Chapter 378 - The Boy Who Can't Wake Up

"What's wrong, Rowley? Did you see something?"

Old Hardy walked over. He had been rubbing his hands due to anxiety over his grandson, so much so that his palms were red.

"No, nothing. I must have been mistaken," Lex said in a relaxed tone. He didn't want to say anything or scare the old man without any factual basis.

At this moment, Rowley had already carried his son down. Josh, an eleven-year-old boy, was carried by Rowley into the carriage.

He looked very normal, with steady breathing and nothing particularly strange about him.

Lex even activated his Spiritual Vision and found that his aura was very normal. Of course, Lex's Spiritual Vision wasn't professional; he could only see the etheric body and the other party's aura.

As for the mental body within, he could barely see some, but it was very blurry. As for the deeper 'Astral Body' and the core 'Spiritual Body,' he couldn't even think about it, as a Hunter wasn't skilled in that area.

"Don't worry, Hardy. Your grandson is very healthy, physically, I mean," Lex comforted the old man, then added in his mind, 'I'm not so sure about other aspects.'

Hardy softly said 'thank you' and then got into the car with his son Rowley and daughter Meredith. Finally, Rowley's wife Maggie locked the door, hurriedly got into the carriage, and their family rushed to the hospital overnight.

After the carriage turned a corner at the intersection and was out of sight, Lex adjusted his top hat, glanced at the second-floor window, and then turned to leave.

He returned to the inn, grabbed Devil May Cry, changed into clothes suitable for action, put on his Thousand-Faced Traveler, and, in the guise of a middle-aged man, came to Fania Street again.

Lex easily entered Rowley's house, went to the second floor, and began checking room by room.

He activated his Spiritual Vision, not missing any details, but after nearly an hour of searching, he found nothing.

Standing by the window where he had previously seen the lady in court attire, Lex frowned slightly: "Strange, did I see wrong just now?"

The room he was currently in should be Josh's room. On the wall above the desk, many drawings were tacked up.

They seemed to be drawn by Josh, but they were mostly meaningless scribbles. Lex casually glanced at them and was about to leave when he noticed one drawing of Josh himself, his father Rowley, his mother Maggie, his aunt Meredith, and his grandfather Hardy.

Of course, you can't expect a child's drawing to be very detailed, but some details were still discernible.

For example, Hardy was wearing a chef's hat, his father Rowley had a serious expression, and Meredith was holding a syringe.

Behind their family, Josh seemed to have intended to draw another person, but either he didn't finish it, or Josh didn't know how to express it, so he simply colored that person into a black silhouette.

At the bottom of the drawing, the little boy had also written the date.

October 25th.

"It was drawn recently," Lex thought for a moment, put away the drawing, and then left Rowley's house.

Safehouse.

When Lex arrived in the living room, he saw Kaven, the Seer, who brought 400 pounds in cash and handed it to Lex.

After Lex put it away, he took out Josh's drawing and said, "Can you do me a favor?"

Kaven smiled: "Of course."

After briefly explaining Josh's situation to Kaven, Lex said, "Could you do a divination for me and see what the boy's condition is?"

Kaven nodded almost imperceptibly and asked Nafi for candles. As a professional 'Seer,' Kaven always carried some materials with him.

He was preparing for Dream Divination.

A moment later, Kaven, having finished his preparations, wrote a divination statement on a piece of paper: 'Josh Brook's current situation.'

He placed the paper with the divination statement alongside Josh's drawing, silently chanted, and a moment later, Kaven fell into a dream.

Lex didn't have to wait long before the Seer woke up.

"How was it?"

Kaven exhaled and said, "I dreamed of the boy. He was in a dim room. I can't say what place it was; the dream was too blurry."

"It felt like an old castle because I felt cold and damp, plus some of the furnishings in the room..."

"As for the boy, he was standing by the window, seemingly looking out."

"I'm sorry, that's all I saw. I can't determine if his current situation is good or bad. If I had his hair or blood, I should get a clearer revelation."

"But now..."

Lex gently patted his shoulder: "I understand."

"So, are you free tomorrow morning?"

Kaven chuckled: "Yes."

He then asked, "Is this a friend of yours?"

"Something like that."

The reason Lex was so enthusiastic was, firstly, because Hardy was connected to black star; secondly, the old man's kindness and warmth earned his respect.

Therefore, he sought the Seer's help.

A Hunter's stage is on the battlefield. In situations like this, a Seer's help would be greater.

After arranging the time and place to meet tomorrow morning, Lex left.

The next morning, he received several pages of Spirit Realm Encounters, bestowed upon him by The Fool through a ritual.

Lex didn't read them immediately. He stored these pages, copied from Spirit Realm Encounters, in his spirit world treasure chest and then left the inn.

It was Fania Street again.

Lex met Kaven at the street corner, then they went together to Hardy's house. To understand Josh's situation, the best way, of course, was to go directly to Rowley's house, but Lex had only met Hardy's eldest son yesterday, and visiting today would be too abrupt.

Standing on the porch of Hardy's house, Lex pulled the doorbell. After about ten seconds, the door opened. The old man, wearing a thick overcoat, looked at Lex with surprise: "It's you?"

"Please come in."

Although it was morning, the fireplace in Hardy's living room still had flickering flames, appearing as if it had been burning all night.

Lex and Kaven took off their coats and hats, placed them on the nearby coat rack, and then sat on the sofa.

"How is Josh doing?" Lex asked directly.

Hardy sighed deeply and shook his head, saying, "Not good at all. Last night, the hospital did many tests. All the results showed that Josh is very healthy, but for some reason, he just can't wake up."

"In that case..."

Lex looked at Kaven: "This is my friend; he's an excellent neurosurgeon. I'm worried Josh might need help, so I brought him along. If you're willing, we can go to the hospital now and let him examine Josh."

Kaven smiled, but in his heart, he thought, 'Last time I was a psychologist, this time I'm a neurosurgeon, what will I be next?'

Hardy looked at Kaven in surprise, then said to Lex, "You are truly kind. Please wait a moment while I change, and then we'll leave."
