Chapter 104 - Bea: “I Encountered a Legendary Pokémon!”

On the jetliner, Lillie stared out the window, dazed. She still hadn't quite processed what had happened.

"Why am I on a plane? Didn't I just deliver the files to Director Faba?"

Her mother's concerned voice drifted from beside her.

"Lillie, are you alright? You've looked out of sorts since you boarded. Do you need a couple more days' rest?"

Lillie turned to her mother, puzzled.

"Mother, why are we here?"

Lusamine blinked, a little surprised.

"Are you sleepwalking? You asked for two days off—remember? We're on our way home. Today's the day Bai Chen returns, isn't it?"

At the mention of Bai Chen, Lillie suddenly remembered the purpose of the trip. A flutter of excitement warmed her chest.

"Maybe you've been overworked," Lusamine said gently. "If you need, I can ease your duties when we get back."

Once, Lillie had thought her mother lived only for work. After a month interning at Aether Paradise, she finally understood the weight her mother bore: running an organization meant responsibility for tens of thousands of people. The burdens changed how Lusamine had to act—sometimes, duty came before self.

Lillie let the worry go and leaned back. She only wanted to get home now.

The flight from Aether Paradise to Malie Island was short—half an hour at most. The plane descended into the private airstrip of the estate. James was waiting to greet them.

"Welcome home, Chairwoman, Miss."

Lillie hopped down the stairs and asked, breathlessly,

"Mr. James—has Mr. Bai returned yet?"

James shook his head apologetically.

"I haven't seen him. Wasn't he scheduled to arrive today?"

Lillie checked her phone. By the timetable Bai Chen had given her, he should already have been back.

"Could he have missed it?" Her excitement sagged like a deflated balloon.

Lusamine patted her hand.

"Maybe he was delayed. Let's wait a little while."

Lillie nodded, trying to keep hope alive.

Question: When you get randomly teleported into a wild plain, happen to land right in the middle of a Pokémon battle, and then happen to be thrown into the center of the field just as Galar particles strike the wild Pokémon and it goes Dynamax, and the Dynamax Pokémon is about to use its signature move — how likely is that?

Answer: For Bai Chen, that probability is one hundred percent—because it had already happened to him.

Before him towered a Dynamaxed Machamp, blasted by Galar particles—its height easily reached thirty meters. By comparison, Zinogre was only eight meters tall.

The Dynamaxed Machamp was wrapped in red, crackling energy. Opposite it, a silver-haired girl directed her Graploct and barked orders as if conducting an orchestra. She froze when her eye caught the suddenly appearing stranger standing in the dust-streaked center of the battlefield.

Bai Chen had landed without any warning; there had been no gradual fade-in—just a snap into the arena. The girl's face registered shock.

The Dynamaxed Machamp squared its shoulders. Bai Chen's presence hadn't cowed him. In the Dynamax state, wild Pokémon's aggression skyrocketed. It raised its massive fist, preparing to strike.

Bea shouted to her Graploct:

"Use Mega Punch on Machamp—now!"

"Roshubi!" Graploct answered and leapt forward—when, to everyone's astonishment, Bai Chen dropped his pack and a black-red aura flared around him. Crimson flames wrapped his body, and a domineering, kinglike presence radiated outward.

He launched himself upward and into close quarters with the Dynamaxed Machamp.

Fist met fist; the scale difference made the tableau almost cinematic.

A thunderous boom split the air.

The Machamp staggered back several steps before it could absorb the impact of Bai Chen's strike. The collision of raw strength was immovable—yet the Dynamaxed behemoth was not Bai Chen's match.

Bea and Graploct stood frozen on the sidelines; their minds refused to compute what they had just seen.

Bai Chen was in Ultimate Aura Transformation—his attributes boosted by forty percent for a short time. Mastery in his Bodybuilding discipline multiplied his strength roughly 1.7 times; the Attack Gems embedded on his armor added another 1.2×. His mastery-level Titan's Body, plus a practiced Overlord Presence, layered further multiplicative bonuses. All combined, his combat power surged insanely—close to 3.4× his baseline.

He grumbled inwardly at the transfer system.

"This teleport mechanic is terrible. Last time it dumped me into a Great Wroggi fight; this time it spits me out before a Dynamaxed Machamp. Next time, just throw me straight at an Ancient Dragon."

Unperturbed, the Machamp righted itself and lifted its gargantuan fist. Wild Dynamax Pokémon didn't shy away from power; it roared and prepared to bring the hammer down.

Bai Chen crossed his arms in front of his chest. He activated an Aloha-style Z Crystal of the Normal-type, channeling the surrounding natural energy into his body. The glowing Z insignia shimmered before him.

Then he charged—silver light trailing in his wake—and slammed shoulder-first into the Machamp's midriff.

Ultimate Invincible Charge!

A violent explosion of energy threw wind across the plain, whipping bea's silver hair into motion. The Dynamaxed Machamp, overwhelmed by the concentrated Z assault, shrank back down to normal size in an instant.

When the dust settled, a single figure stood in the center of the battlefield: Bai Chen.

Bea stared, mind racing.

"Was that a Z-Move?"

She had heard of Alolan Z techniques before, but had never seen one used in person. The consequences were massive.

She quickly scanned the arena and found no Trainer in sight.

"He has no Trainer... and yet he used a Z-Move and overpowered a Dynamax Pokémon."

Her eyes traveled across Bai Chen's armor and the absurdly oversized greatswords strapped to his back. The realization hit like cold water.

Bea swallowed and squared her shoulders, composing herself.

"Please—will you engage me in a capture battle?"

She now believed she had encountered a legendary Pokémon: a Fighter-type of overwhelming strength—and she would seize that chance to capture or at least test it.

Bai Chen blinked.

"...?"
