A knocking sound rang out.
Lex put down the Great Emperor's diary and said, "Come in."
The door opened, and a young maid walked in. The youthful girl wore a black and white servant's dress typical of the era, carrying a tray with pastries and tea.
"Young Master Lex, this is afternoon tea that Butler Quenna asked me to bring," the girl said, timidly glancing at Lex.
Lex knew that when Bison came to Backlund, he only brought two butlers, Sebastian and Quenna, and a few personal male and female servants. All others, including the chef, were hired after arriving in Backlund.
Lex didn't even know the name of this pretty little maid, so he just smiled and nodded, "Just put it down."
The little maid put the items down, then left with the tray.
Lex cleared his throat and tried calling out, "Kardashian?"
Then his spiritual intuition was triggered. He looked up and saw wisps of black viscous liquid pouring out of the chandelier on the ceiling. They didn't fully drip down but transformed in mid-air into Kardashian's seductive face and her long, black hair hanging upside down.
If this were at night, it would be a classic ghost encounter. Lex gently picked up the teapot: "Would you like some afternoon tea?"
"You're quite amusing. Afternoon tea is just a boring pastime popular in your Loen. Besides, do I look like I'd drink afternoon tea in my current state?"
Kardashian then turned her head and glanced at Grego, who was pressed tightly against the cage wall, terrified: "You're truly extravagant, keeping a magical animal. Do you mind if I turn it into an obedient undead?"
Lex glanced at the trembling Grego: "No need, it's fine as it is now."
"Hehe." Kardashian's face and hair reverted to black liquid, pouring out from the lampshade and dripping down. Upon reaching the ground, they reformed into alluring bare feet that sparked imagination, a blood-curdling long dress, a breathtaking waistline, full and prominent breasts, and that exotic, beautiful face.
In a blink, a barefoot beauty appeared in the room, then sat beside Lex, gently picked up a piece of cake, and brought it to her mouth.
Lex felt question marks must be appearing above his head, otherwise, why would Kardashian look at him and then say, "I can't taste food now, I can only feel its softness. While this state is much more convenient than before, it also lacks a lot of fun."
She then noticed the diary in Lex's hand and said, "Is that Roselle's notebook?"
"You know about it?" Lex poured two cups of black tea, naturally picking up one and taking a small sip.
"I've seen it once or twice." Kardashian wiped her mouth, not touching the cup, but instead looked at Grego, "What Sequence is it?"
"Monster Sequence."
"Monster, huh. A talking bird does seem like a monster, but I'm more so." Kardashian looked back at Lex, stood up, "So next time, don't let a monster accompany you for afternoon tea."
As she spoke, her form began to decompose, but then Lex said, "You said that when you meet your teacher, you hope to look more like a human."
"Then you must learn to live like a human, not treat yourself as a monster, don't you think?"
Kardashian stopped changing. After a moment, she sat back down, elegantly picked up the teacup, and took a small sip: "The water's a bit cool."
Lex smiled in response: "Next time I'll tell the servant to pay attention."
He picked up the notebook again and continued reading.
February 11th, failed to contact Zaratul again.
Ever since I got that Antigonus notebook, the leader of the Secret Order has been appearing less and less frequently. I don't know what he's secretly plotting, but he definitely won't tell me.
February 12th, made a suitable magical item for Bernadette.

"A book on mysticism? What's so rare about that? I've read at least eighty, if not a hundred, books on mysticism," Kardashian said dismissively.
Lex's heart stirred, and he said, "Really? Do you still remember the contents?"
Kardashian looked at him warily and said, "I won't tell you those contents. Those are our secrets; they won't be divulged!"
Lex said awkwardly, "I'm not an outsider."
"Hehe." Kardashian chuckled without speaking.
Lex tried saying, "Have you ever thought that over so many years, some of the knowledge you possess might have been lost or become fragmented? If you record them, and one day have the chance to bring them back to the South Continent and teach them to your descendants, filling in the gaps in knowledge, perhaps your teacher would be pleased?"
Kardashian paused, then fell silent, as if considering.
Lex didn't add more fuel to the fire. He knew such matters couldn't be rushed. He looked at the diary in his hand, then casually placed it aside, intending to have his sister return it to Elana.
Although 'The Book of Destiny' was very tempting, Lex didn't intend to help the Viscount decipher the diary, because that would expose his secret.
Furthermore, he worried that higher-level figures might use Viscount Yelise to find those capable of deciphering the Great Emperor's diary. Such practices are not uncommon on Blue Star.
