Ansel's POV
Sunlight crept through the partially closed blinds and shone across my face, bringing me out of sleep.
I squinted, groaning softly as the light went into my eyes. My arm moved toward the nightstand, fingers patting around until I found my phone. I pulled it close and used it to shield my face from the blinding morning sun.
Just past 8 a.m.
My head still felt foggy, like I hadn't really rested at all. My body was heavy, from exhaustion and from everything else, the weight of last night, the words I said, the things we did.
I ran a hand through my hair and exhaled slowly.
I turned, expecting to see her, leah, curled beside me, locked in the sheets, maybe still asleep.
But the space was cold and empty. She wasn't there.
"Leah?" I called out, my voice bad from sleep.
No response.
Maybe she was in the bathroom? Maybe she went to grab coffee?
I waited a moment. Still nothing.
I sat up, the blanket fell off my waist as I looked around the room. No note. No text. No sign she had even said goodbye.
Just….gone.
I grabbed my phone and found her contact, pressed and called.
It rang once, then silence. Call failed. I tried again, same thing. Again, still nothing.
Panic washed over me and my jaw clenched.
Did she block me?
Just as my thoughts started drifting and wondering what I did wrong, why she left, how she left. I heard a knock at the door.
It was a light knock, but before I could even stand, the door flung open and Vanessa cat-walked in.
She didn't hesitate. Didn't wait for permission. She moved in like she owned the place.
"Morning, stranger," she said with a playful smile on her face, eyes going around the room.
I stood quickly, still shirtless, running a hand through my hair. "Vanessa, what the hell?"
"Oh, don't be so tense," she said almost immediately, waving her hand like whatever I was going through didn't matter. "I figured you wouldn't be doing much this early anyway."
I moved in front of her, trying to block her path. "You can't just show up like this. What are you even doing here?"
She tilted her head, lips forming a curve. "Checking on you, obviously. We haven't talked in days. Thought you might've missed me."
I sighed, clearly not in the mood for any of this. "I don't have the energy for this right now."
"Something happen?" she asked, finally picking up on my mood. "You look like someone who just got left."
I froze.
She smiled again, a little softer this time. "So…
.she was here?"
I didn't answer her
Vanessa walked past me and dropped her bag on the table. "Look, whatever happened with Leah, don't let it ruin your morning."
I stared at her. "You don't get it."
"No," she said, finally moving an settling on the couch like she belonged there, "you're right. I don't. But I do know you need a distraction…and I'm very, very good at that." She winked.
I remained silent, still thinking of Leah, but Vanessa was already making herself comfortable.
She rose again from the couch with a kind of slow and deliberate movement, her hips swaying, her eyes locked onto mine with a motive that told me she knew exactly what she was doing.
She closed the space between us, slowly.
"Remember," she whispered, her voice low and teasing, "im yours, I'm ready to do anything she couldn't."
Her lips went up into a smirk as she leaned in and nipped at my ear lightly,
"I'm freaky, Ansel."
She laughed at her own words like it was a joke I was supposed to be on, her hand suddenly reaching down and grabbing me.
Only then did I realize…shit…I was still naked from the waist down.
I tried to step back, but she was quicker, locking gaze with me again, and her expression shifted.
"Leah?" she said with a scoff. "She'll never give you what I can. Not power. Not reach. Not influence."
Her voice dropped anger, this time sharper.
"My marriage to Ace?" She laughed. "It's a business move. A stepping stone. For both of us."
She moved a finger down my chest, slow and confident.
"We're going to benefit from it. Together."
I saw it.
Everything she meant. Everything she said.
And God help me, it all made sense.
The way she talked about power, the influence, the control. Leah gave me emotions. Chaos. But Vanessa? Vanessa was offering me something else. A future built on leverage.
I let out a loud sigh, the tension in my chest going away. A part of me was giving in.
She noticed immediately and a smiled formed on her lips.
Without another word, she dropped to her knees in front of me, her hands already moving. My breath caught, the moment she took my balls in her hands and swallowed my dick.
She sucked me in like she had done this a thousand times, like she knew every reaction before I even made them. Her rhythm was easy and deliberate. My hands moved to her head, as I fought for some space.
The sounds she made, the way she moved….it was all consuming me.
For a few wild minutes, I couldn't think of anything else. Just this. Just her and the ease with which she sucked me.
She went faster, sensing the way my body responded, the way my breath casually hitched and the way my muscles tensed. She knew I was close. Knew exactly how to make it worth it.
Without hesitation, she pulled me deeper into her mouth, her movements were more aggressive, and more relentless. I moaned, my hand moving to the back of her head, gripping gently at first and then tighter, as I matched her rhythm, supporting the speed she went on.
It was fast. Heated and raw.
My body tightened, the pressure was building with every second. I was ready to let go.
But then….
Knock knock.
A loud knock slammed through the apartment like a gunshot.
She paused mid movement, eyes looking up to mine.
We both froze.
