Chapter 434 - Obtaining the Treasure Map

Lex remained calm, but still felt sick to his stomach as he watched the web, woven from hundreds of 'hands', descend upon him. When he saw those hands sprouting countless un-eyelashed eyes staring at him, he regretted eating too much for dinner.

In the corridor, this 'net' woven from many arms had already enveloped Lex. At this moment, a streak of crimson suddenly flashed through the net.

Swish, swish, swish.

The crimson flickered and intertwined. Immediately, this net, woven by the Faceless Man, was cut into pieces of severed limbs. Bloody muscle flew everywhere, and fingers of varying lengths dropped all over the floor.

Afterward, these things all turned into thin paper, and then into ash.

Lex stood in the midst of this ash, a sword formed from condensed flames now in his hand. This Flame Sword was a deeper color than before, its tip Fiery white, and the flames forming the longsword no longer pulsed and surged, maintaining a more stable state, though still not reaching the purity of plasma.

Even so, Lex easily cut through the Faceless Man's net with it.

At the front of the corridor, the Faceless Man, whose face was devoid of features and covered in fleshy growths, materialized in the air. He held his arms out flat, and fleshy growths sprouted from his upper and lower arms. The fleshy growths rapidly wriggled and grew, forming hands, one after another.

This time, these arms and hands grew mouths without lips, large and small, all opening simultaneously, then mimicking the sound of gunshots.

"What the f*ck!"

Lex clutched his head and abruptly lunged into a nearby room, but it was too late.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The corridor echoed with dense gunfire, like a machine gun. Lex's body, still in mid-air, was instantly riddled with countless 'air bullets'. However, his figure thinned, turning into a paper doll riddled with holes.

Behind the Faceless Man, a cluster of flames remaining on the floor suddenly flared up. Lex leaped out from the flames, a blazing spear in his hand.

As soon as he leaped out of the flames, Lex threw the spear at the Faceless Man, hitting him squarely in the back. But at this moment, the Faceless Man's figure shattered like a mirror, rapidly evaporating piece by piece into the air, disappearing without a trace.

"Damn Illusions!"

It wasn't Lex's first time fighting a Seer, but he still found Beyonder of this pathway very tricky and extremely difficult to kill. And after losing control, the Faceless Man in front of him was even more powerful than usual, and his abilities were even more bizarre.

Missing his strike, Lex ran, reaching the end of the corridor in the blink of an eye. He rushed into a large door.

Beyond the door was a room resembling an office, dimly lit and full of shadows.

A gas lamp fallen on the floor was the only light source in the room, illuminating a person lying on the floor nearby, with a card stuck in his throat and blood pooling everywhere.

Besides that, there were several other corpses in the room, each with a different manner of death.

Cabinets in the room were toppled, drawers pulled out, and jewelry and banknotes were scattered on the floor. A safe in the corner was open, making it seem like the killer had ransacked the place, as if searching for some kind of treasure map!

Thump, thump, thump.

Footsteps echoed from behind. Lex's eyes instantly darkened, and an invisible ripple spread out. The shadows in the room subtly, almost imperceptibly, writhed.

At the doorway, the out-of-control Faceless Man rushed in, crashing into the room's shadows. His movements suddenly became sluggish, as if he had fallen into a mire.

This was Lex's newly acquired trap ability, Shadow Mire!

Lex seized the opportunity to reach out and grasp at the Faceless Man, stealing his Paper Doll Substitute, making it difficult for the Faceless Man to evade damage using this Spell ability again.

Then, Blood Praise was raised, its dark muzzle pointing at his opponent. Bullet after bullet shot out, causing blood flames to appear on the Faceless Man's body, making him spray a large amount of blood, and causing a poisonous mist to surge around him.

Indeed, after losing the Paper Doll Substitute, the Faceless Man was finally injured and could no longer evade damage. He was hit by bullets, his body constantly swaying, forcing him to retreat repeatedly.

At this moment, he snapped his fingers.

The gas lamp on the ground suddenly flared up, and the Faceless Man leaped out of the firelight. Although he no longer had the Paper Doll Substitute, his Flame Jump could still be used!

As soon as he appeared, mouths appeared all over his body. From these lipless mouths, the sound of gunfire erupted.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The gunshots once again merged into a continuous volley.

Lex agilely dodged behind a stone pillar, only to see the nearby sofa blasted by 'air bullets', scattering its cotton stuffing, a cabinet riddled with bullet holes, and a cheap oil painting on the wall exploding into fragments. The pillar Lex was hiding behind was even blasted with flying stone dust, and chipped with one hole after another.

At this moment, a flock of crows, condensed from flames, flew out from behind the pillar. The color and temperature of the fire crows remained unchanged, but their number was one-third more than before.

Immediately, the office seemed to be filled with a cloud of fire. Dozens of fire crows, howling, flew towards the Faceless Man from all directions.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The Faceless Man could only turn his muzzle, first dealing with the flock of fire crows above his head. Air bullets, leaving faint, hard-to-discern trails, hit the flock of crows above.

It usually took seven or eight 'air bullets' to detonate a single fire crow. Under normal circumstances, the Faceless Man would find it very difficult to deal with such a numerous and erratically flying flock of crows.

But now, the out-of-control Beyonder was able to sweep the fire crows above with 'air bullets' like a machine gun, both dense in number and fast in speed.

So, one fire crow after another was detonated. Clusters of crimson bloomed above the office, fire waves continuously surged and pulsed, and the number of fire crows was rapidly decreasing.

But at this moment, the Faceless Man suddenly shuddered, as if struck and sent flying by something.

But he felt nothing, saw nothing.

He crashed into the wall but didn't fall. Then, in his spiritual perception, in his randomly growing eyes, he finally discovered a flaming spear.

Before this, this spear had been 'hidden' by Conspiracy!

The spear was pinned to his chest, its shaft slightly expanding, then suddenly exploding, blasting the Faceless Man's flesh and blood everywhere. The part of his body above the chest was almost blown off, connected only by some muscle tissue. Then, the crimson flames released by the spear engulfed his entire body.

Crackling, sizzling.

The Faceless Man's body continuously twitched, emitting various sounds. His hair was instantly burned off, his skin charred and peeling, his flesh and his internal organs melting in the scorching flames.

In the fierce flames, Lex saw something hidden in the Faceless Man's exploded chest.

He raised his hand and made a grasping motion, and the object disappeared from the Faceless Man's body, reappearing in Lex's hand.

It turned out to be a map.

A treasure map pointing to the ruins of the Antigonus family!
