It was but an instant.
A sacred and magnificent Light illuminated the Sea, then swiftly receded, forming a Milky Way across the deep Sea.
It was incredibly spectacular and powerful. Lex had no doubt that it could sink the Black Death and make the Admiral of Ailment vanish from the Sea.
The only problem was that the Golden Dream's Purification Cannon fired in a direction completely opposite to the Black Death!
Lex already felt that his head must be filled with illusory question marks.
What was wrong with the Iceberg Admiral? A command Error?
That shouldn't be. With her abilities, how could she make such a low-level Error at a critical moment?
Unless...
At this moment, in front of Lex, near the burning Black Death, illusory mirrors faintly appeared in the air. The Black Death occasionally vanished into thin air within those mirrors.
"Unless the Captain was 'misled' by mysticism." Lex quickly rowed his boat away from there.
He didn't think Tracy would continue to linger or give the Golden Dream a chance to correct its Error.
Sure enough, the Black Death lowered its sails, caught the Sea wind, and threw many items overboard to reduce weight, allowing this flagship, damaged by Lex, to drag its broken body and slowly move away from its original position.
Watching the Black Death depart, Lex truly felt traces of digestion appearing in the residual potion within his body.
"The extent of digestion isn't great, but it has indeed been digested. It's a pity the Purification Cannon didn't fire in the correct direction. Otherwise, if Tracy had vanished in the cannon fire, my potion might have been more than half digested."
Lex looked regretful, but his hands didn't stop. Just as he was about to row back, he heard a splashing sound and a weak cry for help.
"Save me."
It was a female voice.
Could it be Tracy?
Had the Admiral of Ailment fallen into the water?
But Lex immediately dismissed this idea.
He had seen Tracy; this was not the voice of that witch.
Lex searched the Sea, and a moment later, he saw a mass of red hair near a suitcase floating on the Sea.
Suddenly, Lex remembered when he and Edwina boarded the Black Death. Upon entering the cabin, a red-haired lady had asked them for help.
That lady seemed to have been captured by Tracy and brought onto the ship. Now, she was floating on the water.
Lex quickly rowed his boat over. Upon closer inspection, it was indeed the lady named Helene.
He reached out, grabbed the lady, and pulled her onto the boat.
It was already daytime.
Near an unnamed Sea Island, the Black Death floated on the Sea. Pirates were hammering and patching up the damaged ship's hull.
A group of pirates on the beach cut down trees, sawed them into planks, and used them to rebuild the bow. But this was not a simple task, at least not one that could be completed within a few days.
On the Black Death, the Captain's Cabin door opened, and Mithor and several other great pirates walked out dejectedly. They had just reported last night's battle to the Admiral of Ailment.
In last night's battle, many great pirates, including Mithor, narrowly escaped. Only one unlucky fellow fell into Edwina's hands because the Iceberg Admiral personally intervened.
In the Captain's Cabin, Tracy's face was grim. The room temperature was very low, and the Admiral of Ailment's mood at this moment could only be described as terrible.
Last night, her fleet suffered heavy losses. If she hadn't promptly used a life-saving item to mislead the Iceberg Admiral, causing the Purification Cannon to fire in another direction...
Otherwise, she would have probably been completely evaporated by the Purification Cannon's bombardment last night.
Just at this moment, someone knocked on the door, and then the blonde maid timidly walked in.
Tracy glanced at her and said, "At this time, don't bother me."
"But, but Helene..." The blonde maid hesitated, casting a cautious glance at Tracy.
The Admiral of Ailment suddenly stood up: "What happened to Helene? Is she injured?"
"No."
The blonde maid bit her lip, mustered her courage, and said with all her strength, "She's missing, Captain. This morning, I went to her room to deliver a meal. I called her name outside the door, but she didn't respond, so I opened the door, intending to leave the food in her room and go."
"But I found that no one was in the room. Helene wasn't in her room."
A cold wind instantly swept through the Captain's Cabin, making the blonde maid shiver. Black flames seemed to erupt from Tracy's eyes: "Helene is missing, and you waited until now to tell me?"
She appeared beside the blonde maid without a sound, grasped her throat with one hand, and said through gritted teeth, "You have such audacity!"
The blonde maid's eyes welled up with tears of grievance: "You were in a meeting just now; I didn't dare to disturb you."
Tracy snorted and, with a flick of her hand, pushed the blonde maid to the ground. She rushed out with a whoosh, and then her shouts of "Helene" echoed from outside.
The blonde maid slowly got up, wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes, and her lips curved upwards.
In fact, she had discovered Helene was missing last night, but she didn't immediately inform Tracy. Instead, she waited until now.
"Captain, no need to search. Helene might already be dead."
"Forget about her. You'll soon discover that I'm much better than that red-haired bitch!"
The blonde maid lowered her voice and chuckled softly in the Captain's Cabin.
The Golden Dream.
In the restaurant, Danitz craned his neck, looking into the Captain's dining room.
Today, besides Edwina, there was also a red-haired lady in the Captain's dining room, none other than Helene, whom Lex had rescued last night.
"She's very beautiful. Compared to the Captain, it's a different kind of beauty." Barrel, whose waist was becoming increasingly bloated, praised the red-haired lady with his meager vocabulary.
Iron Skin devoured a potato bread in a few bites, mumbling, "She's Tracy's lover. We should use her to exchange for a sum of money, a large sum of money."
Danitz glared at him and said, "Didn't you hear her last night? Poor Miss Helene was captured by the Admiral of Ailment and brought onto the ship. She was originally a merchant. She never intended to be Tracy's lover."
While enjoying his delicious breakfast, Lex looked at Danitz in disbelief: "Do you like Miss Helene?"
"Bullshit, I..." Danitz looked at Barrel and Iron Skin next to him, swallowing the phrase "I will always like the Captain" back down.
Lex smiled, ignored him, finished his breakfast in a few bites, and went to the deck.
He took out the Golden Feathered Serpent scepter, placed it in the sunlight, watched it refract the morning sun, and admired the pleasant golden hue.
"I really want to sell it soon. Perhaps I can sell it to Osweld. The Antiquities Recycling Association should offer a large sum for it, right?"
As Lex placed the emerald at the end of the scepter in the sunlight to admire it, he suddenly vaguely saw a sailboat appear on the Sea through the emerald.
