Fifty thousand pounds in bounty. A vacation that is neither short nor long. A ship of my own!
The Captain's words were like cannonballs, and now, Lex was reeling from them. He hadn't expected the higher-ups of Black Sail to give him such generous rewards. If he added the rewards for the potion and promotion, the sheer size of his gains this time was something Lex had never imagined before setting out to sea.
But then again, he had prevented a war, and his efforts were certainly worthy of such a reward.
Ken Angus bit on his cigar and said, "We're heading back to Bayam now. You can disembark there and buy your own ticket back to Loen. There's nothing else to do after this, so enjoy your vacation."
"Yes, Captain."
Leaving the Captain's Cabin, Lex returned to his room, sat on the edge of the bed, and looked at the school badge and officer's ID in his hand. After a moment, he smiled slightly: "I'm a Navy Lieutenant Commander now."
In the evening, after drinking with Roger and the others in the dining room, Lex entered his room and heard a faint knocking sound.
He perked up; Osweld's messenger had arrived.
"Come in."
As Lex spoke, he thought of his commission at the Tarot Club, wondering when he would be able to get the summoning ritual and safety incantation for a messenger.
Additionally, he remembered that he still needed to sacrifice the blood lord's gift and 400 pounds in cash to Mr. The Fool in exchange for 8600 pounds and two chapters of spiritual world anecdotes.
Osweld's messenger, the headless butler, walked out of the door, bowed politely to Lex, then carefully placed a letter on the table and stood aside, waiting.
Lex tore open the envelope, took out the letter, and began to read.
'Dear Duke, please forgive me for only now replying. I have been extremely busy lately. Perhaps you are unaware, but our kingdom has just gone through a crisis; a war almost broke out. But before that, we did not know that the war would be stopped in time, so we were busy transferring some of the antiquities we possessed.'
It seems the Antiquities Protection Society is quite well-informed. Hmm, they must have members in the kingdom's high ranks or the military department. Lex's lips twitched slightly as he continued to read.
'Fortunately, the war did not break out after all, and peace was maintained, which is why I can now sit down and write this letter to you. For an old man, this is not an easy task, is it?
You brought back the treasure map last time and made a great contribution. Therefore, I had people quickly gather the information you needed and successfully found out that Mr. Celis Newman's son settled on Simim Island after his father passed away. Now his son is also no longer alive, but his great-grandson, Bugade. Newman, is still alive and operates a winery on Simim Island.'
'His address is...'
After reading the letter, Lex exhaled. Finally, he had news of the last person.
He first sent the messenger back, then thought that Simim Island also belonged to the Rorsted Archipelago. After arriving in Bayam, he could spend a day or two going to Simim Island to inquire and see if this Mr. Bugade. Newman was a descendant of Mania.
Finding Mania's descendant should allow Mania on the black star to rest in peace and provide an opportunity to obtain Roselle's Secret Treasure. The thought filled Lex with anticipation for Bayam.
Two weeks passed in a flash.
The Wavebreaker did not enter Bayam port, so Lex had to disembark and take a small boat with Levto to the pier.
After landing, he first inquired about boat tickets to Simim Island and learned that there would only be a boat to Simim Island tomorrow morning.
So Lex, carrying his suitcase, walked through Sea Defense Street, found a horse-drawn carriage, and arrived at the Red Theater with Levto.
In a small alley near the Red Theater, they found 'Medic' Polly. Mellon's unmarked private clinic.
Unlike last time, the clinic was no longer deserted. The clinic door was open, and even from outside, one could hear the sound of people inside.
Lex quickly distinguished that most of the people in the clinic were women.
When he walked into the clinic, sure enough, in the small room of the clinic, seven or eight women were sitting in the reception area. They were dressed boldly, with enthusiastic eyes, especially when they saw Lex with a Loen face. They turned sideways, lifted their long skirts, exposing their long, slender, dark-skinned legs without a trace of fat, doing their best to be provocative.
Lex didn't need to guess; these must be the ladies from the Red Theater. It seemed, as the Medic had said before, that by opening his clinic near the Red Theater, he wouldn't lack business.
At this moment, 'Medic' Polly. Mellon walked out of the examination room. He was still the same, with a cold expression, as if he had no interest in anything, including the fiery woman who followed him out.
Seeing Lex, the Medic's eyes changed slightly, and he nodded gently. Then he calmly offered some suggestions to the woman behind him, and finally, he said expressionlessly to the others, "That's all for today. Please go back, everyone. If you have anything, come see me tomorrow."
After sending off the ladies from the Red Theater, the Medic closed the door and hung up a 'Closed' sign, then looked at Lex: "When did you get back?"
At the same time, he noticed Levto and was wary of this giant-like strong man.
"I just arrived today." Lex smiled in response and looked at the Medic, "Have you been promoted?"
"Yes, I am already a 'Harvest Priest'." The Medic nodded almost imperceptibly.
Lex asked curiously, "What are the strengths of this Sequence?"
The Medic answered without reservation, "This Sequence excels at planting. Whatever I plant will yield a bountiful harvest."
Lex's lips twitched slightly, not continuing the topic: "Have you found any news about Raditz?"
The Medic rarely showed a smile, but it quickly disappeared: "You saw it just now, the ladies from the Red Theater take good care of me. They come over almost every day."
"They are a good source of information. Yes, I have found news about Raditz. A few ladies have met him, but his visits to the Red Theater are not regular."
"I can only ask them to keep an eye out and notify me if Raditz appears again."
Lex said sincerely, "That's really good news. If you find Raditz, don't act rashly. It's best to have the ladies from the Red Theater try to find out his address."
"Money is not an issue. Here's one hundred pounds; it's the expense for this matter."
The Medic shook his head and said, "There's no need for a hundred pounds. I often provide them with free consultations and examinations, so they will serve me without charge in this matter."
Since the Medic said so, Lex didn't insist. He changed the subject: "After the New Year, I will have my own ship. I hope you can be on board then to ensure my health and that of the crew."
The Medic looked at Lex with some surprise but didn't ask anything, just nodded: "I can."
