Just as Danitz was racking his brain, wondering what had happened on Yedgar Island, Barrel, whose waist showed no discernible lines, bumped him and said, "Look over there, it seems like Rayleigh is back."
Danitz looked in the direction he pointed and saw a fishing boat heading their way, with someone on board waving.
The person's black messy hair was blown by the sea wind, his skin was slightly dark, and there was a faint scar under his left eye—it was indeed Rayleigh the Hunter!
A moment later, Lex boarded the deck of the Golden Dream. Before Danitz could ask, he quickly said, "We need to weigh anchor! We have to leave this place."
"Why?" Danitz didn't understand why he was so flustered. Not only was it only Thursday, two days away from the agreed date, but more importantly, there was only Lex on the fishing boat; he didn't see the writer Spender at all.
Lex pointed at the thick smoke on Yedgar Island: "Do you know what that place is?"
Iron Skin, with his dark skin, rumbled, "If I'm not mistaken, that's the Marshal's Residence on Yedgar Island."
"You're so smart."
Lex gave him a thumbs up: "Then do you know who set that fire?"
Before the pirates could answer, Lex pointed at his own nose: "It was me. So, are you planning to continue chatting with me here, waiting for Yedgar's army to catch up, or are you going to quickly weigh anchor and then we'll leave this place?"
Danitz was startled: "Shit, you burned down the Marshal's Residence? Has your brain been eaten by a Zombie? Shouldn't you be going to prison? Why are you setting fire to the Marshal's Residence!"
Then, before Lex could answer, the Boatswain shouted, "Quick, weigh anchor, set sail!"
The pirates busied themselves, and the Golden Dream began to move away from its original position.
"Before I answer your questions, I want to eat something. Believe me, I'm so hungry right now I could eat a Dragon."
After Lex spoke, his stomach cooperatively rumbled. Danitz shook his head, then looked him over and said, "You'd best go change your clothes; you reek of a strange smell."
Lex looked at his formal attire, which was damaged from the fight, and shrugged, saying, "Alright."
By the time Edwina arrived at the pirate restaurant after hearing the news, Lex, who had already gone back to his room to change, was leaning back in his chair contentedly, letting out a satisfied burp.
"What's going on? Where's Spender? Where's the great sea travels?"
Facing the Iceberg Admiral's interrogation, Lex calmly and unhurriedly recounted the words he had prepared on his way back.
"I modified the original plan. After landing on Yedgar Island, I approached a jailer. After spending 12 pounds, I obtained an identity as a cleaner."
"I entered the prison on Sunday, and in the following days, I successfully approached Spender."
"But to my surprise, Spender did not have the great sea travels on him. That book and his personal belongings were held by Yedgar in the Marshal's Residence."
"So I had no choice but to sneak into the Marshal's Residence. Inside, I discovered a dungeon. Many people were imprisoned in the dungeon, including several Beyonder.
"They were lured there by Yedgar under the guise of recruitment, imprisoned in the dungeon, and used as materials for a certain sacrifice."
"In the Marshal's Residence, I also encountered a high-Sequence powerhouse. I almost died at his hands. He could turn curtains, branches, and even all inanimate objects into weapons to attack me."
"I almost got strangled by my own clothes. Fortunately, an uninvited guest arrived at that moment. She was a strange woman who could use her body as a bomb and absorb others' flesh and blood to heal her injuries."
"She fought with the high-Sequence powerhouse in the Marshal's Residence, and I took the opportunity to set a fire and release the 'sacrifices' from the dungeon, creating Confusion."
"Thanks to this Confusion, I managed to get the great sea travels and successfully escape."
After listening to Lex's account, Edwina narrowed her eyes and analyzed, "The high-Sequence powerhouse you mentioned should be a Sequence 4 Puppet of the 'Prisoner' pathway."
"As for that woman, she should be a Sequence 6 Rose Bishop of the 'Secret Supplicant' pathway. Such a beyonder is skilled in flesh and blood magic and is very difficult to kill."
"However, a Sequence 6 cannot possibly contend with a demigod."
As expected of a Admiral, her knowledge truly is vast. Lex deliberately frowned and added, "Regarding that woman, I actually suspect she was coming for me."
All the pirates around him, including the Iceberg Admiral, looked at him.
"When I was in Damir Port, I was once cursed. To resolve the curse, I acted with personnel from the Storm Church. In the primeval forest of Damir Port, in an underground temple, we encountered a monster."
"That thing possessed the beyonder characteristics of a Rose Bishop, a Gatekeeper, and a Dream Walker simultaneously. We couldn't eliminate it. In the end, a Bishop had to pray, and the Lord of Storms sent down divine punishment to destroy it."
"The woman I encountered in the Marshal's Residence last night was very similar to that monster, and it seems the curse I thought I had already resolved has reappeared."
Immediately, apart from Edwina, the other pirates, including Danitz, all retreated, fearing they might be infected by Lex's curse.
Lex revealed this information because he was worried that the demigod in the Marshal's Residence might not be able to eliminate that evil creature. If it came after them again, the pirates on the Golden Dream would at least be prepared.
"Your curse, let me see it," the Iceberg Admiral said in a flat voice.
Lex raised his hand, pointing to the thumb-sized black spot on the back of his hand: "It's this thing."
Edwina held Lex's hand and observed it carefully, then shook her head: "I don't see any aura of a curse, but it emits a special, faint power that seems to be for tracking."
Really?
Then I don't have to worry about suddenly dying.
My guess was indeed correct; this black spot is just a mark, making it easier for that evil creature to track.
"Never mind that for now, where is the great sea travels?" A rare look of concern flashed in Edwina's eyes; it seemed only knowledge and Treasure Trove could move her.
"In my room. Please wait a moment; I'll go get it now."
After Lex left, 'Flower Tie' Jodeson approached the Iceberg Admiral and lowered his voice, saying, "Captain, if it's truly as Rayleigh says, that a monster with three beyonder characteristics is hunting him."
"Then, if Rayleigh stays on the ship, we will also be in danger."
"Rayleigh only joined us recently. Perhaps we could consider giving him a severance package and letting him leave?"
