Chapter 485 - An unexpected encounter

"Intruder, hiss."

Lex made himself look like someone severely wounded, pointing at the gap he had just blown open and saying, "He suddenly broke through the window, injured me, and then escaped from here."

"He must be a Beyonder. He can create fireballs out of thin air."

"It must be a Pyromaniac!" a young Soldiers cried out.

For the Soldiers of the Feysac Empire, the 'Hunter' pathway was not unfamiliar, so they all knew which stage of 'Hunter' could create fireballs.

"You chase after him, but don't engage. I'll go inform Officer Otto," an older-looking Soldiers called out. He calmly proposed his plan and received approval from his comrades.

The Soldiers chased after him, and Lex stood up, leaving the dormitory as if nothing had happened and heading to the dock.

Explosions still occasionally rang out from the warship ahead, and the area was bustling with voices. It seemed that Amyrius, the demigod, was causing a ruckus on the ship to attract more attention.

"It seems Shevic was indeed transferred away. Otherwise, he wouldn't fail to sense Amyrius's aura. After all, that's a demigod's aura, and they've fought before."

Lex then looked up at the Sea in the distance, at the illusory gate, like one leading to heaven. It appeared on the Sea, large enough to easily accommodate a dozen warships passing through simultaneously. He just didn't know how long it could last.

Near that illusory gate, there were three Feysac warships, which were clearly the escort ships for clarence gate. The 'main body' of that gate might be on those warships.

Lex looked around and found a landing boat. He jumped onto it. The landing boats in this world naturally still used oars. Lex rowed the oars, making the landing boat gradually leave the dock.

After getting some distance from the dock, he threw away the oars, sat at the stern, and propped himself against the hull with his feet to stabilize himself. Then he put his hands into the water, and a fire gradually appeared in the water.

Suddenly, crimson flames shot out from between Lex's palms.

The landing boat immediately shot out with a whoosh, breaking through the waves, heading straight for a warship near the illusory gate on the distant Sea.

On the deck of that warship, Feysac Soldiers were positioned around the ship's side, maintaining vigilance.

At this moment, someone saw a landing boat coming through the waves on the Sea. A curtain of water rose behind the small boat, which approached with Beyonder power, far exceeding the usual.

"What's going on with that boat?"

On the deck, a Navy Lieutenant squinted and then shouted, "Signal them to stop. If there's no response, sink it with cannon fire!"

Immediately, a flagman came to the side of the ship and gave the signal to stop, but the person on the landing boat ignored it, and the small boat showed no intention of stopping.

So the gunners, who were already prepared, didn't hesitate. Aiming at the small boat, there was a booming cannon shot. The cannon recoiled sharply, spitting flames from its muzzle. A cannonball whistled away, directly hitting the small boat on the Sea, exploding into a ball of fire.

The flames spread with a whoosh, forming a thick smoke. In the smoke, the landing boat had been blown to splinters, and the person on board was nowhere to be seen.

In a room on the warship, Levto heard the cannon fire, glanced at the window, and saw black smoke rising from the nearby Sea, with fragments of the ship scattered everywhere on the water.

"What are they doing?" The giant frowned.

This morning, he received orders from Admiral Yegor. According to Shevic's instructions, Levto handed over clarence gate to a colonel and also told the officer how to activate the item.

In exchange, Levto requested to participate in the escort work. He hoped that when Shevic returned, he could return clarence gate intact to his superior.

Given the giant's good attitude and willingness to cooperate, the colonel granted his request, which is why he was on this warship.

Just then, Levto's spiritual intuition was triggered. He quickly turned around and saw a soaking wet Feysac man in a Navy officer's uniform suddenly appear out of thin air in his room.

The two stared at each other. Not only was Levto bewildered, but even the Feysac man looked surprised, seemingly unaware that he would meet Levto under such circumstances.

This soaking wet Feysac man was naturally Lex. He had submerged himself in the Sea before the landing boat was sunk, and after swimming for a while, he used Christie's ability, 'Steal Position,' to instantly arrive on the ship.

But he hadn't expected to end up in Levto's room.

After a moment of bewilderment, Lex had a new idea.

His first thought was to hunt Levto.

But then he remembered that the string puppet was still on him.

Levto also reacted at this moment. The giant's eyes widened, and the Light of Dawn Armor had already appeared on his body. Unexpectedly, the Feysac officer suddenly cried out, "I am Your Excellency Shevic's secret agent!"

Levto was startled, then said in a low, hoarse voice, "Your Excellency Shevic has no secret agents at all."

The Light on his body surged again.

But the Feysac officer urgently cried out, "clarence gate!"

The Light on Levto immediately dimmed. Shevic had not revealed much about the name of that item to the officers at the base. If Levto were not his confidant, he probably wouldn't know the name of that item.

Now, hearing this officer call out the correct name, Levto couldn't help but hesitate, wondering if Your Excellency really had secretly cultivated secret agents?

"Listen, Mr. Levto, I am under orders to secretly protect clarence gate. But now, there are intruders at the base. The opponent is a demigod, Amyrius Rieveldt!"

"He might also have companions, so I rushed to inform you, and I believe it's necessary to check the current status of clarence gate to ensure it can hold out until Admiral Yegor's fleet arrives."

Levto suddenly looked up and roared, "You are not Your Excellency's secret agent. If you were Your Excellency's secret agent, you would know that Your Excellency and Admiral Yegor are not on good terms. You wouldn't say such things."

Lex was stunned for a moment. This was beyond his expectation; it turned out that the two Feysac Generals were not on good terms.

However, it no longer mattered.

Levto was about to erupt, about to put on his Dawn Armor. At this moment, his head suddenly went numb, and the Feysac officer in front of him, as well as the scene in the room, inexplicably became blurry, as if he and they were separated by a thick layer of glass.

What... What's happening to me? Levto was alarmed, not understanding what had occurred.

He didn't know, but Lex was very clear.

Lex used words to stall for time, successfully manipulating Levto's Spiritual Body Threads with the string puppet, completing initial control.

Taking advantage of the giant being controlled, his thoughts and movements now sluggish, Lex raised his hand, held the Midnight Dream ring towards Levto, and uttered an ancient hermes word from his mouth: "Sleep."
