Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Transmigration

Alistair Vance arrived in this world in March, and honestly, he was pretty annoyed when he first got his bearings.

It was supposed to be the "2D world" (anime/manga reality), but there was nothing of the sort. Meaning, none of the waifus he'd been promised actually existed here.

Annoying as it was, he accepted his current identity—the beneficiary of an entire apartment building.

Ahmos no, he should be called Alistair Vance now. He really should change his current surname sometime. He thought about maybe changing his middle name from Vance to "Wuu-ren" (Martial Man) and trying his hand at voice acting for a bit of fun?

Sixteen-year-old Alistair stands at a perfect 160cm (5'3"), placing him firmly at the tail end of the "shota" (boyish) stage. However, his appearance is exceptionally handsome: soft, pinkish hair, gentle features, and a delicate face—a perfect candidate for cross-dressing... Ahem, someone with the potential to be a great heartthrob.

Alistair is about to enter a nearby high school called Public Sakura Academy. The school has a good reputation and no shortage of students in the area.

There's also a nearby aristocratic, religious, all-girls academy called St. Lux Academy. There are several other schools nearby, but Alistair hasn't bothered to learn about them.

Oh, and there's also an 'Ajin Academy' (Demi-Human Academy), rumored to be exclusively for students of demi-human races.

Speaking of which, although he was told this was an anime world, it wasn't particularly advanced or underdeveloped; it was pretty similar to the world he left behind.

Wait, one difference: this world has fantasy settings like demi-humans and people with special abilities.

For example, there are Yuki-onna (snow women), Kappa (river imps), Cat and Fox Spirits, and so on. Most humanoid types are considered demi-humans.

...Now those sound pretty awesome, don't they? A Catgirl Paradise? Horse Girls (Uma Musume)?

As for special abilities, they cover things like ice, fire, water, and telekinesis. But none of them are overpowered. The maximum power an individual can master can, at most, destroy one house in a single full-power attack—and only after being officially selected and trained by the government. Even then, it drains the user completely, not even matching the power level of Megumin (from Konosuba), yet incurring a similar debilitating exhaustion. For a regular person, the powers are even weaker.

Thus, special abilities here are mostly used for convenience in daily life. What surprised Alistair, however, was that not even registering your abilities with the authorities was mandatory.

Is this really the 2D world? Is there really no logic? But none of this concerns Alistair; he couldn't care less.

The apartment building he's currently living in belongs to his family. Right from the start, he has the 'winner in life' template: parents deceased, a place to live, and an inheritance waiting. He also has a grandfather traveling the world. He's currently being "looked after" by a distant uncle's family.

He remembers his grandfather promising to hand over the rent collection rights when Alistair comes of age, and he'll be free to spend the money as he wishes. So, for now, Alistair's pockets are empty.

Being "looked after" by his uncle's family mostly means having his older cousin, a girl a year his senior, guide him. The catch? She mostly ignores him. She's entering her second year, and he's entering his first.

He also has several classmates attending the same school. Even though his identity was pre-arranged for the transmigration, he still has the memories of his first sixteen years in this world.

Based on this world's setup, he seems to be positioned as the kind of gentle, kind-hearted male protagonist from traditional harem romance anime—the "Yasashii-kun" trope.

And being so cute (Kawaii), he's definitely going to be a small, slender shota in the future.

However, that's not what Alistair wants. Before transmigrating, he wasn't exactly tall, but he was at least 170cm (5'7")! Well, he's only sixteen now; there's still room to grow.

It's his "little brother" (his penis), however, that defies age and biology. It looked normal at first, but when he later decided to "reward" himself, he discovered that thing's growth was more outrageous than Popeye's arm. Does anyone know the sheer potency of a 66mm caliber, 25cm (9.8 inches) cannon barrel?

What's more, when he tucks it into his pants, it feels perfectly fine, with no mysterious bulge on the surface. Is this the legendary Fourth-Dimensional space?

Still, these things aren't major issues. Alistair is more concerned with the entertainment here, wondering if there are any major game titles—or perhaps some adult games—similar to those before he transmigrated.

Forgive him; he was just a regular otaku before he crossed over. Aside from playing games, what else could an otaku do to spend his vacation? Jerk off and sleep every day, wake up and jerk off again, then repeat the cycle?

That's obviously impossible. Alistair firmly believes that only by living well and living long can one live comfortably, play more games, and have the opportunity to discuss the practical engineering of procreation with more young women.

If only to avoid tearing up from regret in old age, one must pay attention to health. I mean, games!

After discussing himself, he should mention the cousin responsible for "guiding" him: Chiaki.

She's a very beautiful girl, rumored to have many admirers. He wonders if she has a boyfriend. She's about 170cm (5'7"), quite tall for a girl, and her remarkably perfect figure made Alistair internally gasp, feeling overwhelmed just looking at her.

She has two best friends: one is a brown-skinned, scantily-clad 'Gyaru' (a type of Japanese fashion subculture, typically a bit of a party girl), and the other is a very fair-skinned, pure and quiet-looking literature girl—at least on the surface.

Speaking of transmigrating, Alistair asked the "driver" (the entity responsible for his transmigration) for one ability: perhaps "Appraisal"?

Alistair simply looked at his palm and silently muttered "Appraise" to test it, and sure enough, a semi-transparent character panel appeared.

Summary: This person has extremely high charm.

Ah, come on, that's just ridiculous! Especially the summary! Was Alistair wearing "colored glasses" (seeing things through a perverted lens)? Is this ability that 'colorful' (suggestive)?

Trying something else, Alistair turned his gaze to his bed and silently thought, "Acquire."

Immediately, a semi-transparent box appeared before him.

"A big, soft, top-quality double bed."

...That's it? Is that all?

Alistair was speechless. Then he noticed an expansion symbol in the bottom right corner of the box. Alistair focused his attention on it.

Upon expansion, there was a note: "Hey there, this bed is perfectly suited for activities~ 😉 Wanna give it a try?" ... (Some seemingly random characters/numbers)

"Well, whatever. If it's useless, it's useless. I'll just marry a good wife and live off my inheritance anyway. I've got a whole building, after all."

Alistair felt a bit resigned. Why couldn't his transmigration be as good as others?

Look at those guys—they get the same setup as him, but their systems grant them all sorts of overpowered abilities, and girls flock to them. Who else gets an ability like "Acquire," which seems only capable of fetching information?

In his frustration, Alistair casually used "Acquire" on various objects in the room to get information. But after using it twice more, the ability stopped working.

Just then, Alistair tried calling up his personal panel. It appeared, and in the Talent section, the word "Acquire" now displayed (0) next to it.

Holy shit! That was the number of uses?!

Alistair was even more exasperated.

Sigh. It seems like he's truly stuck being just an ordinary rich third-generation heir, just coasting through life...
