the bronze long table, Miss Magician voiced a similar guess to Lex's.

"An illusion is a possibility, but he wouldn't just imagine the name 'Amon' without a reason."

Alger turned his head to look at Sun and said, "In the Fourth Epoch, uh, about fifteen hundred years ago in our country, or even further back, there was once such a Family that wielded strange powers. They belonged to the Tudor Empire, and their surname was indeed Amon."

"Even in that era, where many High-Sequence powerhouses existed, this Family's surname was a taboo."

Tudor Empire?

Taboo?

Lex was touched, recalling the information about the Tudor Empire's Families he had seen in his mother's notes.

For the last one, his mother's teacher was even unwilling to tell her that Family's surname.

"You mean, the Blasphemer Family?"

"Is Amon also the surname of the Blasphemer Family?"

Lex looked at Hanged Man.

Alger looked back with slight surprise, some thoughts inevitably surfacing in his mind.

Chariot also knows about the Blasphemer Family? However, judging from his second sentence, although he knows this Family, he doesn't know Amon.

The information he possesses is incomplete. Hmm, it seems he doesn't know everything.

With this thought, Alger felt like he had control over the pace of the gathering, like he was the center of attention.

"Abraham, Antigonus, Amon, Jacob, Tamara, these were the five great Families that supported the establishment of the Tudor Dynasty, second only to the Blood Emperor."

"Among them, the Amon Family was the most mysterious, leaving the least history behind. It seems to have been distorted and concealed by some power."

"A message once spread from King of the Five Seas Nast: the Amon Family is the Blasphemer Family, and they possess the secret of stealing the power of gods!"

"Also, the Amon Family claims to be descendants of the Ancient Sun God."

The secret of stealing the power of gods?

Descendants of the Sun God!

Lex took a small breath. This was too shocking. No wonder the Amon Family was called the Blasphemer Family; they possessed the secret of stealing the power of gods!

Moreover, they also claimed to be descendants of the Ancient Sun God. This background was too powerful!

Thief!

The Amon Family must possess the Theft pathway. Only this pathway has the ability to 'steal' power. Lex thus thought of his 'thief finger' that he still couldn't sell.

He hadn't expected that at the peak of this pathway, one could even steal the power of gods.

It's a bit tempting. If I had taken this pathway back then, would it have been better?

"The Amon Family is an ancient Family from one or two thousand years ago, almost equivalent to history. I'm very curious, why could the gentleman you encountered appear around Silver City? And what was his purpose?"

At this moment, Hanged Man Alger raised several questions.

Sun, however, shook his head and said, "Mr. Hanged Man, I cannot answer your questions. This is also what I want to figure out."

"Then you should communicate more with the former captain next door and see if you can uncover new information," Alger suggested.

Lex said in a deep voice, "I agree with Mr. Hanged Man's opinion. However, you need to be careful and cautious. I think that person is very dangerous."

He thought for a moment, then emphasized, "Extremely dangerous!"
