Bai Chen accepted the Dynamax Band from Bea and examined it carefully.
The key component, of course, was the black crystal embedded in the band—
A Wishing Star.
A meteorite-born stone that naturally absorbs Galar Particles.
He slipped the band onto his wrist.
At this point, both his arms were practically decorations—
a Bond Stone, a Z-Ring, now a Dynamax Band…
If he ever obtained a Key Stone later, he really would run out of wrist space.
This was Bai Chen's first time attempting Dynamax. He quietly felt the energy flowing from the band.
Then he glanced at the Rock Dragon waiting beside him.
"Let's try it. Go ahead—Dynamax."
Basarios walked to the center of the arena.
Bai Chen looked toward Bea.
"Bea, take your Pokémon to the stands.
Mine is about to get… extremely big."
Bea blinked at the tiny, dog-sized Rock Dragon.
The arena was massive, designed specifically to accommodate two fully Dynamaxed Pokémon.
Even so, she followed his instructions and returned to the stands.
Bai Chen stepped into the trainer's spot.
"Cancel Mini-Size."
Basarios's body rapidly expanded—
In a heartbeat, it returned to its natural, thirty-meter length.
Bea's eyes widened.
"It's… that big before Dynamaxing…?"
She studied him closely—no red glow, no storm clouds, no Dynamax aura.
This was simply his natural size.
Bai Chen activated the Dynamax Band.
Normally, a trainer had to return the Pokémon to a ball, charge the ball with Galar particles, then throw it.
But there were exceptions—like Mega Evolution without a trainer,
or Bai Chen using Z-Moves alone.
Some Pokémon, like Ash's Pikachu, could Dynamax without returning to their Pokéball.
Bai Chen wanted to see if his monsters could do the same.
The band lit up with crimson energy.
Galar particles surged into the Wishing Star.
"Dynamax!"
Crimson light exploded across the arena, flowing straight into the Rock Dragon.
Its body began to swell—
30 meters…
40 meters…
50 meters…
In seconds, his length reached an absurd—
180 meters.
The monster's massive frame stretched across the entire arena.
This battlefield meant for two Dynamaxed Pokémon could barely contain one Rock Dragon.
His body glowed crimson;
Three swirling red clouds gathered above his rocky dorsal plates.
Bea stared, speechless.
"H-He's enormous… That's not just big… That's a mountain."
Bai Chen couldn't hide his satisfaction.
"So monsters can Dynamax after all."
The Rock Dragon, already colossal in his natural form, now looked like a super-giant Elder Dragon under Dynamax.
Aside from size, the crimson aura, and the three clouds, he hadn't visually changed much—
nothing like the dramatic transformation of earlier wild Dynamax Pokémon.
Just like Z-Moves had exclusive Z-Moves,
Dynamax had its own superior form:
Gigantamax.
Only a handful of Pokémon could Gigantamax, and only after drinking Max Soup.
"I wonder if Rock Dragon can Gigantamax…"
Bai Chen pointed skyward.
"Basarios, use Max Flare!"
The beast raised its massive head and fired a pillar of flame into the clouds.
A blazing sun erupted overhead—
lighting up the entire night sky.
Half of Stow-on-Side looked like dawn had arrived early.
Bai Chen exhaled lightly.
"Dynamax moves… aren't nearly as strong as his real techniques."
Compared to the Super Flame Cannon,
This Max Flare was pitiful.
A downgrade, really.
"If I want him to use Flame Cannon in Dynamax…
He must Gigantamax."
He released the Dynamax state from Basarios.
Then he summoned Zinogre and Nergigante—
and tested Dynamax on them as well.
Good news: both could Dynamax.
Even if not as gigantic as the Rock Dragon,
They still towered over normal Pokémon.
Once he ended their forms, Bai Chen looked down at his own hands.
"And what about me?
Can I Dynamax?"
He had Elder Dragon blood.
His lifeform level was no different from a mythical creature.
He activated the Dynamax Band.
Crimson particles flooded into him.
His body swelled instantly—
30 meters tall.
Bai Chen lowered his gaze, stunned.
His Seadrake armor grew with him,
and even the massive greatswords strapped to his back became titanic weapons.
He surveyed the arena.
This sensation…was surreal.
Like he had fallen into a miniature world.
He stomped lightly—and triggered Max Strike.
The ground cracked open. It looked impressive. But Bai Chen could feel it clearly—
His strength dropped.
Drastically.
The Titan Body's power wasn't projecting.
Dynamax was effectively…
negative growth.
Only his weight seemed to have increased.
He dispelled the Dynamax form with clear disappointment.
He already understood the reason.
Dynamax didn't enlarge the actual body.
It projected a giant energy avatar, like a low-resolution 3D hologram.
And the "projector" was garbage-tier.
His Titan Body, his skills—none of them carried over.
The same was true for all his monsters.
Unless they could Gigantamax,
Dynamax provided nothing but intimidation.
Up in the stands, Bea—of course—knew none of this.
Her focus was locked on one fact:
Bai Chen had just Dynamaxed.
Her eyes trembled.
"And you STILL say you're not a Pokémon!?
What kind of human can Dynamax?!"
Bai Chen shot her a glance.
"Your vision is too small.
Who said only Pokémon can Dynamax?"
