Chapter 513 - Soft Touch

"The Key."

This word reminded Viscount Yelise that three years ago, when he first met the lady, she had said that she foresaw finding the key to deciphering the 'riddle' by her side.

And in the intermittent contact over the past three years, Viscount Yelise knew that the 'riddle' the lady wanted to decipher was in Emperor Roselle's diary. In other words, that 'key' was the person who could interpret the mysterious symbols created by the Great Emperor.

Viscount Yelise had no doubts about the lady's 'foresight'. The first time he met her, she 'foresaw' that his father would die of illness a year later.

The 'advice' she later gave Viscount Yelise also fully confirmed the accuracy of her 'foresight'. It was precisely because of the lady's advice that Viscount Yelise's assets almost doubled in just two years.

This was a height his father had never reached in his lifetime. Therefore, he held absolute loyalty to this mysterious and noble lady.

"Lady, I've never seen him. However, I do know this young lady."

Viscount Yelise pointed to Elana, outlined by flames, and in this scene, Elana was focused on Lex. The Viscount said with certainty, "From their expressions, they know each other. I can inquire with this young lady."

"No."

The masked woman gently shook her head. "Post a commission within the circle. If anyone can decipher the content of Emperor Roselle's notes, they can obtain a 'Book of Fate' from you."

"Say that it was written by the Great Emperor's daughter, a mysterious book about fate. Later, I will give you a genuine copy of the Great Emperor's notes, which you can have people copy and distribute to the participants."

Viscount Yelise immediately understood the lady's intention and nodded, saying, "Such contact is indeed gentler."

On monday morning, Lex sat on the toilet, reading a newspaper, when a sudden inspiration struck him. He activated his Spiritual Vision and saw a slight bulge in the space of the washroom, as if something wanted to breakthrough space.

Is this Mr. Asered's messenger? He really picks his timing. Should I get up now or just block it with the newspaper?

Before Lex could make a decision, a pair of translucent hands had already emerged from the air. The right hand opened, dropped a letter on the ground, and the messenger retracted.

Throughout the entire process, it didn't even glance at Lex.

Lex put down the newspaper and picked up the envelope, tearing it open.

Inside was a letter, Asered's reply. The old gentleman stated that Lex's luck was good; several of the materials he hoped to obtain could be found in the Treasure Trove at home.

Among them, the Sequence 5 main material, 'Heart of the Blade Killer', and the auxiliary material, 'Eyes of the Blade Killer', were both in Asered's Treasure Trove.

"Excellent!"

Lex excitedly left the washroom and immediately wrote a letter, stating that he most wanted the 'Heart of the Blade Killer', and also to purchase the 'Eyes of the Blade Killer' and two other auxiliary materials from Asered.

He didn't even bother to eat breakfast before setting up an altar and summoning the messenger.

The two translucent hands reluctantly emerged. Lex had just raised the envelope when the messenger snatched it and left, giving Lex no chance to speak.

"It looks unhappy."

"Doesn't it like delivering mail? You should love your job! Why is it showing Life Qi?"

Lex muttered as he tidied the altar, then went to the second-floor dining room for his meal.

After breakfast, he and Levto went to Lyn's law firm. Of course, by the time they arrived, Lex had transformed into the stern-faced 'Duke'.

When he knocked on the firm's door, he was surprised to find that Lyn himself opened it.

"Good morning." After a slight surprise, Lex quickly adjusted his expression and smiled, tipping his hat.

"Good morning, come in. It's a bit messy inside, I hope you don't mind." Lyn stepped aside, making way.

In the office area of the firm, many documents were packed, indicating that the business had ceased operations. Only Lyn's office remained as it was.

"Sorry, I've dismissed all my employees, so there's no one to make coffee. Perhaps I could make us some black tea?" Lyn spread his hands, sitting on his desk with a smile.

Lex smiled and shook his head. "No need for such trouble. It seems you really intend to end your work in Backlund."

Lyn nodded, then suddenly said, "Are you free on the morning of the 21st, which is tomorrow?"

Lex shrugged. "I don't have anything pressing to do in Backlund for now."

"Then, could you come with me to Crown Cemetery tomorrow morning? Talim's funeral will be held there tomorrow, and I want to see him off."

"But you know, I have some troubles, and I'm worried about accidents." At this point, Lyn paused, then continued, "I should just find Cromwell and see if he's free."

"No need. I'll accompany you tomorrow morning." Lex readily agreed, then said, "After leaving Backlund, have you thought about where you want to seek opportunities?"

Lyn smiled. "I haven't decided yet. Maybe Intis, or Lenburg. In any case, I won't stay in Loen anymore."

It sounds like he's in quite a bit of trouble, having to leave the Loen Kingdom. Lex coughed into his fist. "It's like this: after the New Year, I'll be going to Sea. I'll have my own ship. If you're interested, you can come with me to Sea."

"To Sea?"

Lyn said half-jokingly, "Don't tell me you're a pirate?"

"No, I have another identity on the Sea. At the same time, I'm an informant for the Royal Navy. I venture around, explore ruins, discover Treasure Trove, sometimes combat pirates, and earn bounties."

"And I've found that seeking opportunities for promotion is much easier on the Sea."

"If you're interested, I'll reserve a spot for you on the ship. In fact, I'm really looking forward to your joining, as sometimes I need to deal with officials and travel to different countries."

"If I have someone familiar with the law by my side, I'd feel much more at ease."

Lyn looked at Lex in surprise. "So this is your real job."

After a moment, he mused, "I can't give you an immediate answer, but I will consider it carefully. Regardless of the outcome, I will give you an answer after the New Year."

"I look forward to it." Lex knew that this matter couldn't be too aggressive, so he stopped there.

Next, Lyn handed over the relevant documents for the investments he had previously made for Lex. These investments were mainly in securities: "After the New Year, on the day the stock exchange opens, you can sell them and cash out. If my predictions are correct, you will earn around 10,000 pounds by then."

"I will make good use of this money." Lex shook the documents in his hand and said with a smile.

The two chatted for a while longer. Lyn still had things to deal with, so Lex took Levto and left.

At three in the afternoon, in his room, Lex saw a deep crimson surge before his eyes.
